Just like the tremendous earthquake at the beginning of Final Fantasy III (http://link.gamestop.com/t/345382/16894264/14528/0/) that opened up a chasm, swallowed up the light crystals and released the forces of darkness, a tremor rippled through our land as we pried open the ginormous GameStop wallet and released the forces of savings by offering $10 off Final Fantasy III for DS (http://link.gamestop.com/t/345382/16894264/14528/0/). Get your copy by May 19, before the giant wallet snaps shut. Well I love how we're being brutally honest nowadays lol

Haha, you know I didn't even really read that. That's great.
Their ads are usually full of irrelevant bullshit, so I just skim for the deals.

Prepare to level grind like you've never ground before.
This really confuses me. FFIII DS has been $20 at Gamestop since at least December if not earlier.
Edit: I'm not saying this post shouldn't be here, but I'm just wondering why are they advertising it now?

Yeah, I noticed this too (bought FFIII back when it was first advertised for $20). When I ran a price check before posting, however, most retail still had it at $30. *shrug*

When Amazon had the price for $16.99 at DOTD, and I noticed it sold out, I was like "Why? Gamestop has always had the price at $20".
But nope, when I checked, Gamestop was selling it for $30 again, at $25 used.
So I guess now they decided to drop it back down.
It's worth mentioning it's $18 used, and there is no shortage of the game at EB / GS.

the whole game is easy except for the last 4 hours which for some reason they chose not to include save points and you fight like 80 bosses are which are a pain (including the final one) and you can't go back to the overworld. it is the most retarted design ever.

wow.... I'll pass. I hate games that require inordinate replaying of grueling gameplay with no saves.

Dang, I guess I missed the Amazon DOTD on this if it was $16.99 :bomb:
Hopefully Amazon drops it to $20 and I can get it gold box for $19 or something.

QFT. Although you *CAN* get back to the overworld and save but it is a long ass hike. I died about 3 times in the final battles which caused me to lose plenty of hours which pissed me off. I just grinded like a mofo and would make the trek back outside to save my progress. It certainly didnt make the game more fun.
edit: I lied.

I tried getting back to the overworld from the "final dungeon of no return" and wasted hours w/out finding an exit. And I'm not talking about The Final Tower, before the world of darkness

I'm at some stupid boss in the giant castle with multiple towns around it and can't beat him because of the bullshit multi-strike lightning attacks. Grinding would be okay if the game didn't require 10x the grinding as other games for the same increase in job skills. And I'm not into that "go buy a bunch of gear and grind 4 dragoons to kill him" nonsense.
I was playing all the games from start to finish but I might jump past III and just bust out IV for the GBA. It requires too much damn free time to counter the shitty development decisions. I'm definitely not going to max out even a single job level anytime soon, let alone all of them. It's like some developers are so arrogant to think you'll play their masterpiece game and forsake all others for months.
the boss you speak of you pretty much HAVE to use a dragoon, but you don't have to lvl it first, just get thunder weapons for each of your characters to dual wield (spears obviously) and then jump the hell out of him
i didnt think it was that hard at all. yeah the last dugeon is hard, but just use an (ottershroom, i think is what its called) or have your white mage warp you out if you want to save.

I love grinding...but I hated this game.
