Now I don't want to sound totally pessimistic, but why do people pay good money for remakes of games? Especially games that are not even more than one generation of consoles old.

So the reason you are buying it is because it is coming out on a nintendo system?

The remake is a big jump in my opinion. As a fan of the original game, I feel a great obligation to play the new one.

Well I admit I don't know too much about this game, is there going to be a lot added to it or jsut a graphics update?

1. graphics update
2. gameplay update - as in all the features of mgs2 can be used in this, namely the shooting in first person view
3. brand new cinematics - they already released 27 minutes of it, which was really impressive. I suspect there would be even more.

Those are what I can think of off the top of my head... They're probably the big 3, though there are more. Anyways, it's not merely a graphically improved port.

put 20 on a GGC. Does this count as a pre-order.

Hmm well I guess remakes are not for me. $50 to shoot in first person doesnt seem worth it. Granted the cinematics are something, but you wouldn't pay $50 to see the same movie 5 years later. Or wait, some people probably would.

it retails for 40. Also if people buy it, maybe GCN will get ports of other Konami games. Maybe a ZOE on the GCN or a MGS 2 or 3 port.

Personally I am buying it because I have never played the original.

Ok, I'm seriously not trying to flame but i don't understand? You don't even really like MEtal Gear, but you NEED the game because it looks cool? You also don't want it to be spoiled? Have you played the orginial? Is the story different in the remake?

guyver2077

guyver2077

Mr Unoriginal, maybe you should look at the movies on Konami's website. Then maybe you'll "understand," why this game is so great.

I got mine at a GameStop B&M, and just paid the full price for the game, so I dont accidently blow all my money on something stupid. Anyways. You can pre-order it at either www.ebworld.com or www.gamestop.com.

Maybe I am one of the few cube owners not really excited about this. I played the original, and even with the gameplay changes I am not sure the remake is worth buying for me. Cinematics certainly won't do it for me, I can't stand long drawn out cinematics, I just wanna play a game. Maybe I will pick this up when I see it cheap and give it a play through again, but I never preorder games anyways, not cheapass enough for me.

I ordered mine on Thursday (March 12) from Target.com. Still haven't received it yet, I hate Targets shipping they never let you choose what carrier you want it shipped with and they take there bloody time shipping it out. I should get it on the weekend. :x (crosses fingers)
