We know a lot of you PSP fans out there are big into sports games, and, with that in mind, we’ve just announced a special new hardware bundle built around the biggest sports franchise in gaming. Of course, I’m talking about Madden NFL, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year (big up to anyone who still has a copy of the original game).
The Madden NFL 09 PSP Entertainment Pack will include a limited-edition “Metallic Blue” PSP system, the highly anticipated Madden NFL 09 game, “NFL: In Just One Play” on UMD Video, a PLAYSTATION Network voucher to download Beats from PLAYSTATION Store, and a 1GB Memory Stick PRO Duo. That’s a pretty good deal for $199.99 (MSRP).
Our friends at EA will be pulling out all the stops with this year’s edition of Madden NFL, so it’s an ideal game to sport on your shiny new Metallic Blue PSP to make the other kids drool. Check out the close-up below, and look out for this limited-edition bundle everywhere on August 12.

Pretty cool color...I'm going to have to upgrade to a slim one of these days.

Wow, this is much better than the God of War pack in my opinion. I'm actually somewhat surprised Sony let out this information before the GoW bundle went on sale.

I think it's the same content wise.
1 new release title
1 UMD video
1 1GB Memory Stick
1 Voucher for downloadable PSP game
The God of War pack has the GoW game instead of Madden, Superbad instead of the NFL video, and I don't recall what the voucher is for.
EDIT: Looks like I'm wrong. The God of War set does not include a memory card at all, but does offer a voucher for Syphon Filter Combat Ops.
Hmm. If anything, the one thing I hate about these packs is that they show the big plastic PSP cases for the game and movie, and they'll be replaced in the PSP box with tiny UMD-sized paper sleeves. Yuck.
I wish we could get the new colors without the bundles. I don't need the extra stuff. I'm sure if I upgrade to a slim (core black) they will then release other colors.

This is a fantastic bundle, and incredibly genius IMO. All of the Madden crazy folk can purchase everything they need for portable Madden in one great package. They better market the crap out of this. If Madden 09 is online for PSP as well, that would be amazing. They really really really need to market the crap out of this bundle, especially if it has online play.

Beats was fun! Most regular consumers will buy it for Madden or the Blue PSP though.

If this doesn't have a logo or something on the back and it's just blue all around I may buy it. I want the white psp but not with vader on it.:cry:

First reaction was fuck, I just bought the piano black slim! But then I realized neither Best Buy blue, nor Target red appeals to me. Not a Madden fan to boot. No loss after all.
What's with the primary colors for new release PSPs? So ugly. We'll see a green one this holiday to complete RGB.

I really like the blue. If there isn't some sort of Madden logo on it I may get rid of my silver slim in anticipation of this.

The blue PSP is gorgeous.
However, I can care less about the game/documentary.
What is with all these weak bundles?
There is always a major flaw in one of them.
(The Red PSP is gorgeous, but I don't want an image of Kratos on the back.
As for the whte PSP, I love Star Wars, but not enough to have an image of Vader stuck on the back.....)
awwwww man I was gonna get the God Of War pack, but now I am thinking about this one. Fuck this sucks - both look so darn good.

Yeah, I hate these bundles. I LOVE this new blue color. How can I justify buying my THIRD PSP? :lol:
But...if it has a football or Madden or something on it, then I won't get it for sure. But geez, I don't even like football, and I hate Madden. I've got to buy a copy of Madden and a football video just to get a blue Playstation?
Oh well, I bet it'll sell like mad. Skipped the white version since I didn't want a Sith on there, only I like blue even more. Silver and black are booooring.

You say that like you're King Awesome, yet the reality is that it's an old model PSP, and you imported it, meaning you paid over $200 for it easily.
So, if you still want a ticker tape parade for that, then, yeah...find someone to throw it for you, I suppose.

I really like the color and 1gb but I don't like Madden so I'm going to try and get a Daxter pack before they're all gone or just get the GoW pack and buy a 2gb.

blue psp looks awesome- I'd get one if it wasn't bundled with garbage.

Actually yeah, I'd probably buy one of these to have an official firmware unit if it is just blue, not with madden's piggish jowels on the battery cover or anything.
I can probably sell Madden 09 for $10 or so when it comes out.. haha!

I like it....I hope it does NOT say Madden on it also. I still have my PSP FAT, but I have yet to firmware mod it....hopefully soon if I can find a legit battery cheap that can be hacked ;)

I like the color, but some one needs to put something on the back of it to completely ruin like they have the other bundles. Darth Vader on the white, kratos on the red. I'm expecting Madden's face, an EA logo or the Madden Logo or something on the back of this one.
