Does anyone know if the GriD demo and full game use starforce?

Doesn't look like it, thank god. Instead it will be using Securom with online activation, which I don't have any problems with as long as they don't limit the number of activations like Bioshock did before they patched it.

Thanks a bunch for that link! I installed it earlier and can now confirm that the demo - at least - does not use Starforce. The game is optimized really well. I can run it at relatively high resolutions with relatively high settings at a totally acceptable framerate. (runs smooth at 1680x1050 on a C2D E6600 / 8800GTS 320MB / 2GB / X-Fi)
The article you linked is correct about the controls - they feel weird. It doesn't feel like there's all that much resistance between the tires and the ground beneath them. It feels like the cars are gliding on a somewhat frictionless surface and that they can turn on a dime. This is compared to games like GTR 2 and Race 07.
