The MGS4 bundle might help sales if you could actually buy the damn thing anywhere. For once, people have demand for the console and Sony decides it's time to hold back with the damned things.

I'd probably even buy the $500 bundle if I could easily get one in a week or two, but I know that won't be the case. They're already up to $900 on amazon, and what fucking sense does that make? It's just a regular system with a regular copy of the game.. only thing different is the box, as far as I can tell. I wish it was like for the GT3 bundle they had on PS2, that thing was everywhere.

Oh well, no need to get frustrated, i'll just be spending $200 on the new iphone instead of $500 on a PS3. (although I could recoup that spending when I sell it after playing MGS4)

They changed a lot of the music, and voice overs. Changing the music was dumb IMO because it didn't have that MGS effect like the original music had. For the voice overs, you will notice Grey Fox, and Mei Ling right off the bat. Also since they used the MGS2 first person view some fights became rather ridiculous easy. The Ocelot battle is a great example of this. Also they took out certain quotes like Sniper Wolves "It's a bullet, straight from my gun to your heart" which was really lame IMO.

all LE of games are ripoffs to me. I've done it once and realized it's shit. Only if I'm a hardcore insane freak I'll get a LE, but that's even stretching it. It's essentially making you buy paper for more than it's worth. even if it comes with a toy or whatever.

Best bet is to get regular edition and wait for LE to drop in price. I do say though that konami is known for their LEs to actually be limited, unlike all other LEs which totally fucks with the idea of actually being limited.

I do say though that if you are a collector type, then yeah LEs are worth it. I just hate having too much stuff and become a pack rat like 90% of the gamers I know. And even the clean pack rats have a crazy ass amount of too much stuff at times, but whatever makes em happy :)

Symphonia if you have a Wii/GC or Abyss if PS2. The better of those two games is up for debate, but they're the two best available in the US.

I'd say the best starting place is Tales of Symphonia... it's the only one that was great, IMO. Tales of the Abyss just never seemed to get started... I gave up after 10 hours of being kinda bored by the setting, story, and characters. Tales of Eternia was also decent, but just really formulaic. Symphonia really got everything right, though...

Also, Alone in the Dark... I'm really hopin' this game turns out. The gameplay videos look sickwidit, but the developer is unproven (Test Drive = unproven.) Still, I've got a feelin' its going to be great. After that, the next US release I'm excited for is Trauma Center 2. Interestingly, I haven't played my copy of New Blood yet, but w/e. I love me some surgery, though.

Though after MGS4, the standouts are still KOF 98, Sengoku Basara X, and Initial D Extreme Stage for me.

I hate current conversion rates. Fuck you, George Washington.

I was so bored and hyped for MGS4 last night that I started playing MGS3 again. I got to the end of the Virtuous Mission, and was trying to get to Sokolov's cell. I was having a lot of trouble being sneaky getting there, so I decided to say screw it and ran around shooting guards with the shotgun that was there. I learned then that there's a limited number of men that they can send to get you, cause there was no one wandering around when I was done....Though Major Tom did NOT like me killing everyone, :lol:

MGS4 today babi!!! Err midnight but still! Got my LE all paid off, and got my call from GS today saying MGS4 will be available tonight at midnight!!! Fuck yes!! I probably wont be on the net again until I beat the game, but I will get on to let you all know if I was able to get my LE no problem and that I got the game. Also can let you all know the install time and space if you want after it installs onto my HDD. I'm going to get there an hour early, and possible take my Psp while I stand outside to help kill the time. It's a good thing I only keep good games installed on my HDD, otherwise I'd have to buy a new one.

Played some NGII last night and got pissed off at the fucking worm boss thing. I beat him the first time no problem, but for some reason my save was corrupted so I had to restart over. Made it back to chapter 4, but for some reason that SOB would not go down easy. Don't you just shoot him with arrows towards the top of his head then after so many shots he flips over and you can hack away at him? He took me way too many tries, especially since I killed him my first time through on my second attempt. . .

Well the "blind" dude, sure as hell didn't seem blind when I first battled him. I got him on my second attempt though, although now I have to battle him again since my save file got corrupted. He sure seems like he can see just fine, although he really isn't that hard. I had just beat Alexia or however his name is spelled and loved that battle on my first save file. Dude posed a good challenge for me with his speed and lighting shooting. It's pretty sad though but so far the boss battle that was the toughest for me was that electric worm. :lol: Hopefully that changes since I have to battle the "blind" dude and Alexia again.

So I went to go trade in stuff, paid off my LE pre-order, and they assumed I was going to wait for the midnight launch (it was around 9 PM and at least 6 people were already lined-up), but when they finally asked me, I said "nah, I'll be in tomorrow morning" so they had to re-do the whole process and the guy got a little edgy :-P

I was kinda hoping they'd just let it slide and give me my LE a couple hours early, but the manager had stuck around and was going by policy. I didn't want to push it since those guys are kickback anyways, I'd hate for them to get in trouble over a couple hours ;)

Thankfully the manager told me I'll be safe with my LE pre-order and that I'll get the artbook when I go pick it up tomorrow :D

All -n- all from the three hours I put into it thus far it's okay, I am playing it on Soild difficulty as well. I don't really know how I feel about it just yet though. I don't know maybe it's just me but sneaking around doesn't seem to do that good. I always get spotted so I just end up helping the militia out 90% of the time. I did end up getting my LE from GS, of course what pissed me off is the dude made me go to the back of the line because I didn't pre register with my receipt. (I was at work I didn't have time for that BS). Luckily they had plenty of LE's in stock so I was okay. Also the fact that there was maybe MAYBE 20 people there at the midnight sale, I got to the front rather quick. I kinda see what Chac was talking about when he said he doesn't see this game selling too well now. The LE is noice IMO, I really like the case, and I am listening to the OST right now. I'll def give MGS4 some more game play time tomorrow and I don't regret buying the LE or going to the midnight launch, it's just.... I dunno something seems off. It could be the middle east setting or what not but regardless I plan on keeping at it. Also it was funny there were five people on my friends list, and everyone was playing MGS4. Fuck RR is still at it!

Morning GGT, big day for a lot of people today then, MGS4 is finally here. Seems like only yesterday it was naught but a video.

Well I finished the last endurance race on Forza 2 and got the cheesemint for that, then I squeezed a few more out of MOH:Airbourne. I went into a ranked match on MOH last night, it was Team Deathmatch, 2vs2 but the dude on my team dropped out early doors, so I found somewhere to hide as I didn't fancy getting mullered by myself. Well the other 2 guys couldn't have been very bothered either as I sat unchallenged for 20 mins until the game went into Sudden Death. One of the dudes from the other team got bored and left so it was just me and the last guy. I sat for a while but ended up thinking "Screw it, this will go on all night if one of us doesn't move" so I got up, happened to notice the guy walking across a field, and shot him for the win.:lol:

I felt a bit guilty but they'd had 20 mins to hunt me down. I met the same guy in the next game and he hammered me so it worked out in the end I guess. Plus in the second game I managed to get the cheesemint for shotting someone as they're parachuting in, which was nice.

I see that Nights on the Wii has dropped to $20 on Amazon, I'd have been tempted if it wasn't so poorly reviewed, shame they didn't just remake Nights into Dreams and add a bit.

It seems that I might be getting my copy of MGS4(along with the artbook) sooner than I thought. I was just checking the status of my order and saw it listed as shipped(Thanks for the heads up Gamestop.) And UPS has my order listed as "out for Delivery." So with luck I could be playing by tonight.

Is the LE really worth an extra $25? It seems to be having pretty poor resale value.

Did the stores you were at have a lot of 80GB Bundle units? or were they scarce, and getting sold out?

I'm so stupid. I forgot to take my wallet from my parent's car and now I won't have it till around 5 PM. So I can't buy MGS4. The main problem is not having an ID because it's a "M" game. Gah! It's like someone made a rule that says the release date for MGS4 is 17 hours later for me only. I hope I can still get one at the time.

anyone know if there are well-put-together videos to spoil the heck out of MGS1, 2, and 3? I watched basically collections of the cut scenes from Halo 1 & 2 before 3 came out to catch up. Essentially that, with maybe some text to fill in what happens game-play wise between each scene?

I watched the retrospectives, but I think I'd like to watch something a little bit more--less summary and more in-game stuff. I have to imagine someone out there was crazy enough to put a huge project like this together...
