Soul Calibur on Dreamcast is in my top 5 games ever (I rented a Dreamcast and SC, and had to go through the Mission (?) mode multiple times, since there was no way to save. Eventually I bought it, but still, I was pretty dedicated).

SC2 had long load times on PS2, which sort of irritated me. The game was pretty awesome, though.

I received SC3 for Christmas, and I know full price was paid, so I sort of feel like it was a waste to not play. But at that point, I was sort of not playing many games, so I sort of have an excuse.

I seldom drive up to SF even though its only a 45 minute drive. Last time I went, I parked on the street and got out of the car and there was a homeless guy about 5 feet away from me. He kept bugging me for money. He then said something like, "C'mon man, just give me something and...and I'll watch over your car! Yeah!" That kinda spooked me, so I gave him a couple bucks. When I got out of the club at 2am and returned to my car, Lo and behold, the cars in front and back of me had smashed windows and my car was still fully intact. If I ever see that guy again, I should thank him, but I really don't want to go through that ordeal ever again.

Besides that, Gas prices are getting fucking ridiculous. $4.50 and up in my area and I'm sure in SF it will be around $5.

Banana plugs give you the freedom of fastening them anywhere, and then speaker cables become simple "plug and play".

If I were you I'd buy a complete set, but at least get them on your receiver.

There's two main types.

Side entry, and rear entry.
I prefer rear entry type (haw haw) as they're more secure.

Monoprice is your friend for these plugs at a good price.

The new stuff in MGS3 could be taken either way... like the food system and the camo system... but it sounds like your friend is just doing a poor job conveying some of the finer points of the series. Cool storyline with over the top bosses. Brilliant innovative thinking like some of the stuff your friend mentions just adds to the wow. And there's more than one way to defeat The End, it just so happens that "waiting for the boss to die of old age" is one of the more clever options. The "Solid" series of Metal Gear games has always had James Bond-esque super villain type bosses. It's just a part of the series.

No, I played through MGS1 15-20 times when I was a kid. Back then I was budging it up so I could really only get one game every couple of months. It stuck with me cause before that it was just corny garbage, that game was different with its emphasis on reality, real guns, real locations, references to real events in history.

I bought MGS2 the day it came out on Xbox1 but it didn't feel right so I waited until I could get Substance on PS2 and by that time I already knew about the twist and was pretty disappointed by it.

I bought MGS3 a couple weeks after it came out(thanks to CAG, shit was like $16 after KayBee ---> Circuit City price match) but I was intimidated by how deep it was so it got lost in that Holiday's releases by the time I got interested in picking it back up Subsistence was around the corner with the new camera so I waited on that too.

I don't really regret it though, I had a garbage TV and sound system and playing through MGS2/3 in full matrixed 5.1/7.1 on an HDTV is way better than I could've done if I had played them on release. They still hold up exceptionally well, especially with all the details and sick visual effects. I was blown away by the thermal goggles in both MGS2 and MGS3, for example.
