The last 75 point achievement takes like 10 plays of the last level, which would be horrible (I couldn't do it).

You should pass it up, even at that price. It's just an awful, awful, awful game. A very pale and unoriginal copy of Oblivion. It's not even worth 5$. Maybe 2$, since it gives you a original green Xbox dvd case, but thats it.

Are you a NFL 2k5 fan? Then pick up All-Pro.

Madden 07 is OK but not as good as 08. All-Pro has more of an arcade feel to it with the special moves and such.

If you want realistic and official licence go for 07. If you're just looking for fun, All-Pro.

I've owned Madden 06, 07, 08 and All-Pro and Madden 08 is the best. All-Pro was fun but I tired of it quickly.

Which EB did you go to? The EBG around Mississauga was giving us a $15 TIV for AC. Turok - which is a brand new game was only $22.

I took my AC to BBV for $35 and Turok for $35 as well.

I talked to one of the EB managers today and he said these titles were slow moving inventory they wanted to clear out. He did not indicate if this was a precursor to a larger sale or not.

Sad thing is, they do put up with a LOT of crap from children, parents who leave children in the store and idiots who call them every half hour asking for new releases or trade in values (sorry guys but I have to credit them for getting annoyed with that, you try putting up with people asking questions that really should only pertain to in-store).

Most clerks have the ever so annoying elitist attitude, if you aren't pre-ordering, you are lower than scum. If you have a direct question about older games, you are stupid.

I despise EB in general, I've just switch to Microplay or eBay for the majority of my games and never looked back unless it's an exclusive.

Unlikely, there are lots of rare (hell, all of them except Myst are rare :lol:) good adventure games that are worthless. And Touch Detective wasn't all that well received. Still a hot deal though, I paid like $20~$30 for each of them and was throughly satisfied :)

I hate when the floodgates open like this on red flags. I genuinely believe that most of the people on this forum bought a game to play it (personally, I bought Chibi Robo, its pretty good). Buying 40+ copies of a games is ridiculous and totally slap-worthy towards the idiot that conceives this idea and than acts upon it. P.S. I personally have two Mom and Pop (personally owned) video game stores near my house. These people work very hard to make a living, are genuinely very nice, and actually show interest in their customers (e.g. one guy asks how my family is doing, how was my day, etc.). I was a member on RFD long before I found CAG, but I'm glad I came here as the members are more helpful and there are less hoarders. Because of CAG I was able to get 5 games in this sale, the ones I wanted most. If this was posted on RFD first I probably would have gotten 0. I don't think RFD is all bad though, just like most places there are good and bad members. The problem is it is so large that the bad members tend to ruin the really good deals quickly

Yeah, but as mrelusive said, even at $50 Quake Wars isn't worth it. When you consider Enemy Territory (the original) is FREE, it just feels like an expansion, not a totally new game.

Saw Stuntman Ignition and Fantastic Four at EB in Markville Mall. Decided to hold onto my money. It should still be there if anyone is interested. They stopped selling used blu-rays or something! I remember seeing a big stack of them a few months ago but now they're all gone. Workers there said they don't sell them anymore. If anyone can pick up a used copy of Spider-Man 3 for me, would be much appreciated. Picked up FES today, and unsurprisingly, have been too busy to even read the backcover. Oh yeah, how exactly does Halo 3 Collector's Edition work? I saw the Normal one and the Legendary Edition in the black cube cardboard box, but didn't see any Limited/Collector's Edition.

It doesn't make much sense to me. Why go through the hassle and cost of importing a bunch of games only to cut prices and sell them way below cost?

Also all 8 games I bought are the Canadian releases so I'm not sure if I believe this claim at all.

So what this means is, they need to sell enough copies of sonic so that they only have 730 copies of sonic in stock (2 a day, you still following?) So once EB games sells through 470 copies (just more than 1 per store, in reality) the price returns to regular retail as they no longer need to push that particular product. But honestly, I've been to ALOT of different EB's, and there really is alot of folks who don't take their job seriously, and it saddens me. One of the reasons I left. I got sick of standing up for all of the company's idiots. Problem is, too many people get hired not knowing what they're getting into. "I like games" on your resume doesn't prepare you for the stress, customer complaints, erratic hours, etc... but I digress

Preorders somewhat they file it with your phone no on their comp. But if you preordered at 2 different stores it wouldn't matter. I don't think you can preorder the same game twice at one store.

As long as you don't make yourself known as "That guy who always returns stuff" you'll probably be fine. Just don't abuse the system, and there'll be no reason for you to need to be tracked. That being said, they do try to stop people who are outright scamming. I've heard things from conference calls in the past. "John Doe has been doing these types of things in stores in this area...he has been told not to shop with us anymore" That sort of thing.

That's pretty much how all retail markdowns work (a large part of my job is doing stuff almost exactly like this). Interesting that the stock only lasts a day or so though- I'll have to act faster in the future!

How does the publisher make money from game sales, anyways? Does it get a percentage of every item sold, or does it get a lump sum every time EB orders a batch of items from them?

i dont think eb will ever have a problem making money. 95% of the time you pre-order a game, you're going to get it on release day, the money you put down is interest and it keeps adding and adding up.
