Hm. I'm torn. I kind of want to use this to pick up Lost Odyssey, but if it's still $36 w/ the coupon and Edge I'm going to have to hold off for a better deal. CAG has taught me that if it's over $30 new you should usually wait.
(Super Smash Bros. Brawl will probably end up being an exception to that rule fairly soon though. Popular first party Nintendo titles never drop, they just become Player's Choice.)

Got the following, awesome deals!
Condemned 2 - $25.99
The Darkness - $12.99
Arcade Compilation Disc - $9.74
Burnout Paradise - $35.74
Bionicle Heroes - $8.44 (Figured i'd try it out, heh)
And scored a Nyko Perfect Shot (Last one!) for $14.99
Good haul today, still thinking about picking up Project Sylpheed for $12.99, demo was decent, just very hard to keep track of what was going on. And I do want Naruto:RoaN but I don't know if I want to bite at $22.

eh. if youre waiting on a b2g1 its not a better deal, do the math. also, its always been difficult for me to get 3 games i want, in acceptable condition at one location. i usually end up buying a couple batches and then exchanging at different locations. with the price of gas, thats very inefficient.
lost odyssey i feel is the exception to waiting. its a game that to me is a must own and finding a copy in excellent condition for $36 when thats almost $10 cheaper than ebay is a solid enough deal for me. also, i can see it holding solid at a higher price for a while . i cant see finding it for under $40 anytime soon.
i really like this coupon edge deal. really beats the b2g1. its cheaper and easier.

Very true. So many times I find myself circling the store trying to find a third game. Coupons like this week's are just simpler. I was able to go in and pick up Eternal Sonata and not have to try and force two other 34.99 used games to get the most out of a B2G1 deal.

Indeed. I much prefer the % off coupons. You hit the experience on the head with the B2G1...you usually end wandering around, trying to find other stuff.

My feeling right now is for using this coupon and the Edge card, paying for two new games on the Xbox 360 is like 8-10 games used (under $20 games that is). So, this coupon is pretty rad... I don't usually buy a lot of Xbox 360 games but this coupon gave me a reason too.
Today I purchased (after reading a few people's recommendations) Test Drive: Unlimited (because I think it would be cool racing in Hawaii), Full Auto (because of the destruction), Gun and the Outfit (from recommendations on this thread) and Splinter Cell (since I own the other ones already) and I got Quake 4.
Good to see someone else bought Gun. At about ten bucks its a very fun game, I would have never paid 50 for it though.
I've been thinking about picking up test drive unlimited, what is the verdict on this game?
"Test Drive: Unlimited" is very cool. Very solid and very different from racing games which is just racing. This one, you can take on missions such as delivery, picking up hitchhikers, time trials and more. Gamerankings.com reviews have are all positive! All high 8's and 9's. For those familiar with games such as Midnight Club, similar but your actually in Hawaii (Oahu) not a big metropolitan city or in race track.
Also, although I don't have Live, I heard that online the game is an mmorpg racer because you can race but also issue challenges to people driving all over Hawaii. Now, I'm not sure how many people are still playing this online but that's pretty cool.

I tend to play a lot more Japanese-based, adventure, RTS, RPG or sports games so I'm not really into the shooting games and stuff. But I bought the XBOX 360 at launch and since launch, I really haven't played it all that much. Mainly because the price of the the next gen games. I feel guilty spending $49-$59 for a game. So, I've been playing PS2,PSP, DS and GBA games and back to PC games because you can find them clearanced at Target all the time.
But this coupon (+ my Edge card) basically gave me a chance to check out games that I would probably never buy. Again, for me, to get 10 games used for the 360 for the price of two new games is cool with me.
And the fact that I can just print the coupon and keep coming back is just awesome.
I have been playing "Crackdown", a game that I would never consider buying because it's so different from the games that I usually tend to play and I'm loving it!
I know how you feel because when I first used the coupon, I was like...wow, what should I buy? What's good? All the good stuff was still expensive, I just wanted to buy things $19.99 or under. So, I decided that I'll get around 10-15 games that were rated pretty high on gamerankings.com and understand for myself why they are so cool and bring some life into my xbox360. So, I'm happy, no regrets.

Yea, that is the downfall of the B2G1. Its a better deal from a % off standpoint, as long as you can find 3 games you want at the same price. I do hate the walk around the store to find a 3rd game as filler. Coupon is great if you just want a game or two. That said I'm still not picking up any of the more expensive games right now. With GTAIV next week I'll use this coupon to pick up some older games for cheap.

B2G1 with edge is a better deal than 25% off coupon with edge.
ONLY if you pick up 3 games worth the same amount.
And the difference really isn't that great considering the restrictions.
Best case scenario for B2G1 is 3 $55 games.
B2G1
$110
- $11 edge
= $99 for 3 games
or $33 per game
25% off coupon + edge
$55+55+55 = $165 * .65
= $107.50 for 3 games
or $35.75 per game
If we instead purchase 3 differently priced games... say $55, $45 and $35.
B2G1
$100
- $10 edge
= $90 for 3 games
25% off coupon + edge
$55 + $45 + $35 = $135 *.65
= $87.75 for 3 games
The further away from the high price that each game gets, the greater the savings will be with the 25% off coupon.
I must really not want to work to spend time on this...

Well, as someone pointed out, the coupon is from their website. The only thing is that the store employees that I have talked to seem to know not much about the coupons.
I came back to one store and I heard him whispering to his boss "the guy is back with the same coupon, he's been using it over and over" but I think it's all good because the manager rung it up and said, "cool deal! I don't read those e-mails or what's on the coupon since employees get 23% off and we can use our Edge card".

Well, it does specifically note on the coupon that it's two games per person PER VISIT, so whoever makes the coupons EXPECTS you to use it a lot. The two-games-per limit is probably just to prevent hoarders or something, but GS' profit margin on used is so high they're still making out like bandits even at 25% off. Heck, I bought 4 games (Conan, Sylpheed, Perfect Dark Zero, and Kameo) with the coupon that I wouldn't have picked up at all otherwise. They should be glad you're spending so much on used crap.

I'm trying to resist picking up Eternal Sonata, The Darkness, DOA 4, and/or some game like Ninety Nine Nights or Samurai Warriors 2. Eternal Sonata is the most tempting, though I just got Blue Dragon for $15 so if I even get around to playing that someday soon it will be weeks or months before I get to Sonata.
I really don't need any more games, but I keep telling myself that I can always get it now and have a week to return it if I decide I don't need it. :D

Reviews of Tenchu Z are pretty bad (although not as bad as Vampire Rain). Have you checked TRU for Blue Dragon, yet? I grabbed it and EDF 2017 for under $20 before tax, thanks to 20% off clearance plus the buy 2 over $10 each, get $10 off deal. Ps: the clerk had to dig through a bunch of used sleeves to find the extra disc (at my request). i want my $6.50-worth dammit!;)

I originally planned to go way overboard and get 16 games with this coupon but didn't really have the finances to pull it off this week. I think I'm gonna save up my money until the next coupon comes around to do that. I did pick up a few titles though.
Bullet Witch $11.69(Yeah it's not supposed to be good, but my wife and I wanted to try it)
Condemned $11.69
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter $8.44
Lost Planet $11.69
NBA Live 07 $6.49
Stuntman Ignition $11.69
The only other game I was really looking for this week was FlatOut Ultimate Carnage. Suprisingly I could only find one used copy in the 4 Gamestops I went to and it was disc only. I'm sure if I would've checked the other four I was near this past week I would've found it, but I didn't think it was going to be that hard to get.
Titles I'll probably pick up the next time this coupon rolls around:
Amped 3
Beowulf
Blitz the League
Dead of Alive Extreme 2
Eternal Sonata
FlatOut Ultimate Carnage
Moto GP 06
Oblivion GOTY (If it drops)
Rayman Raving Rabbidds
Viking (Would pick up today but I'm 100% sure I didn't see any used copies of this)
I have a lot of the good titles already and am pretty stingy when it comes to paying high prices for games (I rarely go over $20) but for Oblivion, Eternal Sonata, and Viking I would go a bit over. Hopefully there will be another 360 coupon before the summer ends so I can get a bunch more games before the holiday season rears its head again.

Bioshock for $23 today, or $30 new Sunday? Decisions, decisions.
Bioshock for $23 today, or $30 new Sunday? Decisions, decisions.
Are you going to open it and play it? If so, no-brainer, grab the used copy...you should easily be able to find a mint condition disk with all the copies they have
I went a little crazy this week. I picked up...
Eternal Sonata
Lost Odyssey
Devil May 4 (getting returned because I got the collector’s edition from Amazon for $40)
Stuntman: Ignition
Shadowrun
Monster Madness
Vampire Rain
Hour of Victory
Dark Sector
Blacksite: Area 51
I may go back this evening after work and get Tenchu Z and Blue Dragon. I think I need to stop.
Hehe...I bought 16 already and I'm considering going to get my last two. I wanted to stop at 16 but I think I want to get the "Command and Conquer 4" since my laptop PC has to be set at lower resolutions to play it. And maybe get the Lord of the Rings game. So, two RTS. Although, I'm iffy on Call of Juarez and Overlord.
This coupon is very awesome!
Any reason why Gamestop didn't send me the newsletter this week? I've been getting it for over a year... Could it be from registering with their new website and clicking no when it asked to subscribe to the newsletter? But, I didn't want to subscribe twice when I was already receiving it.

I sort of wish I would have gotten some more cheapo games with this, but I can't honestly think of much more I want on 360... how can that be!?

Except, for most people, their Gamestop doesn't have a set of 3 they want.
For instance, there is two games I want at one Gamestop, and one at another Gamestop... whoops, looks like I'm not buying doing a b2g1 free then, unless I get a third game I'm not interested in. Or what if you just want a good deal on one game? Coupon + Edge is still an awesome deal.
I always hated the b2g1 free because I could never, ever find 3 games I was looking for at one Gamestop, so the deal was always useless for me.
People are also getting 16 games, because many new release 360 games, Gamestop already has used... tons of Vegas 2 around here, and the coupon + Edge puts it at $35. Nobody will beat that price for awhile, unless it's some clearance, and then you have to hunt for what you want - with today's gas prices, no thanks.
I hope they keep doing these coupons in place of the b2g1 free, because I will gladly take the coupon. Besides, if you get 3 $54.99 games, with Edge + coupon it becomes $35.75 per game... with the b2g1 free, on three $55 games, you're paying $36.66 per game, so yea, the coupon actually saves you an extra buck per game without some stupid stipulation.

Someone already did the math. The 25% coupon is the better overall option, because it offers more flexibility.
ONLY if you pick up 3 games worth the same amount.
And the difference really isn't that great considering the restrictions.
Best case scenario for B2G1 is 3 $55 games.
B2G1
$110
- $11 edge
= $99 for 3 games
or $33 per game
25% off coupon + edge
$55+55+55 = $165 * .65
= $107.50 for 3 games
or $35.75 per game
If we instead purchase 3 differently priced games... say $55, $45 and $35.
B2G1
$100
- $10 edge
= $90 for 3 games
25% off coupon + edge
$55 + $45 + $35 = $135 *.65
= $87.75 for 3 games
The further away from the high price that each game gets, the greater the savings will be with the 25% off coupon.
I must really not want to work to spend time on this...

If you can find a copy, Viking dropped to $39.99 used ---- $26.99 after Edge and 25% coupon. Scored one at my local GS this morning. Great deal!
thanks dude i've been waiting for the price to drop on this game. i did some research after you mentioned that and discovered that condemned 2 was also price dropped to $39.99 used so I went hunting after work today.
scored both viking and condemned 2 like new for $26 each after the discount. Even the cashier was in shock at how much savings I made. He was like, "How do you learn about this stuff?!" I didn't want to mention CAG just to be safe so I just said something like "It's all on the website!"
guess this is the next best thing to having a gamecrazy in manhattan to take advantage of that sega sale recently...

No, but in the example noted below, I'd glady trade $2 per game in order to choose what *I* want and not be stuck with some odd stipulation. The b2g1 free is worthless if you just want one game, or your store doesn't have the 3 games you were looking for.
$2 is a small price to pay for the freedom to get any game you want with really no rules added on to it.
Espionage, your cashier didn't know that Gamestop routinely does these coupons? I haven't been to a GS yet that didn't know about this coupon. When I signed up for Edge, before I presented the coupon, the cashier at one GS even told me that if I gave him my e-mail, I would be signed up for a newsletter that had weekly coupons in it. You don't have to lie about the coupon, it's fully endorsed by Gamestop ;)

Bit on Bioshock. My last used game for awhile (MGS4, GTA4 and Mario Kart).

That is all true, except what he says last "The further away from the high price that each game gets, the greater the savings will be with the 25% off coupon." Is not necessarily true. If all 3 games are close in price, even if they are low in price you will still save more with B2G1F. For instance
3 games $20 each
B2G1F
$60-$20=$40 x.9= $36.
$60 x.65=$39.

I just got Vegas 2 tonight, it has no manual, dude told me to just call up another EB / GS that has it (because almost every store in this area does) and they'll just give me a manual, or exchange the game, because it makes no difference to them.
Spending $35 for a $60 game that has only been out for a month and a week, I will make the sacrifice of no manual... espicially since I can just go pick one up tomorrow probably.
Despite my speech on not wanting anything expensive, I figured this coupon wouldn't be around for awhile, and I just got a sub for Xbox Live Gold and needed some games to play on it, so I went with:
Burnout Paradise - $35.75
Lost Odyysey - $35.75
Darkness - $13 or something
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - $35.75
Paying almost half price for really new games, that's hot, and I'll probably play them all ASAP, and rotate them in with GTA 4.

Picked up Overlord for $12.66 OTD with coupon + edge card.
I always hated the b2g1 free because I could never, ever find 3 games I was looking for at one Gamestop, so the deal was always useless for me....
I hope they keep doing these coupons in place of the b2g1 free, because I will gladly take the coupon. Wow, I took a lot of heat just for saying I like the B2G1 free deal. I am honestly shocked that you guys can't find three games that you want at your local Gamestop; I saw Crackdown, Gun, and Overlord mentioned a number of times in this thread, and both Gamestops I stopped at this week had multiple copies of all three games. (Sidenote; one Gamestop near me also happens to have the CRAZIEST used PS2 section I have ever seen in my life. I'm talking multiple copies of Disgaea, Ico, Rogue Galaxy, Fatal Frame II, both Digital Devil Sagas, Odin Sphere, and a host of other rare/hard to find games.) As for why I like the B2G1 free deal better than these coupons...I like that with that deal you can mix and match platforms. I see a $25 DS game and two $25 PS2 games? Bam, done. Some 360 and some PS3, bam, done. Also, if you do get like priced games in the B2G1 and add Edge, that is 43% off as opposed to the 35% off you get with the current deal (which is also limited to one system), so I am a bit confused by your " if you get 3 $54.99 games, with Edge + coupon it becomes $35.75 per game... with the b2g1 free, on three $55 games, you're paying $36.66 per game," math above. Let me show you big guy;
Coupon + Edge:
55 + 55 + 55 = 165
165 * .65 = 107.25
B2G1 + Edge:
55 + 55 + (Free) =110
110 * .90 = 99
See, $8.25 cheaper with the B2G1, AND you can mix platforms. A number of people also said that the B2G1 free deal is only better if you get like priced games, well yeah if you are getting two $55 games and your third is Sneak King then duh the benefit is greatly minimized. Lets say you do a $55 and two $40 games though:
Coupon + Edge:
55 + 40 + 40 = 135
135 * .65 = 87.75
B2G1 + Edge:
55 + 40 + (Free) =95
95 * .90 = 85.50
While the monetary benefit is reduced, B2G1 is still cheaper in that scenario, plus it carries with it the added benefit of being able to mix platforms.

...how many posts are we going to do about 25% vs. B2G1?
Had Overlord and Call of Juarez in my hand, then I switched to Smackdown and Raw 2007 and Top Spin 2 but in the end I picked up the game I went in there to get which was Command and Conquer 4 and NBA 2K7 to keep things around $25.
So, for the final day of this coupon, just had to take advantage of the opportunity. This is the first time I bought multiple 360 games since launch.
Anyway, hopefully see these 25% coupons again in the near future for other consoles as well.

Well, the main reason I brought it up is that GS does one every year in early June. Just saying, if people waited 6 weeks they could potentially pick up some better deals.

Or they can just buy the games now and enjoy them for the six weeks, instead of hoping another B2B1 will pop up.

Hoping? I think the fact that GS has had their B2G1 sale twice a year, the same two weeks each year, since at least 2003 is a pretty strong indicator that it will happen again this June. And I was mainly talking about the people that went ape and bought 10-16 games. Can you really "enjoy" that many games in 6 weeks time?
