I just ordered a 360 and need a cheap means to do wifi... So can anyone provide a deal or recommend a means of cheap wifi. I know I can share my wifi through my macbook, but its slow and my macbook must be on to use it. I can also get a wifi router and convert it to a gaming thing. With the dd-wrt firmware and the best one, so they say, is the linksys one, forgot the model number, but microcenter has it for $45. Anything cheaper or better. Perhaps a deal for the original xbox adapter, too bad frys ran out of them...

There might be cheaper ways, but I can't verify that they work. I've heard about some D-Link WAPs that work with a firmware revision, so try googling that too. This I know works....my freind uses it in his bedroom.

thats the website that I found it at too a while back... I'll try and find one cheap online, as that seems to be the best option. The linksis one is the most noted one and has a lot of flash mem so it will work the best aparantly. I might go get one tomorrow or something, idk.

works really well for me since i am able to plug my tivo into it as well

not necessarily the buffalo one because it is more expensive than the other solution your looking at but they have cheaper ones

I'm not sure what that is, security. I think it does handle your wifi security. From what I've read, it can take the wifi signal from your existing router and relay it to whatever device you want, like a 360 or tivo or whatever. Security for me is not a huge deal, since my neighbors both got their own network, which I set up for them, they are both old and wouldn't even know how to connect to my network.
