The listing was removed because it violated eBay policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.

Copyright infringement is unlawful and against eBay's policies. Copyright is the protection provided by law to the authors of creative works, such as movies, music, software, photographs and books, both published and unpublished. Copyright owners possess the exclusive right to reproduce the copyrighted work, to distribute copies of the copyrighted work, and to perform or display the copyrighted work publicly.

eBay prohibits the listing of unauthorized copies of copyrighted works. Unauthorized copies include (but are not limited to) backup, pirated, duplicated, or bootlegged copies.

Guideline: If the product you are selling is a copy of another work that you aren't authorized to copy, don't list the item. Beta software, test software and evaluation software are not permitted on eBay. These are pre-release copies of software distributed by software developers strictly for the purpose of evaluation and troubleshooting. Distribution of such copies violates the software developers' copyrights.

You need to obtain the manufacturer's consent to sell this kind of software.

It clearly says right there

So whats the problem?
So ebay didn't catch most people if there are others for sale, but they caught you and told you why....so.....yea...

It was a DVD... the beta code is on a paper insert inside the case. The disc itself isn't 'beta software'. ;)

Well in that case was it Sealed? Or did it include the Code?
If so, still beta.
If not, guess ebay considers it one and the same.

How is it beta software? All it includes, if anything, is the online beta key which the person uses to download the beta software and access. I'd argue it.

Thats like saying "I'm selling you a map that will lead you to two-pounds of weed." (although I don't think that is illegal)

The email says its against the publisher's copyright, just sell it elsewhere.

Its the only way to access the software so selling the code is essentially selling the Software itself.

Damn, sorry to hear OP. I sold mine a couple of weeks ago w/ no problems, but I included a Vol 1. However, right after my auction ended, some douche stole my pics and used them for his sale. Lazy SOB got reported and taken down, I worked hard as hell modeling my DVD's. :)

well if your code was included in the auction I think they'll take it down. If you just sold the DVDs without mentioning the code (even if you include it) maybe you could've gotten away with it.
