Kojima will be signing autographs, and the store will be selling limited edition t-shirts at the store that can only be found in their NYC and Japan locations.

Posting this everywhere:

IN FACT, anyone reading this, please know I'm interested!

I'm willing to pay for YOUR copy of MGS4 as well. I'll even trade an LE for it (even though you won't be able to get that signed :( ) !

Also willing to trade some classic games for it if money ain't what you're looking for.

I have all the goods... Suikoden IIs, Panzer Dragoons, etc...

If anyone would be kindly to help ;)

Thats about signing the game, this thread is solely about signing the T-shirts at UNIQLO I believe. Heres the press release:

"New York, NY. June 6, 2008 -- UNIQLO USA announced today that it would be hosting a rare autograph signing session with the legendary video game creator Mr. Hideo Kojima on June 12th in its Global Flagship in Soho, lower Manhattan. This special session is to celebrate Konami’s North American Launch of the latest episode in Mr. Kojima renowned tactical espionage action series Metal Gear Solid®4: Guns of the Patriots and to commemorate UNIQLO’s limited edition series of MGS4 collaboration t-shirts.

About the session-
Mr. Kojima, together with Ms. Kikuchi who is the game’s Raging Raven character, will be at UNIQLO USA’s Global Flagship store at 546 Broadway to sign autographs from 5 to 7pm. The session will be on a first come first serve basis and is expected to accommodate approximately 300 fans. Limited edition Metal Gear Solid®4 collaboration t-shirts will also be on sale at that time.

About the t-shirts:
UNIQLO has collaborated with three well-known artists/design groups to develop six t-shirts that embed secret game messages within their design, three of which are available for sale in the US. UNIQLO worked with LOGAN, a motion graphic production company known for its commercials and music videos, Power Graphixx as well as the Kusano Design Office."

i got to uniqlo a little before 4pm and there were at least 180-250 in line. there were people there from last night i was told. only 1 item per person and they actually give you the ps3 sleeve for free if you prefer not to get yours out of your case. at least i got to shake his hand too unlike people from the virgin megastore line.

edit: i also got to meet Michael Yi from destructoid.com while i was at videogamesnewyork, he was there buying MG for the NES to get it signed by kojima

Man, I should of went to Uniquo instead of Virgin Store. I was too tired from last time event. I was expecting the line to be just as long, so I declined to go. It seems like you guys got a real treat shaking his hand or talking to him. Much better then yesterday non-interactive Kojima.

yeah.. no big fuss or anything. people there could care less what we were lining for. no line jumpers even if they did then they would have wasted their time because they gave out approx. 300 tickets. no ticket = no autograph.

the line moved very quickly too. and like i said i got there an hour before the actual event. kojima got there a little before 5. you also didn't need to buy the t-shirt. it was a limited tshirt and they actually had a separate line for it once kojima got to the store. i just wish i could have gotten the other 3 games i had autographed as well. oh well.

Looks like the Uniquo is far more organized then Virigin Megastore by handing out tickets. I don't understand how could a smaller company with far less resources be more efficient then a cooperate company? It baffles me. Not even Nintendo does a proper job handling everyday lines for Wii System or Wii Fit at Nintendo Store.

It seem like Uniquo event is far better then Virgin Mega store. In the Virgin Mega store, they force you to buy a normal Metal Gear Solid 4, a game you can easily find in any electronics store. I rather purchase at Gamestop, at least I get an option to limited edition with the art book or Metal Gear dvd with preorder. While Uniquo doesn't force you to buy their stuff . Plus, I rather prefer buying their shirts since I can't get them anywhere else. Not to mention their shirts look great.

Michael Yi actually posted it in his blog, he also mentioned videogamesnewyork where he purchased the game he got signed.

http://www.destructoid.com/blogs/phist

One signature per person we were told and I was very excited. Earlier that day, I had decided to stop by Videogames New York (http://www.videogamesnewyork.com/), who amazingly has employees that follow and dig Dtoid, to scoop up a copy of Metal Gear. My man had to dig through the back to find the remaining handful of cartridges left. He told me he went through all of the display copies because of the signing event. It was good to feel the game in my hands again after all of these years since my parents gave away my old video games. Forgiveness, friends. Forgiveness...
