Hey guys. I'm getting stands for my Onkyo speakers finally. I didn't realize that stands were so expensive. I need 4 of them and I want to keep it under $150 if possible (the cheaper the better). Anyone know any good deals or sites? I went to Best Buy & CC and I thought the prices were too steep.
I plan to stop by Brandsmart tomarrow and see if I find something.

if you're on a budet, hands down the best speaker stands, in terms of sound quality are cinder blocks stacked to the appropriate height - i shit you not, i used to work in hifi and you'd have to spend a hefty amount to compete with them.
just cover them with something nice and you're done :D

Thanks for the suggestion, if I were single and lived alone I would consider it. But me and the wife are upscaling the living room so I don't mind spending money on it, but I'm not gonna spend $99 for a set of two. $30 - $40 is more like it.

I got my speakerstands from www.partsexpress.com, cheaper shipped than most places were locally.

A few months ago I picked up a pair of universal speaker stands from a reseller (I think it was J&R) on Amazon for $30-40. There's all kinds of shapes/sizes on there. Hope this helps!
Just searched for "speaker stands"

These from walmart are the cheapest I could find that will hold small, 2 pound speakers and didn't look really crazy. $24.88. I bought 2 pairs but had to return them cuz my Harmon Kardon speakers had an angled bottom, making them a pain to hook up to the stands. Otherwise I would have kept them. If your speakers weigh 2 lbs. or less and have flat bottoms, these stands are decent for the price.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I'll look into them. If I don't see anything at Brandsmart I'll stop buy Walmart. I remember a friend buying speaker stands at Walmart for about $30, maybe they're the same ones.

I got those Atlantic Universal Stands at Walmart. Thanks Chicagoz. They were $30 in store, not bad.
Before I stopped a W-Mart I went to Brandsmart and was absolutely shocked to see that they had only 2 types of speaker stands (one was $199 & the other was $400) so I wasn't going for crap.

I've been thinking about getting speaker stands myself. $53.24 with free ship-to-store from Walmart...
I will think on it for a bit. I kind of like these ones from Amazon a bit more.

^ The only thing that looks different is the base.

I was about to get those, but I felt more comfortable with the square base of Walmart's stands. Triangular stands tip over easier if you happen to bump into them (and I should know, I've knocked a triangular speaker stand over). Plus, I thought the amazon one's base looks too funky. I preferred walmart's simple square base better. But as long as they hold up the speaker, that's all that matters.

No problem! Glad to help.
I had to return my walmart stands and get the Harmon Kardon speaker stands cuz the HK speakers I bought have angled bottoms. I was so pissed! I had to pay $100 a pair for the HK stands (and I had to buy 2 pairs)! At least I didn't buy them from Amazon, they were $200 a pair there!
