I just got sick of always seeing people asking about what the best cell phone plan is. Hands down, the best rates you could possibly find is SERO (however, coverage is YMMV).

SERO stands for Sprint Employee Referral Offer. Here's what you get

Unlimited Text Messaging
Unlimited Nights & Weekends starting at 7pm
Domestic long distance
Unlimited Mobile to Mobile
Unlimited Web/Data Access
Unlimited Picture Mail (with compatible devices)

500 anytime minutes for $30 / month <-DEAD
1250 anytime minutes for $50 / month <-DEAD

NOTE: As of July 12th, 2008, the old $30 and $50 plans are *DEAD*! The plans now come with Sprint TV, Navigation, and Blackberry Internet Services (BIS), and cost $30 more than the previous plans!

Steps to sign up (or for more info):

Enter for the email address: "savings@sprintemi.com"

Click on "plans", "view all plans", type in your zip code, and scroll down to "Exclusive Referral Offer". There are 3 options listed, and they are exactly the same. It all depends on what time of cell phone you plan to buy.

If you type in a phone number of a Sprint customer, you can qualify for sign up bonuses (PM me for my number if you'd like if you decide to sign up).

Add coupon code "URANG" to get a one-time $50 credit to your line of service. If htis code does not work during checkout, email or call customer service to get the credit.

Many thanks to homeland for answering people's questions in this thread. He also pointed this out:

You can dial #REF (#733) and enter the phone number of the person who referred you to the SERO plan (any fellow SDer on Sprint will do). Both you and the person whose phone number you entered will then each get a $25 gift debit card from Sprint. If you need someone's number as a 'referer', contact any of us here to help you out (to be fair, choose someone who has contibuted a lot on this thread. Just IM them, and ask for a referral. DO NOT post a request on the thread). You can get up to $300 in referral gift cards per year. All $25 credits will be added to the same debit card you get once you make your first referral. If you lost it, call 800-424-4357. You have to call within the first 15 days of activation to qualify!!! There seems to be an indication the referral program no longer works if one of the parties is on SERO. In the last few weeks some people have reported that the referral program works again. This seems to be the case, as long as you do not have a coprorate discount on your line. If you have a corporate discount, the referral credit will in all likelyhood not work.

Los Angeles coverage is perfect, if you were wondering.

I got my mom, brother and sister off their clusterfuck Verizon plan ($160 a month for 3 lines and $50 more in overages). They pay $130 now and its almost impossible for them to go over.

Man, I'll second this. I've had two SERO plans (one for me, one for my wife) for just over a year now, and it is fantastic. $30/mo for 500 minutes (I only use about 150), unlimited data, unlimited texts...it really just can't be beat. If Sprint would just sell this plan in their retail stores, they would come out from behind and become the #1 mobile phone provider in the states. It's just too good a value to pass up!:applause:

Third. $36.50 per month after taxes. I paid $225 for my phone and got $300 in rebates also (x2 with the wife getting the same deal). Also referred when I signed up then had my wife refer back to me, for $75 more in VISA gift cards. Plus $50 (x2) for each account for signing up online. Unlimited data is amazing for us because we have a beach house that we frequent with no high speed service. We can't work without a connection, so we could never go down there otherwise.

Yea. Helluva deal.

My contract ends in August (uhh, so close, but still a few months away). I will definitely be switching to a Sero plan. Thanks for posting because I am sure some people haven't seen this deal elsewhere. I was going to asks about fees and taxes (obviously varies), but if speedracer posts only 6.50, that is definitely reasonable.

I tried to get SERO so many damn times by calling customer service, but damn it is VERY HARD, they say I cant switch to SERO because Im an existing customer......What can I go? I want to plan really bad, and that savings email, I would google a sprint employee email, cause when I called to get sero they said they no longer except that email as a referal

I've had my sero account for 1 year and a half now and it's been awesome. I'm a network admin so having unlimited data and a phone i can tether is worth $30/mo alone to me.

Unfortunately, in most cases you can't switch from an existing Sprint plan to SERO. You would have to cancel (and pay the ETF), and then sign up for a new SERO plan.

I've heard of people being able to switch but it is very tough, usually involves threatening to terminate the contract and sometimes going through with it.

You might want to check SD for their Sero thread as it's pretty extensive

Wow, this is pretty enticing. Is the unlimited texting only a Sprint-to-Sprint thing (a la Verizon's "In" txting) or is it universal? And unlimited web too??? Wow.

This would amount to about half of what I'm paying now with Verizon. I could really use the monthly savings too. I think I got a year left with Verizon, but if this ends up looking good it might be worth the early termination fee. Do ETF's mess with your credit score or anything like that? Because if it really is "just" a fee, it may be worth it.

I've been on SERO for a year and will probably switch when my contract's up (another year). I hate Sprint. They have the absolute worst customer service, from two instances.

The first is when they sent me the wrong phone. After jumping through all their ridiculous hopes to get return authorization (which has to be done on the phone with their corprorate office) they gave me the address of the store I had to return it to. It wasn't even the closest store, it was pretty far, but my return authorization specified that store, so I went to it. After getting there I had to wait an hour and a half to talk to somebody. Then they told me that they only return phones purchased from them. They were pretty rude about the whole ordeal, but I finally convinced them to call the Sprint CS number on my authorization, and they begrudgingly accepted the exchange. I switched the Samsung Upstage (crappy phone) for a Motorola Q (crappy phone).

The second is when the Q broke. It was very obviously a software issue -- it would begin to boot, and then on the Sprint screen, flicker and reboot itself. I went to a Sprint corporate-owned Store (sort of far), again waited for about an hour before talking to anybody, then in about 20 seconds was told that I have to go through Motorola. I argued for a while, explaining that it was a software problem and that Motorola doesn't do the software. They argued for a while, and eventually, after he told me to leave and I refused, threatened to call the cops. When I got home and called Motorola, they told me to call Sprint. After an hour or so of arguing on the phone, they gave me the email of someone else at Sprint. I emailed them, explaining everything, and they authorized repair at the Sprint store that had kicked me out two days prior.

Outside of insurance companies, I don't think I've ever been so frustrated with a service I've paid for. It's cheap, sure, but not worth it.

Wow, this is pretty enticing. Is the unlimited texting only a Sprint-to-Sprint thing (a la Verizon's "In" txting) or is it universal? And unlimited web too??? Wow.

The unlimited text is to anyone on any network, and the unlimited data includes web surfing.

I just signed up and got the moto q. I got the 1250 plan with insurance for $56.99 a month. Other places wanted well over $100 bucks. I am pumped, does this include their tv services as well?

Let me get this straight, I can text and send pictures/videos. Surf the web and use their Sprint TV service like the NFL updates and such and never get charged more than the $56.99 a month plus taxes?

iPhone uses the GSM standard. Sprint phones operate on the CDMA standard. Therefore it would not work.

My girlfriend and I are both on SERO. I would recommend against using the e-mail address provided in the OP. We used that when we signed her up, and they did NOT sign her up for a SERO plan, but for some 200 minute plan that lacked many SERO features. It took a very long time, and many phone calls, to get this fixed. When I signed up, I just googled around using sprint.com and sprintemi.com to find employee e-mail addresses to use. Had no problem that way.

Not that it is in relation to anything but the Iphone stinks. I hate touch screen phones. Not to mention Apples products batteries are questionable.

Despite my venting does anyone know if the Sprint TV like NFL Mobile is included in the Sero plan or is that extra?

ive been on the sero plan for a little under a year now, the only complaint i have is the customer service sucked when porting my wife and my old number over and the initial set up with the phones.
But, when we signed up you were able to talk your way into 500 free txt's a month too but i think they stopped doing that.

i am paying just over $60 for both lines, and moderately content :)

Damn it I went with the Moto Q not the 9c version and I just read it isn't compatible with Sprint TV. I can however get mobiTV which would run me an additional 10 bucks. But who cares, all I wanted was my NFL Network. I wonder if there is a software download that would perhaps bring the phone up to date?

This is tempting. Couldn't be worse than my Verizon service in my home. One bar in my room, which is where i want to be able to make calls, obviously. Of course, I get five bars on remote interstates.

Science.

My plan ends next month... so I might have to jump on this. I am currently paying $65/mo for a similar amount of minutes. Only thing that sucks, most all my friends use Verizon but I don't think I touch anywhere near 500 min/month anyway.

I highly suggest anyone who wants a Moto Q to go with the q9c (one of the best phones depending on what you want, along with the Mogul and Touch).

Moto Q uses WM5 which is slower and has less features. Moto q9c has the upgraded WM6 which is leaps and bounds ahead of the the Q. There's a reason the Moto Q is only $50. WM6 is on all the new phones and is basically the best and most versatile phone OS for the phones they offer. There's really nothing you can do to get it up to date, it's like Windows 2000 vs Windows XP. It's just a new OS with improvements.

You get a 30 day trial period and can switch to a different phone if you don't like it. If you haven't had it for 30 days yet I suggest you pay the extra $100 and just trade it in.

It's a plan for new customers or new lines, so you can't extend it on your current contract.

There have been rare cases where you can port your number from Sprint to SERO by threatening to cancel, etc. but its a big YMMV. I couldn't get it to work and wanted to keep my number, so I ported it to an AT&T gophone for a month and then ported back.

I think I've got a pretty good deal with AT&T, but this SERO appears to beat even that.
What's the difference between Moto Q and Moto Q9c (other than a hundred bucks)?
Looks like SprintTV, which is, what exactly?

Is "Blackberry" just a brand name, and other phones (such as the MotoQ) offer the same functionality? Lots of folks at work have blackberries that work with their work email (MS Exchange server), I'm not sure if it's possible to use a nonblackberry to do the same thing (or if IT would allow a "nonsupported" device to do it anyway).

I got the insurance, is it possible to keep the phone for say 3 months and just say its broken and get a new one?

There has to be a way to upgrade OS on a phone, I am sure right?

The Rumor is the same as the LG Scoop. My g/f fell in love with it and ordered one it has a qwerty keypad which is a huge bonus but its kind of cramped. It also feels a little flimsy especially how it flips open its spring action.

I'm on Nextel, and you couldn't pay me to switch back to the Sprint side again. To help answer your question, I remember when I switched a few years back (right after the merger) it didn't violate my contract to switch to Nextel, since it was the same company. The same might prevent them from getting SERO.

FTW, my unlimited incoming serves me just fine.

Before X-mas of 2007, I got a Touch and a Razr2 on sero. It's great, but yeah, Sprint's CS kinda blows. For me, it's been just about 50/50 whether or not I got to talk to someone that could actually help you the right way. If you tend to not have any issues or any reason to talk to CS much, I'd say sign up for this.

The only problem with the advantage accounts is that each employee can only have 10 (used to be 20 but they recently tightened the policy) advantage club accounts. By the time family is accounted for, most people don't have any to spare. Also, the advantage club accounts are different in that the employee is liable for the account, unlike SERO. So if you don't pay, the employee has to. (another reason most reserve these for very close freinds and family that they trust to pay the bills... :))

How come Sprint forces you get a Blackberry data package for $30/mo if you want to buy a Blackberry? You already have free net with the SERO plan. It's the way BB phones are provisioned. They work on RIM's servers for the data, and the providers, (Sprint, VZ, etc) have to pay RIM a monthly charge. The companies also take a bigger subsidy hit on those phones.

That Blackberry is the exact phone I wanted. My friend has one through Alltel, and it is a sexy little beast.

But I caved and opted for the Palm Centro instead. Hopefully they ship soon; I need to get everyone updated on my new phone number before I cancel my current phone on June 10th.

The Instinct looks sweet as hell. If I buy it though, I'm sure the screen would be covered in beer and wing sauce within a month. I like the Q too but the hump in the back of the phone makes it fit awkwardly into my pockets.

I think you can actually get the Blackberries without the data plan. First you pick the SERO plan, then add the BB phone. When the screen with the mandatory BB data pack loads, just hit "back" on your browser a couple times instead of continuing with the check out. If you manually check your cart afterwards, it should have the SERO plan and Blackberry in it without any additional BB data pack. It looks like you can then advance through the checkout without signing up for the data packs.

Don't cancel your old service until you get the new phone. Your number won't be switched to the new service until you physically have the phone and you activate it.

I'm actually intending on using it as an mp3 player as well, because I'd rather carry around two mini-SD cards for 8 gigs than carry around a separate mp3 player.

Unfortunately, I can't get the SAVE50 to work... oh well :) I'm happy with this. Gets me out of my 64$ month-to-month with 1000 txts, no data and 450 mins.

Yeah go with the Q you can do music/movies/games..It's the total package. I went with the $29.99 version not the $150 dollar version of the Q. So I don't know what one you are looking at. I got the supposed "stripped down" model and it does everything I want it to and then some.

The texting plan is for members who sign up until then. Anyone afterwards wont get the deal.

So.. as nice as the price is on this cell phone plan... Sprint customer service is one of the worst... ever.

I originally wanted to keep my old number (also a sprint number) with the new SERO plan. The person I talked to said for me to keep both lines open, then call on the new phone to get it transferred. So I called back today and low-and-behold I'm transfered around to about 3 places.... none of whom really speak English. Not to mention the half-stoned lady two days ago who resigned a 2 yr contract under the old account for no reason, and just added a load of crap despite me telling her something completely different which caused dozens of problems today when people kept telling me I was already in a contract. Finally, I get an English-speaking representative who tells me that I cannot switch numbers across accounts as previously stated. Anyway, the new rep then said... I don't know why you would even sign up a new account. I explained what the last rep told me about the SERO plan, needing to do it online and what the other reps told me.

So she said that we are just going to use the 30 day return on the new account, and simply add a SERO plan to my old number, and then overnight another phone to me (which means I'll get it on Monday). She then is having me return my new account's phone to them (despite it being the exact same, when I could have just activated that phone to the old number).

So, I ask what exactly I'm being charged... Well the new phone was already charged to me, so I'll get a refund when that phone is returned. The old account is getting a new phone shipped and the account is being billed for the 129.99 (which will probably dick me out of the mail in rebate).

It would have been easier keeping the new number, but I really needed that old one.
Sprint customer service is some of the worst I've ever dealt with. Hands down.

2, sprint tv service has limited channels that are free.
3, I have the $7 insurance and believe its worth it. I didn't have insurance on my Env and regretted it when it fell into a trash bag filled with spilled coffee. Also when you only pay $30 a month, bringing ur bill (before taxes) to $37 is still a great deal
4. I used the Urang code and got $50 credit to my new account. Also people say the cod 50back works as well ($25 off for 2 months), or you can try DIC50

I originally went with the Centro, since I prefer using a qwerty pad, but since the Touch has wi-fi it tends to appeal to me more. I'm going to a Sprint store later today to do a side by side and will ask there, but anyone here know if the Touch can be in landscape mode for typing/texting?

*Went to the store and tried out the Touch, I like it a lot. Also, found out it doesn't have wi-fi as i had originally thought. Additionally, while I was there I was given an Instinct promo package(brochure, book and pen). Looks to be a nifty phone, but I'll probably wait for reviews first.

I'm looking to get a Blackberry Pearl and I've heard I can access web/email using third party clients as opposed to having to pay $39 for the blackberry plan. Also, I doubt this is true but I heard blackberry texting runs seperately from the unlimited texting provided by the sero program so that I would end up paying for individual texts if I don't go with the BB plan. Does anyone know if any of this is true or not?

damn, actually works out to be more than the family plan I now have with T-Mobile. Too bad there isn't a family plan deal through this.

We're still using the $49.99 family plan that comes with 400 minutes. The other day when I was asking about upgrading phones the person told me they no longer offer it. This plan works well for us since almost all of our friends and family have T-Mobile so most of our calls are free.

I'm tempted to switch to Sprint, pay $30 for each of us, get more minutes, and unlimited data & text. Right now I have a Blackberry but can only use it to browse the internet since I don't want to pay the monthly fee for the data package.
I've just heard so many horror stories from people that have dropped Sprint.

Ok. Q9C or BlackBerry Curve. A Mogul would be nice, but not for that price. Jerks.

The real deciding factor between Q9c and Curve is the Blackberry separate data thinggy. Is there a way around it? I believe someone mentioned it's their own separate text service or something that doesn't tie in with the unlimited stuff. Anyway, I know exactly jack and shit about what makes BlackBerries so damn special and why I should pay extra, so if anyone can enlighten me, it would be much appreciated. Also, the operating systems on both of them. The Q9C has the Windows Mobile 6 or whatever, and it looks pretty good. Any knowledge to be dropped on major differences? Thanks, guys.

I talked to a guy at the local Sprint Store, and HE SAID that it is possible to use a BB without the BB data pack. However, you have to manually add an Opera browser to surf the net, manually add gmail for email, and manually add googlemaps. He said that installing and manipulating these programs can be tricky for people who are not cellphone "smart". There is no way of changing the BB default programs (so for instance the BB browser will always be the default internet browser). Also he heard that the nav and push email don't work right unless you get the BB pack. Finally you can't do OTA installs without the BB data pack. So if you need to install corporate or personal programs through OTA, you are probably screwed.

His Bottom Line:
Smart with cellphones, dont need Nav, nothing corporate-> Go with BB
Stupid with cellphones, want Nav-> Go with a non BB

I'm fairly cell phone incomptent so I decided to go with the Moto Q9C despite its larger size.

That makes my decision so much harder. I want this plan with the free texting, but I probably won't be able to pay for the Palm Centro until next week. So I can wait until next week and pray they still offer free texting, or I can do it this week, get a crappy phone, and buy the Palm Centro on eBay later. The decision is killing me.

I had this problem with my Treo 680. I was thinking of getting the Rumor, as I've had an LG slide phone before, and I really liked it. But then again, I'm also a huge nerd, so I need my technology.

Also, I seen a guy using the touch one day. It looked pretty cool, but not really my style. I think the fact that I have to touch everything rather than using buttons would really annoy me. But on the plus side, the screen is a lot bigger.

Is there a "Song I.D." feature on any of these Sprint phones? It's that thing where you hold a phone up and scan a few seconds of recorded music, and it identifies the song. my wife has the Centro, I have the 755p. They are the same phone, besides the 755p being bigger with a easier keyboard to type with and the Centro comes with Sudoku and the 755p comes with bejeweled. Honestly I have pretty fat fingers and after playing with my wifes phone the smaller keyboard really is a little harder but isn't to bad. Especially at $100 less. Alot of people really like the q9c, but i'm so in love with the touch screen that as much as I want a windows running OS I'm probably going to trade in my 755p to get the Centro.

Yeah, I'd say there aren't too many reasons to pay the extra $150 for Touch. The biggest thing it has going for it is its size, which makes it way more comfortable/smaller than most other pocketPCs. The speed of the touch is pretty good compared to other Windows phones too. The keyboard is something you have to get used to and you have to download 3rd party keyboards in order to find a decent one.

I'm currently using it for a 30 day period and I'm thinking of returning it. The battery can drain quickly and Windows Mobile glitches to often (especially with the time). But it's overall a decent phone and it does the best it can with Windows.

It works like this. When you initially sign up for sprint you dial #733 and follow the directions. I think its option 2 to enter the phone number of the person who referred you. Each of you will get the Visa gift debit card of $25.

After that each person you refer will have to doth the steps of dialing #733 and entering your phone number. You won't have to do nothing except for wait for your money.

I've read the most you can get a year is $300 so thats:

1x being referred
11x referring

Ok just read various forums. Not sure it is legit now. but! Sprint doesn't seem to care as long as you keep it to just surfing, i.e don't go using bitorrent or newsgroups. And when they do care, they send you a letter telling you to stop it.

The tracking is through UPS. Give it a day though, as the tracking number didn't register until the day before I got my phone. People on other forums have stated that Sprint is no longer taking $50 codes, but when you call to activate your phone you can always try while your talking to the CSR.

I'm not sure, but my cousin has Sprint, and he got charged for using the Bluetooth on his phone. (Or so he says.) Can anybody confirm this? (If so, I'm returning my phone as soon as it gets here.)I doubt it since Bluetooth would most likely be handled by the device itself, completely independent of the service provider. After Verizon cut off my service I could still use my Bluetooth headset with the old Verizon phone (for mp3s and stuff).

Ok well I think I am going to do this for sure now. I am on my 5th Razr (since summer 06) and it just messed up too. I am only under contract until mid July so I might just switch to Sprint now and stop using Cingular. I do have a few questions though..

1) First off I am looking at the MOTO Q™ 9c. Is this a pretty good phone? If not any other suggestions? I know it says it has the internet and such, will I be able to use all of these features with the $30 plan? Does this mean I can log on to the web browser and surf the net, use AIM, send texts, etc all for $30 a month? I saw somewhere it said text messaging ended May 31 but the site still shows unlimited text.

2) I will be living in SE Ohio for 3 months starting in September. When I look at the coverage map for this area, Nextel coverage is "best" but Spring coverage says "Sprint coverage - quality measures not available." Does this mean I won't get any signal for these 3 months?

3) Lastly, approximately how long will it take to get the phone if I signed up today? I will need it to be delivered by the 13th because I move to Cleveland the 14th for the summer.

If anyone can answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated. I am just fed up with Cingular/Razr phones and since I only have a month left anyway I'd like to switch to Sprint now. Thanks in advance!

1) Not sure about the phone, but I'm looking into switching to it before my 30 day window closes. Seems to be alot more 3rd party support for windows mobile phones. Yes unlimited data for $30 means unlimited web and the various IM.

2) dont know

3) if you ordered your phone today, you should have the phone by Friday. They ship the phone Next day delivery from UPS

Do we need to have a real sprint email when we check out?

I noticed it had this on the last page of check out.
Or will the email on the first post work?

The additional information is required to complete your online purchase.

IIRC, use savings@sprintemi.com there as well.

just started messing around with my new phone (palm centro)! any sneaky charges I should be aware of before I start messing with the online features? Like with Verizon - you could do email using the web application, but if you used the built-in email feature it was considered a whole separate service that carried an additional charge. Anything like that I should be aware of with Sprint? I'd like to use AIM but I'll steer clear if that's some kind of premium service.

The two email programs (Sprint Mobile Email and Palm's Versamail) are included and free to use.

If you want to set up versamail to work with a school or corporate email, it's a pain in the ass to get the outgoing mail to work. If you do, PM me and I'll tell you where to find the settings (atleast with IMAP or POP3; not sure about EAS).

I wish the SERO plan showed unlimited text/data when you check it online. I guess I just have to have faith that they won't dick me over when my bill comes.

I confirmed with my Sprint CS agent that my plan does indeed include unlimited text and data. :applause: It showed up in my plan when I was purchasing the phone from the Sprint store as well. Rest easy my friend.

So let's see here... I'm going to be a first-time cell phone customer and I need to find phones for my family (all 3 of us).

I was planning on getting the Samsung Instinct from Sprint if I went ahead with this, but I'd like to know a few things first.

1) I'm going to be at college this fall... would it be a better idea to use my home or school zip code for my plan (family would have theirs at home, of course)?

2) Is there somewhere I can go to find out all the discounts and bonuses I can get with this plan (or should I just dig through the thread again)?

3) Anything else that would be helpful?

Thanks guys, I appreciate the help. If this doesn't pan out it's off to AT&T or Verizon, but I'd like to explore my options here first.

Are you using "minutes" when you browse the web? Or does it only incur DATA usage (unlimited in our lucky case)?

homeland

1) It really doesn't matter. The only way it would matter if is your going to school i na different state and they have lower state taxes on cell phones. I just have an ebill, save a tree.

2) There really isn't many discounts, it seems that Sprint has shut down on discounts. There were several around that you can try. 50back or Urang both give you $50 off your first bill

3) One thing you might want to do to take advantage of the referral program by doing this..
Sign up one account wait a week, have one of your family members order their phone, have the 2nd phone being referred by the first phone, and then do the same thing for the third phone. make a combined $150.

for those who ported over a phone number, how long did it take? I got my Sprint phone on Wednesday and I'm still on a temporary number. I don't really wanna start calling people until I've got my old number working!

EDIT: Another, stupider question... I got a Palm Centro and I have no idea how to shut it off. Any help? If I hold the power button it just turns the "phone" off (disables Sprint network) but the device itself is still on.

is it too late to apply for the "URAG" or "50off" promotions? or do I just call customer service and ask for those codes to be added?

thanks ^^

That would be the HTC Raphael. I Hear you can email sprint with those promotion codes and get them added to your next bill.

it took just a few hours to port.

I don't think the phone actually turns off. Its either phone on or hold down the power button and it turns off the phone service for "plane mode"

The phone doesn't turn off unless you take the battery out. You can just put it in 'Sleep' mode. And even when you take out the battery, it turns on when you put it back in.

Now that I got my number successfully ported, I'm gonna start getting into the nitty gritty of the features here. Fun!!!

So what's the deal with "VersaMail" and "Sprint Mobile Email" on Palm Centro? Any charge for using those as opposed to just web email? It's not like you set up an email account with Sprint or anything... you would just use those applications to access an existing email account. Still, I wanna play it safe and make sure there aren't any charges that fall outside the scope of SERO.

It says unlimited data, and I'm pretty sure VersaMail counts as data.

Anyway, I got my phone today, and it didn't activate like it should have. Called customer support, nothing. Guy didn't speak English, so I hung up while I was on hold. I drive to the Sprint store, no go there either. Says he didn't have the info needed. After another 30 minutes with customer support, I finally got it.

While I was at the Sprint Store, I checked out the phones. (As I'm upgrading from the crappy free one they have me.) The Palm Centro's keyboard is WAY to small for me. It'll be impossible to text. So I'm going to go with the LG rumor. Might pick it up later this week, I'll see.

I had the the Treo 680 before this, (same exact phone) and I still found it hard to type. My fingers are just too big. (Even though I think I have small hands for a 17 year old guy.) I didn't really mess with either phone very much. I think I'm going to go back this weekend and use the phone for 15 minutes or so. Maybe browse the web. I'll see how I like it. But then again, ANYTHING is better than a phone without a full keyboard. It's frikin' impossible for me to text like this. :bomb:

EDIT: I just switched to an eBill rather than paper, and got a $5 credit on my next bill. This is on top of my $25 credit. My second bill is going to be like $6. :D

think it's safe to go jogging with a Palm Centro? I have an armband holder that I could use. Since it doesn't have moving parts (e.g. spinning hard drive) it should be fine, right?

I'm gonna start loading up an SD card with some music to run to... but I also just realized that i can get Internet radio on this thing! this deal gets crazier all the time!

As long as you have insurance hell why not!

Got tired of the PalmOS so i'm switching my treo755p for the moto q9c, which I've heard alot of good things about. As much as I liked the 755p it just had a outdated feel to it.

edit- just got off the phone with them, wow what a horrible setup they have. Basically had to do the order twice. Just a heads up, if anyone is planning on switching their phones within 30 days, Have a sprint employee email handy. I was asked for the sprint employee email that referred me and I hadn't a clue. I tried the savings@sprintemi.com and was told they can't take that over the phone. So I told them to wait while I looked for it, did a quick google search and found one. Was abit nervous they were going to push me but it went smoothly after that. Again just a heads up for those that are planning on switching phones.
