I picked up Ico yesterday at a closing KB near me for 12.49. It was the last copy and I didn't feel like waiting till Saturday to hopefully save a dollar or two and most likely it would have been gone anyway. I picked up Conker's Bad Fur Day today at the same KB for 10.59. I skipped that one when it first released, glad I have it now. :)

The didn't have many games left today and what was left was junk(to me).

Just got back from the Daly City, CA KB. They are doing the sale on Sat....I tried to reserve some games but the guy behind the counter refused - "I haven't even saved any for myself, yet." :P

Rock Hill, SC (The Galleria Mall) - 20% sale, not the $10-20

I was stunned that the Galleria store wasn't going out of business or pulling their games. Thankfully I didn't allow my hopes to get too high on this deal.

I am going to the store tomorrow. My bet is that the sale is going to happen, but I am not going to fight through a crowd for these games. I will be there early and just hang around if there is a crowd. Maybe something will fall out of somones hands and end up at my feet or something.

By the way, these prices are nice, but most are just $10 off variety. So the deals are not killer. (Nice, but not deals you can get in a couple of months....) But maybe that is just me rationalizing...

The Northern VA KB at Tyson's has been out of business for a while now. This "new" KB is some kind of toy outlet for KB where they're just trying to get rid of old toys. They're actually closing in Jan.
(only open for Christmas, I guess). So don't waste valuable time going to that one.

I also contacted the KB at Manassas (VA). They are doing the 20%. (If you're looking for older stuff, this store's good. I found Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance there just this last weekend).

Fair Oaks Mall (VA) -- still no idea (although the clerk told me he's heard rumors).

KB Toy Works at the "Corner" (7 Corners, VA) is going out of business so I'm assuming they have some kind of clearance going on.

For all the NoVA people, where in NoVA do you guys live? I'm in Alexandria.

I'm in Arlington. I guess Pentagon City for me too :)

Well.. My store is one of the freak of nature KBs. We have a full room, almost the size of a small EB, that people can walk in, and choose their OWN COPIES of games, rather than the traditional KB method. Here is an excerpt from the mail pack, so you guys will know the deal in most stores:

"Merchandising:
Stores will need to group all the video software titles together by pricepoint behind the register area. Example: all 9.99 games for all platforms should be together, startng in the first 4ft section behind the counter, and continue with 14.99 and 19.99 games. Use as much space as needed. Use the remaining sections behins the counter to display the rest of your video software."

So, all of the pricepoints are grouped together, not a bad idea.

In my store, everything is still organzied by system, the crap games in the bins, the GOOD deals on the Best Buy like racks

I'm confused as to why another post was made on FW. I mean, the last thing you want is for all the lurkers and eBayers to go early in the morning and buy everything up.

The first post was done to make sure credit was given, but why make a completely new post? If you were concerned that someone would have posted the scans first, then it wouldn't have mattered because the mods would have deleted it as a repost due to the earlier post about the sale to begin with. Why not post the scans in the original thread and make it easier on everyone.

I just think that you will keep playing with FW until you start to get burned like everyone else does from the profiteers, and then your loyal members here will be none too happy.

The local KBs around me close at 10 pm and open at 8am for the holidays so I went down to the closest one and they had hardly anything from the clearance list. I picked up Moto GP 2 for the Xbox and Pride FC for the PS2. The manager said they would price match the sale price so I can sleep in tomorrow. I was hoping to pick up Amplitude and NBA Street Vol. 2 but after calling all the local KBs, none have them in stock. It seems many people will be in for big disappointments tomorrow as they did not get any new shipments for this sale and are just pulling the stuff from their current stock that is on the list.

Actually, I think it's the other way around, the stores that won't be selling games have 20% off all games (as they need to get rid of every game), the stores doing the 9.99-19.99 sale are just trying to clear out a number of certain games.

I just got back from the Dulles, VA store. The place was dead, so I had plenty of time to fish out what titles I wanted from the "master" list CheapyD posted. Didn't have much luck, but did manage to pick up Xenosaga for $9.99 and P.N. 03 for $19.99. Although I didn't even dent the list I made, I'm happy with what deals I did get today. I just went to the $10 sale and got Xenosaga. Not all the games are that are supposed to be on sale are marked that way. I wanted Panzer Dragoon, but it was marked as $30 and I asked them to price check it and it came up as $30 so I couldn't get it for $10. Just a warning, you may not beable to get every game at the price mentioned at this site.

Was first in line at the Tukwilla, WA store out of three (all of them saw the list on CheapAssGamer.com :lol: Picked up Dino Crisis 3, Alter Echo, Panzer, F-zero gx, D&D Heroes, and two Boktai's for $108.oo (thanks so much for the post and for the site) MMMMM, videogames. A note that this and the Walla Walla store were supposedly the only two in WA, doing the 9.99 to 19.99 sale. When I left they still have quite a stock especially PS2.

I went in there mainly for F-Zero GC and no luck but I did pick up ESPN Football for $19.99, WSB 2K3 for $9.99 and Indy XBox for $14.99 As far as stock no HOD GBA, no more WSB XBox and only one more of the Xbox versions of ESPN Football and Indy. Glad I went early as they didn't really have much. This was at 8:00 this morning.

Me and my girlfriend both woke up at 6am to head down to the KBToys in Northshore Mall, MA. We got there at around 7:30am, 30 minutes before the store opened, with NOBODY else waiting. When they opened at 8, we were still the only ones there, and basically got to take our time picking games. We ended up with:

Went to the Brookline & Cambridge, MA stores today. Both stores had the 9.99 - 19.99 sale, and a fair selection, although I suspect the Cambridge one will dwindle fast (mall/store was packed). I snagged the last Panzer Dragoon at Brookline (still left in Cambridge) and MGS2: Substance (xbox) for 9.99 apiece. I wanted Ico or NBA Street 2 (xbox), but saw neither.

Just got back from KB Toys. I went to the Glendale Galleria, and there selection was horrible, and the line was long, so I didn't pick up anything. So my mom and I decided to head on over to the Media City Center KB Toys, and there selection was decent.

The Glendale Galleria one didn't mark down many of the games and the selections were crappy. The Eagle Rock store was still marking down the games and in fact, I saw the official price list (same one as jt2k3 provided) on the floor with bunch of $14.99 stickers.
I asked the clerk about the Splinter Cell game (marked at $29.99) and she told me it was $14.99. I went to pay and then saw Arc the Lad, empty box (it wasn't on the shelves). I asked the clerk if there were any more copies and she looked. It was a terrible messy there. Games were all lying on the floor. There were people still waiting for their games too. They only had the display Splinter Cell (gave me the disc & manual with the display box). But I got a new copy of Arc the Lad. I also asked for Dark Cloud 2 but no luck. I saw the empty boxes on the floor but the clerk said they couldn't find the game for a while. I saw at least two hundred games all scattered on the floor (behind the counter on shelves and floor) and these people can't even tell one game from another. Whats even worst is that they give up easily and then give you the display one (if available).

Yeah, Megaman Zero 2 was mispriced at $14.99. I'm pretty sure that was supposed to be the price for the original Megaman Zero. Also, my friend Ivars almost got Project Gotham Racing 2 for $14.99 since the same pricing mistake thingy happened, (put the sticker on the sequel rather than the old one). But they caught that mistake, as well as one on Donkey Kong Country (It was for the GBC version, didn't know that).

I just came back from the Kay Bee in White Marsh Mall (White Marsh, MD) after having went to the one in Arundel Mills (Hanover, MD) earlier today. I called them yesterday and asked if they were going to have the sale but they said they weren't. Well they are full of shit because I was able to pick up Xenosaga ($10), Grandia II ($15), Bomberman Generations for Gamecube($15), and Dead to Rights (non-greatest hits box for the regular price of $20).

What's the moral of this story? Well if your local Kay Bee tells you that they aren't having the sale don't believe them because they are probably so busy they want to keep you out of the store (so they have to do less work). Btw, I cleaned out the last copy of each of those games I listed.

It's good to show up and have a look...it's also good to know which games are on the "list". My local KB (Norwalk, CT) told me over the phone that they didn't have D&D: Heroes. But I went to look anyway, and found the empty display box on the rack, with a price of $49.99 on it. So I got into the (LONG) line and got a price check...as I had hoped, it was marked down to $19.99. They didn't have any new, unopened copies of it, BUT, as I had also hoped, they still had the game disc and instruction manual in pristine condition from the display box. So I got it, and I'm happy.

A pretty good, and costly, day for gaming. I'll start with my KB experience, then ramble a little bit...

They had just started putting the special price tags on the games when I got to KB in Cool Springs Galleria this morning. As he was tagging them, I pointed out a few that he missed, and later told him that PS2 Kain Defiance was, unfortunately, not the Kain that was 14.99, as he had marked it.
Many of the games they had were down to the display copy, so I will mark them as "open" in the list. The discs, manuals, and cases are fine.

Reasoning: I am not really into racing games (plus I have Project Gotham 2, and if I get another, it would most likely be NFSU. Silent Hill 3 is bound to be a GH before I'd get a chance to play it, so it'll be $20 soon enough. I always think I need a baseball game, and when I get one, I play it for a few minutes, then it just gathers dust.

Things I wanted, but they did not have:
Boktai GBA -- I have a copy for myself already, would have been a gift.
Broken Sword GBA -- Not a huge deal, but I like those sorts of games (had it on PC), and I have heard the conversion to GBA was done very well.
Vexx GC -- They had both PS2 and Xbox, but cheapass that I am, I didn't want to spend the extra $5.

I ran into a newby CAGer at the store, let him look over the list, and gave him first crack at the Panzer Dragoon (but they had a few in stock, so it turned out it wasn't necessary). I think he picked up Ghost Recon.

After KB, I decided to check out some of the nearby stores...

Having spent so much at KB, I decided I needed to be a little (lot) more conservative. I got an employee to price check Soul Calibur 2 Guide (knew it was a penny), LOTR Two Towers Guide (couldn't remember if it was a penny, but since I just picked up the game at KB, I wanted to check. It was), LucasArts Xbox demo disc, and what the heck, Zelda Collector's Promo Disc. The guy said the discs were each free with their respective system, I said "oh, you have to buy the system", and he said it's Christmas, and not to worry about it. When I got to the checkout, the people in front of me had over $100 worth of stuff, including SOCOM (PS2 GH) I gave them one of the Gamer's coupons that I had bought on a previous visit (one of the ones that expires next year, so I really hope they restock those soon). When I check out, the Zelda disc rings up at $99.99, but I told him that Jeff said it would be free, and he zeroed it out.

Total: $0.03, and out a $5 coupon.

There is a Gamestop in the same parking lot as BB. I always mean to stop there when I go to that BB, but this was the first time I managed to do so. I asked about the magazine with Deus Ex GOTY and Thief 2, no go. I asked if they had Ikaruga, new or used, no go. I asked about the pacman vs. disc, he said it was free with a Namco preorder, but there are no Namco games to preorder, so he gave it to me :D

Target was nearby, so I got a raincheck for NBA Jam 2004 (PS2), i.e. 34% off any "regular-priced" game I choose. I am assuming that consoles are not in the same "category" as games -- any Target employees here who can tell us? 34% off a ps2 would be sweet, but seems pretty unlikely (a guy can dream). I did end up getting CastleVania Aria of Sorrow GBA for 14.98, thus completing my GBA Castlevania collection (already had Harmony)

Total: $15.98 + $1.39Tax = $16.37

I had to visit my friend in the Hospital (Sleep study) after that, but I was pretty much done anyway.

Just got back from the KB in Newburgh, NY. They were doing the 9.99 clearance sale. They had a few copies of Ico left and some f-zero's in addition to a good amount of xbox games. I picked up Otogi and Dark Cloud 2. I am regretting not getting Brute Force right now though. Tomorrow, I am going to check the Galleria at Crystal Run in Middletown, NY. My guess is they have the blanket 20% off.

After my original finds this morning, I ended up going BACK out to two more KB stores (since I am a greedy girl and wasn't happy with the first two this morning), where I picked up Grandia II and Onimusha II. Ended up passing on Rygar although I wanted it, because my friend said I could borrow his forever because he's done.

All of my stores had tons of the usually-more-pricey games listed here, like Dark Cloud 2 and Arc the Lad, but I already have them both so I couldn't get in on the deal. Ho hum. Anyways, Games bought from this sale total 9 in all, plus Castlevania and FFX.

Yeah, I would have to agree with this. Unless specifically told otherwise that your local stores aren't doing a sale (and even then!), check the place out in person if you can. I dropped by two places on Friday, and called a third on Saturday morning, and none of them seemed to know anything about a "sale". That's why I didn't bother racing around in the morning, and instead just dropped by a couple of places during the evening. And lo and behold -- there they were!

I was at the one in Succasunna/Ledgewood NJ today. They still had TONS of stuff. F-Zero GX, Silent Hill 3, PD Orta, a bunch of others.

The GBA games were unsorted but they had plenty of those too.

I grabbed Activision Anthology, Clock Tower 3, Contra Advance and Mark of Kri. Might go back for Brute Force, Amplitude and any other GB games they had. I'm going to check the one in the Rockaway Mall on my dinner break.

After hearing the annoyances, I was surprised that the girl working there was incredibly nice. She obviously didn't know anything about video games, but keeping your sanity working retail at Christmas time is definitely not very easy.

I would like to say thanks to everyone who posted the KB Toys stores, that had the $9.99-$19.99 green dot sale, in the Chicagoland area...

I went to KB Toys last night and asked the employee for Panzer Dragoon Orta and Otogi: Myth of Demons. He scanned the shelves in the Xbox display case for a few minutes, then said he didn't see the games. I then got as close as I could to the Xbox display case, and scanned the shelves myself, cause I wasn't leaving without Xbox games. After 5 minutes of scanning the shelves, I noticed Otogi: Myth of Demons and soon after Panzer Dragoon Orta! I got the 2 games I really wanted the most! I also noticed other Xbox games I want too, but I ran out of money...

Hopfully I can go back again and pick up a few more Xbox games... :lol:

Well, I missed out on this one. For those that don't want to read 32 pgs of this thread...I had called Fri night and nobody seemed to know what I was talking about. I then called Sat morning before leaving town and they still didn't know anything so I didn't bother going.

While at a relatives house Sat evening, I jumped online to check out this thread and naturally somebody that lives in my town (Parkersburg WV) posted they had gotten cheap games there. This really irritated me (being told there was no sale). So after traveling back to town Sun evening I ran by before going home. Sure enough, theres the table with the sale going on.

I was looking for F-Zero and Botkai but it looked like the table had been thoroughly searched as there was nothing of interest to me. They did still have Metroid Prime but I already have that game. I checked with the counter to make sure they didn't have a copy behind the shelf but they couldn't find any. The girl was like "I know we had the game yesterday." Yeah, someone told me it was $50 so I passed, I thought as I walked out.

They had a decend selection, though they are idiots. There were no Xenosaga's on the shelf, but he had a few outback.

The West Covina store also had Otogi, Dino Crisis 3, Dynasty Warriors 4, D&D Heroes, Dark Cloud 2, Silent Hill 3, Panzer Dragoon Orta. and a few more copies of everything I bought. No Arc the Lad or F-Zero though.

I'm thinking of going back for DC2, and DW4. Can anyone hook me up with F-Zero or Arc? I'm sure I can pick up copies of stuff for trade.

Anyway, I went to the KB in Reseda CA....and they had no idea anything was supposed to be on sale, but sure enough Boktai GBA rang up as $9.99 and Otogi XBOX rang up as $14.99...awesome. I also picked up Crazy Chase for GBA (9.99) since I used to dig it on SNES.

Sonuva.... I checked the KB in Ocala, FL today and they only had the 20% off signs everywhere, none of the games were labeled as these prices. I still need an Otogi, should have had them check.
