IDK. I'm in the same boat. Do I want a rockin' TV or a bitchin' notebook.

My votes leaning toward the TV though and score a better gaming rig near Christmas time.

Also very true. But laptops of current day drop faster in price compared to TV's.

Wait a bit longer for the compy and you could buy one with better specs for the same price whereas the TV will still be the same TV.

There is no such thing as a hardcore gaming notebook, if you really want to take up gaming on the PC I suggest getting a desktop.

I would go even further in saying build your own desktop but I don't know if you are capable of that. A bad ass desktop (with monitor and everything else) would be the same price as a "hardcore gaming" notebook, maybe even cheaper.

That being said, the deciding factor should be, would you rather keep playing your console games and watching your movies on your old TV and get a bad ass PC or would you want the opposite?

Who cares? You never buy anything after making these threads.

Why don't you just buy both and just give me the one you use the least

Buy the TV. I just bought a Samsung 46" 1080p myself, and now I can't remember why I thought life was worth living before I had it.

Get a 30" iMac, completely decked out.

I'd say tv only for the kick ass gaming graphics on the tv. Laptop won't last too long or at least longer than the tv. Also, it will be obsolete and worthless in a year. xD

Yeah, there's no point in spending an assload on a "hardcore gaming laptop." It's an oxymoron unless you're willing to put up a huge investment, and even then, it'll be outstripped by desktops that are a fraction of the cost.

Go with the TV...it seems like a fairly simple choice to me. Then spend $1k later building a very solid gaming desktop with considerable room for futureproofing/upgrades rather than $2k now building a laptop that you can't upgrade.

TV ... a good hdtv in conjunction w/ a dvr or tivo is life altering.

The TV is the better investment, IMO.

I stopped pondering a consideration after I read "notebook." Out of those two, go with the TV. It will be a better investment, I'd imagine.
