Stupid Fat Kids these days.

This kid's got no future at this rate.

Man, granny said she'd whup his ass but she was afraid to go to jail. There's the problem right there, the boy obviously hasn't been punished for anything he does. And I don't mean no video games for a weekend.

1) Whup his fat ass, I mean, blister that thing until it is purple. Use a belt or a wooden spoon if you have to.
2) Take all his video games and consoles and throw them out. Anything he wants from here on out, he earns.
3) Make him work off every single fucking penny they have to pay out through chores, housework, rubbing grandma's feet, etc.
4) Make him apologize face to face to every person whose cars he hit. Have him work for them as well.

"It's fun to do bad things."

Lock him up now. Or euthanize him. Good God, look at his eyes. He ain't kiddin'...and he ain't changin'. Ever.

Spoken like someone with a complete and total lack of understanding in our criminal justice system, and developmental psychology.

EDIT Fuzi0n, yeah, he did say that. He must be surrounded by ideal role models, that's for sure.

Is this really a surprise the kid is like this?

His grandmother's SUV...that has 20" rims on it...

He's nothing more than a product of his surroundings.

There was a kid in my neighborhood that did the same thing, around 10 years old, his mother came out of the house in her Pj's and saw him climb out of the car he was joyriding in, and she just straight up slapped his face so hard he got knocked right up off his feet and into the side of the car door, the kid was out cold and that slap sounded like a gunshot.

Thats Gangsta...and child abuse, but still....

I wouldn't worry. Life and/or karma will whoop his ass before it's all said and done. At the very least the video game gods will give his 360 the RROD after his week is up.

I agree the kid isn't likely to change, but the chance is there. I disagree about locking him up (you may or may not have been serious, it's hard to tell on the net). Sometimes an old-fashioned ass whooping does wonders. I don't care for it because some people spank for the littlest things, but that dumbass kid has it coming. Someone is going to whoop his ass, and if it isn't his family members, it will be some kid he pissed off at school because he wanted to do "hoodrat stuff."

Bit of a tangent here not related to the kid...

I think the US is more eager to lock folks up for long amounts of time than they need to be. If half as much effort were made in changing the environments that contribute to deliquency and crime than in the punishments for comitting those crimes, it would make more of a positive and long-lasting difference to society.

Good lord n' butter. Some of y'all think mighty high of yourselves if you think I hold some sort of grudge against you. This is the internet, for fuck's sake.

So lemme get this straight.

1) someone says 'oh, hey, euthanize the kid."
2) I respond, in a snarky way (there is no other), thinking "wow, thinking we should preventatively lock up or euthanize a seven-year-old is not only really uncool, but extraordinarily stupid and based on a false notion of how the US Criminal Justice system functions" (think of it as the criminal justice version of that ol' gramma goin' to th' gamestore and asking for Mario Brothers on Xbox).
3) Somehow that makes me vindictive.

Fair enough, hombre.

I'll say this; you can't dislike me any more than I dislike you.

I have $10 that says you're totally right. I have another $10 that says I'm pretty uninterested in your opinion of me. Shall I PM you my PayPal address now or later?

If you say something I think is stupid, I'm admittedly quite tenacious and determined to explain precisely how it is stupid, over and over again, until you get it. And I mean the royal "you," not the jollydwarf "you." Not even the CoffeeEdge "you." And if you say something that makes sense, I'll say nothing or tip my glass in your direction.

Don't worry about it, man. Myke is trying to make a career out of being a pompous, conceited, holier-than-thou buffoon.

Hey, that's fine; just don't dare tell me I'm wrong. ;)

Now, back on topic, I'm simply working under the assumption that a seven-year-old kid who is a little bastard is not a guaranteed-for-life bastard. Developmentally speaking, at any rate; take a little shit like that and set him to rights (which certainly will involve a wholesale change in community and family for him - we should have a directory of foster parents who are firebrands, like old Irish mothers who will whoop your ass and then make you pray to Mary for forgiveness). It's far more feasible, psychologically, than expecting the same thing with a little shit in the 'hood who is 13-15 years old. They're developmentally set at that point.

But, yeah, assuming this kid is set in his ways is a gross misunderstanding of very basic developmental psychology. Sure, that may not be your fault, or your expectation to know. But if you have an opinion on something, make sure it's informed.

All I have to say is, when they first showed the kid I thought he was a fat adult midget. I bet grandma already bought this kid GTA IV though, no doubt thinking "maybe it will help him drive better the next time he 'ganks' the car."

New Update to this story

http://www.wpbf.com/news/16255951/detail.html?rss=wpb&psp=news

LAKE PARK, Fla. -- A 7-year-old boy who took his grandmother's car on a joyride last month has been taken for a mental health evaluation after he allegedly beat her up inside a South Florida Wal-Mart, WPBF News 25 reported.

Latarian Milton told WPBF on April 28 that he took his grandmother's Dodge Durango on a joyride because he was mad at his mother and because he enjoyed doing "bad things."

"I wanted to do it because it's fun. It's fun to do bad things," Milton said. "I wanted to do hood-rat stuff for my friend."

Police said the boy and a friend drove several miles through Lake Park and Palm Beach Gardens on April 27 during rush hour before finally coming to a crashing halt.

Along the way, police said Milton ran over two mailboxes, hit two parked cars in a Costco parking lot and struck two moving cars near a Wal-Mart. Milton could have faced grand theft charges, but police said last week that they would not charge the boy.

Milton's grandmother, Vikkita Stratford, told WPBF that the 7-year-old took his mischievous activities to a new level Monday when she said he beat her up inside a Lake Park Wal-Mart.

According to Stratford, the problem began when Milton asked his grandmother for some chicken wings. When she refused, Milton walked over over to the counter and ordered them anyway.

Stratford said that when she confronted him about it, Milton just snapped.

"He just started hitting me -- just started hitting me in front of the whole Wal-Mart. Every one in there was upset," Stratford said.

Stratford told WPBF that Milton hit her stomach, legs and "wherever he could reach me."

Riviera Beach police picked up Milton from his home and took him to an area hospital for a mental health evaluation Monday afternoon, WPBF reported. The 7-year-old can be held for up to 72 hours while he is evaluated by mental health officials.

Stratford said that she believes Milton's problems are due to a bad atmosphere with his parents.

"I know what causes the behavior, cause all he's ever seen was his parents do physical and abusive and verbal things, and I don't want him to continue in this direction so I'm doing the best I can to get him the help," she told WPBF.

Stratford said that she is worried about what will happen once the 7-year-old is released from his evaluation. She also told WPBF that she is making sure that Milton won't have access to her rental car while her SUV is being repaired.

"When I first got the rental he said, 'Oh, you know, let me take this for a spin," Stratford said. "So now I just sleep with the keys. I lock them up."

Althought I don't condone this type of behavior and I feel that today's youth is really out-of-control, I can't help but laugh at all the raucous the little fat kid has caused. The fact that he 'fesses up to everything and makes himself out to act like a grown up makes it all the more funnier - that's just me though.
