Ready at Dawn, the developer behind two of the PlayStation Portable's most critically and commercially revered titles, has announced it is done with the platform.

Most recently responsible for the Wii port of Okami, Ready at Dawn was behind God of War: Chains of Olympus and Daxter remain two of the PSP's highest rated games on the IGN scoring scale, clocking in a 9.4 and 9.0 respectively.

On its official blog (http://www.readyatdawn.com/news.php), the California based developer states, "With Chains of Olympus going Gold in Japan, we're now officially done with PSP development. So today we sent all our devkits back and seeing all these boxes ready to be picked up definitely marks the end of an era here at Ready At Dawn. Can't wait to show you guys what we have in store…."

I guess they didn't have anything else to work on. GoW:CoO wasn't something I enjoyed, but I know a lot of people did, so it's disappointing to know there won't be a sequel to maybe help move more PSP units.

Man that sucks....I personally found the team great and basically a staple to the psp (they developed one of my favorite psp games, Daxter...haven't tried GoW on psp yet though)

Just cuz they're moving on, doesn't mean there won't be a GoW sequel. I mean, they didn't actually make any completly original games, just ported others to other platforms. If Sony wants another GoW, someone else will do it.

Dude ,
That's really a bummer. As a new PSP owner having only 4 games and 2 of which are GoW and Daxter, this news is horrible.

The store thing leads me to believe that they are moving on to digital download stuff.
