View Full Version : Where can I find PS1 memory cards?

The issue comes up because I am getting the Essential metal Gear Solid Collection, and MGS1 requires a PS1 card. Brick and mortar stores are preferred, but I know that's a long shot, otherwise I couldn't have to ask where to find them.

eBay is hard with tons of bootlegs.

Try Gamequestdirect, they sell PAL cards which are the same as U.S. and Japan.

What type of PS2 are you playing on? A big one or a slim model?

I ask because if you're playing on a slim ps2, you can ONLY use official sony brand cards. Only the original ps2 model will work with 3rd party ps1 memory cards, the slim won't.

My slim PS2 works fine with my Performance brand PS1 memory card.

I have a fat one. Otakuman, your offer sounds tempting. I want to see how much a Sony brand card would cost me before settling on a 3rd party card, however. How much are you looking for, Madman? I'm not going to pay a premium simply because it's sealed.

Found a used third-party one for a few bucks at EB Games, I'm not really sure if it will be different in US though.

I used an unofficial Mad Catz memory card on both the PS2 and PStwo...:-k

I think I should have a few ps1 memory cards laying around at home. One of them might even be sealed I'm not sure. I'll have to check if you're interested.

Yeah, my Intech card works perfectly on a slim.

I got mine out of this pack with a controller that was $2.00 on TRU clearance a few weeks ago.
