I am going to sell my comp and I was wondering is the best thing to do to format, and if so how would that be done in xp, I have never had to do that befire.

If you're really paranoid someone is going to try to steal your info, your best bet is to use something like DBAN.

You going to put XP on it? Formatting with a fresh install would be more than sufficient, since we're not really looking at any kind of a security risk that would warrant one of the total erasure software programs.

Yeah, if there is no security risk just go about reinstalling XP and do a fresh install with a format.
Also... You're selling it to your mom... Dude... I hope you're giving her a good deal.;):lol:

Pshh, of course shes my mom, and I was going to go with the xp reformat/reinstall, good to hear thats the best way.
