You guys don't get how this works, do you? It's almost always older titles they're trying to clear out. Good example: people spent an entire day pumping themselves up for "a classic fantasy RPG" due to hit the Gold Box in the evening...and most of them were crushed to find it was Twilight Princess for the GameCube, even though it's a damn good game and was at a great price ($20).

Maybe, MAYBE we'll see something recent on the list, but Professor Layton is the newest title I'd expect to show (and even that's doubtful).

I'd really recommend New Super Mario Bros. if you like the Super Mario Bros. games or platformers in general. IMO it's excellent. I think (and I think the general concensous) is that it's not as good as Super Mario Bros. 3 or World. The overworld is simpler and there aren't as many power ups. But it's still polished to an absurd level, has all kinds of creativity, plays incredibly well, etc. It really lives up to the Super Mario Bros. name, and in my book that's a VERY high standard to live up to.

That would be great to know. I signed up last year, and I love it (and I love that they seem to always ship UPS rather than the sometimes lamer methods if you don't have it). But...you have to figure that that $75 could instead be used towards filler when buying stuff. Maybe I buy a $20 game, and have to add in a $15 game, or a $10 graphic novel to get free shipping. So how long does it REALLY take to break even, since that way I'm sort of getting stuff I wanted anyway for free? I really don't know. But I do enjoy it while I've got it, and it's fun to not have to worry about hitting a certain price point, and getting everything super fast.

I'm not holding my breath for anything else good though. That "answer the call" I'm still guessing is Call of Duty 4, just because Call of Duty on the DS seems pointless to me, and I actually would buy FF12:RW if it was discounted enough...so it won't be that.

The second one has to be that magic game, which again, if it's cheap enough I'd consider. No real use for it, but I like magic and I used to try to perform it when I was growing up.

If it's a DS space invaders game available now then it's Space Invaders Revolution. Stay away, stay very, very far away! It's absolutely horrendous. Space Invaders Extreme, which is suppose to be really good (though I haven't played that one) isn't out yet.

It would have made more sense if it said Force, but that would be just giving it away. But I changed it and FFXII:RW which makes more sense, thanks to punkmaggit that just pointed that out.

Unfortunately I really doubt it. There's probably at least a slim chance it might end up in a clearance bin for slightly less at some point, but that's really YMMV. Just as likely it'll be $30 everywhere until it goes out of stock. I think this is about as good as it'll ever get.

Oh details details. Just because a game is the exact opposite of the clue, and doesn't exist, is no reason to discount it! Hmm...Amazon thinks Zelda is an RPG though, so maybe Destroy all Humans for the Wii qualifies as a DS game about defenind against alien attack :D
(In all seriousness, it's supposed to be a terrible game. It's by a different developer. I played the first one and even it wasn't really as good as it could have been.)

:lol: No kidding. I checked out some reviews, and as soon as I found out you had to use the touch screen, I quit considering it. Seems kind of silly and arbitrary to try to do this game on the DS when it would be hard to do it justice on the PSP which has an analog stick and 10x more power.

Seems to me the ideal DS FPS would be something that doesn't need to aim up and down. Do Duke Nukem 3D or a suped up Doom game. They could actually do something really strong, but IMO trying to cram a modern FPS onto the system, and using touchscreen controls isn't the way to go about it. (Though I'm sure from a marketing perspective it is :cry: ) (To date, I've actually played much more fun FPSs on the GBA than the DS because of that.)

Yeah, me too, but I figured there was no chance at all. I was 95% sure it was going to be Call of Duty 4.

Yup, that's what I'm figuring. Oh well, a great deal on Advance Wars is still a great day! I guess that magic game is actually good, except I don't know that it's really a game. Sort of an "alternate" software product like Wii Fit or something. It may technically be good...but that's like saying Microsoft Word or Firefox are good. Yes...but not real exciting when we're looking for new games to play!

Random thought-maybe just because it was cheaper to do, or maybe the developer already had an engine or concept they could cram into the Call of Duty mold? Does seem really arbitrary though. Ditto for stuff like Assassin's Creed, which gets a DS release, but not a Playstation 2 or PSP or Wii release-systems that still maybe couldn't really do it, but which have 10-20x more power than the DS, minimum.

Regarding the Ben 10 ideas-have you guys seen the show? It's really good IMO (the old one anyway). It's actually created by Man of Action, and it shows-just way smarter and cooler than you'd expect (and better fights than the vast majority of action movies IMO). If that does show up as a game, I'll at least check out the reviews. IGN gave the DS version a good score.
...yeah, sounds like it's a side scrolling platformer/fighter hybrid that's pretty good, but maybe the control's a little loose. I'll go for it if it comes up. But it won't, because it'll be Geomotry Wars or something :-(

My brother got Call of Duty a while ago and I've played it several times over download play.

It is actually surprisingly good, the controls work well and the graphics aren't that bad.

I'm actually more tempted to get CoD than Advance Wars.

with regards to COD4 on the DS. I think DS is a great system for FPS.. just check out MP:Hunters. I loved those controls. Although the y don't include the thumb cover in the DS Lite and that makes all the difference. MP:Hunters controls excellently.

Apollo Justice like all the ace Attorney games is too cheap to be discounted. It won't happen. Eventually the price will drop to $20 just like all the rest.

Personally I *HATED* it. Didn't like the game or the control (liked the final game even less than the demo that shipped with the system).

I'm gung-ho for it being Ben 10 but Teenage Zombies is a pretty viable choices. I tend to expect trash so I'll go with Ben10.

I like the license and the game's genre (and IGN liked the game), so I'd love Ben 10...which is why I'm guessing it'll be Geometry Wars :lol:
