I've always used Zone Alarm on my desktop that runs XP, but my new laptop that has Vista evidently has a hardware compatibility issue with Zone Alarm. So, what's the best Vista alternative?

I have seen some comparative tests before and comodo is pretty good.

Stick with ZoneAlarm. You just have to use the Vista specific version hence why you likely couldn't install it before. I believe that ZoneLabs are working on unifying the products for version 7.3, but currently 2000/XP and Vista use completely seperate versions/installers:

Latest ZA for 2000/XP only: http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/1012_zl/zlsSetup_70_473_000_en.exe

I've been using the Vista edition of Zone Alarm on my desktop PC for over a month now with no problems at all
