First of all, eBay is a *terrible* place to buy anime soundtracks, as most of what you'll find are bootlegs. I'm assuming that most Yu Yu Hakusho soundtracks have been out of print for several years, so good luck finding them. But if you're looking for in-print stuff, your best bets are CD Japan (cdjapan.co.jp), Play Asia (play-asia.com), YesAsia (yesasia.com), and Amazon Japan (amazon.co.jp).

I used to use Anime Jungle ( http://jungle-scs.co.jp/en/ ) many years ago in order to get my hands on a lot of out-of-print anime CDs and some VHS tapes. I don't know how their prices stack up still but they helped me gather a wealth of Joe Hisaishi's CDs (Ghibli films and otherwise) and CDs for other series for rock-bottom prices [around $2 to $15 apiece for the real thing, not Son May or other crap bootlegs]. I liked paying $10 for a first-print of Nuku Nuku Sound-Phase 01.

Don't look at me like that. I was young and impressionable. No, we will not go into my definition of "young". MOVING ON!!

I've always been happy with them and their shipping but keep in mind that most of my orders were done around 1999 through 2001, well before they started downsizing their international staff (sadly). I can't verify their quality and expediency as of late but if they still uphold their previous quality then good on them!

Otherwise, in the case of all of that out-of-print stuff, you could see if you have any compatriots either in Japan (probably unlikely) or in NYC (more likely) to take a trip to Book Off. Yes, it's up to chance since it depends on whatever someone sold back to them, but sometimes you can find the most random things in any of their sections. Makes me wish I picked up that full set of Popful Mail drama CDs back in the day for no good reason, actually.

In the case of Book Off you're going to need someone to look for you since there isn't any online store that you could peruse or order from, if I recall correctly.

is there a way to see on ebay if certain soundtracks you want not imported ?

Not really... actually, most soundtracks are going to be imported since few of them actually come out in the US. The only way to check if something is authentic is if you find the company that published the CD, and then google it to see if they're a bootleg company.

Kirin and Kap have the stores right. Those are easily your best choices... it's best just to avoid Ebay altogether.

I can be the guy that looks for stuff in Japan if you can be the guy that waits patiently and doesn't go off and buy something only to have me mail him a few days later only to be told that you already bought it and don't want the one I just paid for.

Sorry for the rant, I'm a little bitter about someone who asked me to find them something and then did that 4 days later after I bought it...

avoid ebay for OST's because alot of them are fakes. specially if they are being sold from HK.

Book off is good stuff. There's one in SoCal as well, in Torrance. Kind of far from me, or else I'd be there rather often...My friend was telling me about one of those in Redondo Beach as well. :)

There is also rightstuf.com though I'm not sure how fast they are but I think they're official and reliable. I just signed up with them to pre-order the Gantz manga which doesn't come out until later this month so I guess I'll see.

Well, can't really say. If it helps you get an idea, I recently sent a package with a full PSP system, a toshiba gigabeat MP3 player with all the packaging, 2 gameboy games and a PS2 game all in one box for $40 which included tracking, insurance and arrived in 4 days.

That probably weighed much more than some CDs.
