Going back to school soon and I was wondering what brands and styles of clothes all you other guys on the board wear. Just list brands or stores or whatever. It'll be interesting to see what everyone wears.

i love being comfortable, so nothing beats a good pair of sweat pants in winter

T Shirts and comfortable pants, sweat shirts when it's cold...
I don't spend crazy amounts of money, but then again I rarely buy new clothes, so I can splurge if I like something.

Mostly I buy Fubu. It just seems like someplace around here always has Fubu stuff on sale and they make really comfortable clothes.
Well, at least mostly Fubu for my jeans/shorts. I just buy whatever for shirts.

Plain t-shirts of a variety of colors. I don't like paying money to be a walking advertisement for some company I don't really care about anyway.

Agreed. I won't buy anything which has as its most distinguishing feature the designer's label. Every time I see one of those DKNY or Mossomo or Hilfiger logos I feel like doing some harm of an indiscriminate nature.
OTOH, I have a huge assortment of t-shirts from computer industry and game companies acquired at trade shows over the years. I prefer the ones from obscure dead companies whose demise I predicted but accepted their venture capital squandering shirt just the same.

On somedays, I will wear a Chicago Bulls shirt (big Bulls fan) or a shirt from the college I go to.
As for shoes, I like to wear mostly expensive, Nike or Air Jordan basketball shoes. As of right now, I wear one of my four pairs of Nike Shox.
I don't like urban wear.

I wear the most exclusive & expensive thrift shop clothes I can find.
You can find AWESOME deals on some clothes. Got a brand spanking new pair of DKNY jeans for $10 a couple of weeks ago.
Just wash them well. Blood isn't too hard to get out :) jk
Also, not sure if you all know about a store called NBC (name brand clothing). They have one in Topeka. Lots of awesome & super-cheap clothes. Lots of Tommy H, DKNY, South Pole, etc. Usually they are returns/closeouts from other stores. You just need to look out for a minor flaw here & there on the clothing (Make sure the zipper works, all buttons, etc.)
Wal-Mart is also a good place to shop for clothing.

seriously what the hell kind of question is that? Are you that pathetic that you NEED to know what everyone else wheres to fit in.. you must be still in junior high or something... Are you that insecure with yourself that you need to feel like to fit a group perfectly?? that you need to feel that you belong. clothes dont matter and especially in a video game site like this.. grow up

Well I work at an American Eagle so I obviously wear that. I always wear Polo, Hilfiger, Club Monaco and Banana Republic. I'm a firm believer that looking good is half the battle. Also its a real good cover up when you want to make good with those hot girls who don't accept nerds like us. It's a real good way to...cover it up. Gamers don't wear Banana Republic, BS we don't.

Actually, not really. Just because someone posts what they are wearing does not mean that I'm gonna go shop there. Everyone wears different stuff and I just wanted to ask an honest question and find out what people that post on these boards wear. And seriously, all the nubsicles with freaking 10-20 posts just going around flaming everyone. It's disgusting.

Usually nautica/timberland/clairbourne shirts that have an insanse MSRP but I get cheap beacuse I always hit places like Lord & Taylor when they have a clearance. Even better is when the guys working the register screw up and manage to give us a further discount or even make items free. Wholesale clubs like BJs and Sam's usually have nice shirts too. The most recent purchase I made was for these 4 Clairbourne shirts made of rayon . The tag's MSRP was $66 and Sam's was selling them for $9 a pop. You bet I grabbed 4 of those suckers fast.
P.S. I have no clue what rayon is or why shirts made of it seem to be so pricey so if anyone has info on it then feel free to post and enlighten me.

Ecko, Sean John, Rocawear, Phat Farm. Those are the Jeans and Polos and button down shirts I wear. T-Shirts is another story. If looks cool, I'll wear it. Free Shirts from Gamestop, A nice ecko/ marvel on sale, Trigun shirt at Suncoast. Cheap, but good.

I get most of my clothes from Marshall's, which is one of those discount stores that sells store returns and flawed clothes from big name department stores. It's all brand name, and it's all very cheap. I also shop at Target and JCPenny, but only during their big sales.
I wear all different brands. Old Navy, American Eagle, Express, Billabong, Hurley, Ocean Pacific, Arizona, FTL, and others.
Shoes: Expensive and rare Nike's, Sketcher's casual dress shoes, and two pairs of expensive Birkenstocks.
Reality's Fringe
08-22-2004, 05:11 PM
Heh, Birkenstocks....At anyrate, I wear a good deal of Ralpg Lauren for some reason. I really don't know why, it's just somethign I started and never stopped. I also wear a good deal of Old Navy Jeans. They're relatively cheap and they're REALLY good quality too. I'm wearing a pair right now that look new but are almost a year old. I also have this SWEET shirt I made at Cafe Press which totally pimps Jeff Goldblum. It's awesome,. and confuses everyone.

Quicksilver, Aeropostale, and Tommy Hilfigure are some of my favorites. I really like cargos or jeans (i rarely ever wear sweatpants out of the house) and a t-shirt or sweatshirt.
captainfrizo
08-22-2004, 09:13 PM
I wear Adidas shirts, shoes, and jackets. I don't pay full price, I wait for clearance sales. I have some basketball shorts that I got on clearance. Most comfortable things I've ever worn.
Undershirts I'm not picky with. Cargos and other shirts I get whatever's on sale at whatever store I'm at. My jeans are mostly Levi's though.

08-22-2004, 09:32 PM
ohhh lets see, i take alot of shits from my dads shop(well he lets me have them) so i have alot of BUDWEISER ones, some fishing ones. i buy alot of shirts from the clearance rack at footlocker so alot of adidas shirts, jordan shirts.
TONS OF SKATEBOARDING SHIRTS(passed down from a cousin(!!!) about 15 were never worn cuz he got out of boarding so i got em FREE
i usually just wear some walmart jeans, or some dickies pants or shorts(black/dark blue)
CaseyRyback
08-22-2004, 10:15 PM
Nautica(most of my shirts and a few pairs of shorts), A&F shorts, Levis pants and AE pants and shorts

Shintenrouken
08-22-2004, 10:19 PM
For a special occasion, mostly weddings, or other special occasions (there are a LOT of them) I usually go with Mercer Street Studio (luckily I get it when its on clearance).
For everything else, I just usually wear jeans (not too picky about brand names) and blank T-shirt (different colors, once again, not picky).
When it comes to school, I don't really have a choice. It has to be a Polo shirt with the school emblem on it, and dress pants, but I do express myself with Florsheim shoes (once again, sale prices rule!)

I'm more of an Amercian Eage/Aeropostale/Kohls kind of kind. I just like Aeropostale, because they have some sweet boxers! I wear K Swiss, but I have about $75 Soccer Cleats $75 Football Spikes and $60 track shoes...

To be honest I dress as plainly as possible. I am 6'6" and I don't need to stand out any more than I already do. I don't follow fashion trends because most trends are started with popular music and I don't live the music. The only thing I always buy name brand is shoes. I prefer Nike and Converse but I'll wear Reebok on occasion.

Ya, I get most of my clothes at outlets, on clearance or at ross. I like designer brands more just because they fit better. But for just hanging out with my friends I really dont give what I wear. The most I've ever paid for a shirt is 20 bucks and that was a kenneth cole shirt I bought on ebay for parties and special occasions. You guys should check ross out, they have some great stuff.

Being a cheapass afraid of thrift shops/goodwill (you never know WHERE those clothes have been or WHAT they have done) my wardrobe is almost completely furnished by the clearance racks of Old Navy, Target, and when I'm really feeling like splurging, Gap. I like getting shoes from the Sketchers outlet. And outlet shopping at Gap and Old Navy is the best.
Cargo pants and drawstring pajamas are the most comfortable clothes to wear while video game playing, next to being naked.

I go clearance all the way. Being married made me lose whatever image of cool I once held. I love going to the thrift shops and getting old ass 70's style clothing. A few months ago I picked up a jacket like the one Tyler Durdan wore in Fight Club for 5 bucks. Awesome jacket, but my wife absolutely hates it.

I couldn't disagree more. You can easily look good without spending the insane amount of money some stores charge you for the name-brand clothing.
After high school, it really doesn't matter what kinds of clothes you wear as long as you don't look like a slouch.
I like to dress casual, but I still think I look nice, and I never ever spend the money to buy name-brand clothes. Old Navy or Target is always a good place to get some pants or shorts. I usually buy my shirts from them, Thrift stores or find clearance items from various stores.

Dude, GA is married with kids. I think hitting clubs and cruising for hotties are pretty low on his priorities.
And does it make you feel good to adhere to a lifestyle in which you are judged upon income and looks? I can only pray that I don't have that mindset by the time I enter the 'real' world.
Spending more than $15 on any one piece of clothing besides shoes is ridiculous.

I agree with Grave Addiction. Those are the kinds of clothes stores that people shop in before they grow up, i.e. the late high school/early college years. Older men that persist in shopping at these stores are often gay.

of course my advise isnt for everyone but im sure i would get more opposition for my advise on a videogame forum than other places. Comicbook guys, videogame kids, computer geeks. They all have a reputation for a certain dress for a reason. I on the other hand do not like to advertise my interests when i dress. And yes tan girls are hot, and pale girls can be very hot also, but saying that a tan girls is distgusting is something that would defintiely come from a videogame forum. And i dont say to just dress this way going to clubs. look good in everyhting you do

Congrats on graduating, and you're right, if you've got the money to spend, go for it I suppose.
It just sounds like your rationalizing your purchases with the thought that people will see something inherently wrong with you for not buying ridiculously overpriced brand-name clothing.

Why the sudden hostility against 'geeks'? The fact that I refuse to waste money on name-brand clothing makes me a nerd?

Also i have tried cheap clothes and they all break apart and are worthless shit. Anyhting i have purchased from old navy ect. hasnt lasted a year, all my good brand name clothes i may have for the rest of my life. maybe when u grow up you will see that u get what u pay for. and oh if u maybe dressed up to go to work everyday u might learn some things also

i know grown mean that have more responsibilites than u will ever know and their wardrobe is probably worth more than any 10 cagers will make for the rest of their lives. theres a difference bettween grown men that are blue collar and strapped for cash(nothing wrong with that). and men that pimp the mercedes live in a nice house, have a hot ass wife, kids in prep school, wife out playing tennis in the hot little skirt today, and looks good in his office dressed nice, with dinner parties and glad handing other socialites. its all wear u r from and where u wanna be

And I'd like to see all your brand name clothes comfort you in old age when you realize you have to keep working forever and can't afford to retire. The idea of clothes lasting the rest of your life is laughable.

old age?????
who the fuck cares about what u look like in old age when u are retired are any of us that age yet?? it wont matter at that point. but it does matter up untill age 50. any 40 yr old gamers even hear now??? what maybe one.... none.... i dint think so. look good when u are young and if clothes are gonna make you broke and take away your retirement then i guess u didn't do shit with your life and will die penniless. of course everyone will slow their clothes expenditures at an older age. but live for today and look good. yes my father has shoes and clothes in perfect condition that are still very classy and in style that hes had for many years and i have some pices that are incredible and will never go out of style and last forever. guess what the key is.... can u guess... huh...dont wear the shit out of it, have enough clothes that there is always somehting else to wear. If clothes money will destroy me at an older age then i should kill myself cause i didnt make shit for money and im poor

Very casual. Jeans and t-shirts and reebok shoes and the occausional reebok hat. The only the thing I really spent money on was my leather jacket. I'm 6'4 had to get it at the big and tall shop freaking thing cost me an arm and a leg but worth it.

I wear nothing when im cagging or playing on xbl. Naked=cheaper and free breeze.
When im at work, and out at B&M CAG stores I usually dress buisness casual: Button down shirt, slacks, belt, boxers, socks, boxers, penny loafers and contacts.
And about this retareded post war, its true clothes do not make the man or woman, but they do make the impression. Wear what you want but don't bitch about not getting that promotion to senior burger flipper or how your girlfriend's parents hate your guts

CAG1000, your posts are amazingly idiotic and unbelievable. Why are you trying to turn this into a contest? Casual clothes do not have to be the best looking things in the world much to your disagreement. And your morals in life are pretty damn fucked up, maybe it's just because your a teenage guy and aren't really sure about anything yet, (no offense to the teenage guys out there, I don't mean you) and also you act high and mighty and say that dressing well is important? Isn't also attitude important, and how you convey yourself? Even on a message board you should have the proper edicate to at least put a period at the end of your sentences. Typing like a 5 year old child will not get the point across to anyone here if you truly believe that "clothes define who you are", which they don't.
