Actually Boon said there would be a handful of characters that carry over....i dont know if he meant there would be new characters. But 20 of the 64 or whatever MK characters seem like a handful. This game better have at least 15-20 characters from each side or more.

I haven't really played an MK since UMK3 so I'm not really a fan. I'm a huge DC fan though so this is just disappointing that Capcom didn't get the license to make a game. I would have been content if they slapped some DC characters on X-Men Children of the Atom and called it a day.

- MK warriors battle DC Heroes for the first time ever.
- Two all-new fighting mechanics - FreeFall Kombat and Klose Kombat.
- Klose Kombat is a brutal up close fighting mechanic, with damaged and torn clothing.
- FreeFall Kombat allows characters to throw people off buildings, through buldings, fighting on their way transitioning to the next area.
- Signature attacks for all MK and DC characters.
- First video game mash-up for either franchise.
- Jimmy Palmiotti and Justin Gray, helped with the mortal kombat team to write the story mode.

TRMK Interview (april 18, 08)
- DC writers helped authenticate the DC charaters phrases, reactions.
- Superman has two weaknesses, kryptonite and magic.
- Netherrealm and Outworld are mentioned as places Superman could be vulnerable.
- Characters are over 20,000 polygons.
- No multiple fighting styles.
- No weapons.
- No Puzzle Kombat or Motor Kombat.
- Single player story mode is in, but its not like the konquest mode.

- Boon is unsure if the story will be cannon, will decide when they start making Mortal Kombat 9.
- Both heroes and villians will be in the game for each brand.
- Fighting Styles are not in the game.
- Fatalities wont be in the game, but finishing moves will.
- Midway wants the game to be rated Teen, but will try to push it to the limit so its 1 step away from Mature rating.
- Game will be playable at E3.

I think people are mad about this games lack of the fatalities. From the video it looks like it does have blood. I normaly would just say "meh" to this and not care but from what I keep reading if it is lacking them that is what made MK what it is you can not take them from the game and have the same game. I don't think DC fits in with MK but will still give it a try.

Tanya was evil the whole time, but they'd prolly put millenia in there instead of her anyway. For some reason I get a feeling that if Li Mei isn't in there, Wonder Woman will get her move set, it's almost a perfect fit for how I'd imagine her in a fighting game. :rofl: Jax vs Green Lantern (John Stewart aka the black one) is more like it. Steel hasn't been the same since Shaq fuck'd his character up in the movie. One character I'd kill for would be Nightwing. Bonus points if he has an Eskrima fighting style since Batman will likely have his gadgets.

This may have had more appeal if it was just a straight DC fighting game. Making it MK doesn't really add value to it, it adds curiousity. Most of us are only paying attention to the DC part. If it was marketed as a DC game from the makers of MK, then they might have a better stew going. Seems they're thinking "Oh Marvel Vs Capcom worked! It'll work for us too!". They should have tried a DC fighting game first. Then if it worked try a VS title later down the line. Like Capcom had hits with X-Men CoTA and Marvel Super Heroes. This may have had more appeal if it was just a straight DC fighting game. Making it MK doesn't really add value to it, it adds curiousity. Most of us are only paying attention to the DC part. If it was marketed as a DC game from the makers of MK, then they might have a better stew going. Seems they're thinking "Oh Marvel Vs Capcom worked! It'll work for us too!". They should have tried a DC fighting game first. Then if it worked try a VS title later down the line. Like Capcom had hits with X-Men CoTA and Marvel Super Heroes. Then they had a hit with X-Men Vs Street Fighter and so on. Now thats a formula to follow.

Yes we have. All of the MK characters and all of the DC villains will have fatalities. The DC heroes who don't kill that often will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities but don't actually kill the opponent.

Midway has just announced that the upcoming Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe will indeed have fatalities.
According to series creator Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe will have fatalities. Many gamers have had mixed reactions when Midway first announced the game, and thought the series was heading in the wrong direction. Ed Boon confirmed that all the MK characters and DC characters will have fatalities. But unlike the MK characters, the DC characters will have brutalities that will function just like fatalities, but not killing the opponent. Aside from the fatalities, the game will also introduce a story mode explaining how the MK characters and DC Universe collided.
More information on Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe will become available at next month’s E3 Expo in Los Angeles. Anyway, now this has peaked my interest.

New characters are set to be announced every couple of weeks via different distribution channels.
Close-combat will be almost like a "boxing match", where blows will be handled in a "rock/paper/scissors" manner.

The MK characters are "true to MK", but the game itself is not part of current canon including Mortal Kombat: Deception (http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/games/mkd) and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (http://www.mortalkombatonline.com/content/games/mka). If anything, it could be considered an "alternate universe".

Yeah, i hope moves are easy to pull off. I havent been able to get into any fighting games for 360 since their dpad is junk and i suck at using analog sticks for these type of games.

Havok is good and all, but I think the companies are starting to use that Euphoria engine now. It's just that these are just all physics stuff, but I'm not cramming for long hair chicks with wavy hair or what not. DOA beach volleyball tried that, and it's just on par with the weird over jiggling boob physics.

Also for the "guest" fighters like sc4, midway isn't going to get like manga artist like how sc4 is doing it. Well those are actually bonus fighters. Man it seems like Tekken and Street Fighter are going to be the only fighting games that don't have these fighters that are in no way part of the canon of their series.

Personally i think they are going to stay away from adding more ninja clones. We already have Sub and Scorp. So i dont see Chameleon, Reptile, Ermac, Noob, Rain, Smoke, etc in the game. There are only 10-12 MK characters, they probably wouldnt want to waste it on a few ninjas and leave out someone like Raiden, Kang, quan chi, shao kahn, baraka, or other more unique characters. I could be wrong.

Plus with Sonya already in the game, i think there would be only 1 maybe 2 more female MK characters. Same with the DC side. I think we will see 2-3 female characters per side depending on the overall roster count. Mileena and Kitana seem like the way to go. But i personally love Jade. So i hope she is in. I also wouldnt mind seeing Nitara.

The new Mkast says there are still secrets on the page noob.com. But i dont see anything. I can only see the hat which looks like Kung Lao, or there is a small red period under "there will be blood". Otherwise the poster looks unedited, and the source code reveals nothing.

I just saw the trailer though and it was ok. Def. better than the first one though. I like the last part were you hear "Finish Him" and Scorpion then pulls up his mask and goes on to toast The Flash, but then the screen goes to black so you don't actually see it.

The 2 characters were Liu Kang and Captain Marvel. Comic Con will have 4 new characters.

I played some of this game earlier today, it is pretty fun. I saw Scorpion's Fatality against Batman, it is just him taking off his mask and torching them like in the trailer but he just got kind of black and crispy and screamed as he died. I also saw Superman's Brutality against Sonya, he basically drives her into the ground like a nail and keeps pounding on her till just her head is sticking out of the ground. The damage model is really cool looking with all the rips and bruises appearing. I will be posting a few more details on my site later but playing this really got me excited for the finished product.

The character models look really nice in those screens. I just think the Select Screen looks rather generic at the moment. Im sure its not the final one, but so far its lacking some personality. It looks dull.

Was watching the MK vs DC stuff over at Gamespot.com.
They actually pulled off a fatality/brutality! Awesome.

Also, they said they're going for the darker side of the DC universe.
I hope that means that Joker (if there is one) will bare no resemblance to the Joker from that new DC Universe game. :puke:

This was my Game Of Show with everything I got my hands on. It surprised me the most and I couldn't stop passing by the Midway booth to get some play time with it.

Yes, Flash owns. The first time you make him do a flurry of punches was just plain old awesome.

I also got to meet Boon and that was a real thrill, let me tell you.

Also yes, Batman is somewhat bland it would seem but I didn't see much of him or play much either. I saw Scorpion's fire breath fatality and Superman's Brutality. The layout of the levels are great. Falling and the running through the walls thing are points in the game that break from fighting and turn into a little mini-game of sorts. As dose the close combat stuff too.

It will be on display and playable at comic con where two to four new characters will be revealed, more again at G|C and then whatever's left will be revealed a bit before the game's release.

Expect a demo.
