went to my local walmart yesterday to see if they had lowered hddvd prices yet. i noticed they only had 2 hddvd movies still on the shelf... still marked retail.

Continued browsing and found a few hd-dvds stuffed in with cd's.. so i grabbed the 3 i found (serenity, doom, alexander) went to one of the price check machines and it only read the alexander movie (which still rang up retail) so i put it back on the shelf... checking upc i found they had been scratched numbers still visible though. so i took to desk and they rang up $12.00 a piece.

so i picked up doom, since i dont like serenity.

maybe other walmarts are starting to cut them down also.

Nice price, but Doom over Serenity? You just ripped yourself off.

Maybe not--Firefly is coming to Blu--I assume they will also release Serenity on Blu--hopefully with all the special features of the DVD reissue that were missing from the HD-DVD release.

Holy crap, Walmart still has HD-DVDs? I thought every store pretty much got rid of them.

Edit: Actually, Walmart.com has hddvds for $9-15 so you guys might want to try there as well.

My Wal-Mart just unleashed a beast of a Blu-Ray aisle, so all of the HD-DVDs are gone now. It was ridiculous, just the other day they were STILL charging full price for them (except American Gangster, that was only $17)

Just picked up a $12 HD-DVD player from Kmart - so maybe ill check my WM out. Would be weird paying more for a movie than i did the player though =]

I might check this out but I have a feeling it'll be a waste of time. Doubt Wal-Mart will beat anything DDD and Amazon have.

Did they clearance it further, or did you have a coupon?

The few Wallyworlds in my area still have a few HD-DVDs left. A few titles such as American Gangster are $17 while others such as The Brave One still sit for $29ish.

Saw those at 2 and bought Bourne Ultimatum and The Kingdom for $17. There was only a few to choose from and even fewer of each movie left. Figured for the 17 and have hd and regular dvd its a good price. I sure hope Blu-ray does a combo disc. Which beat Amazon considering I have both shipping and Tax in WA....
