Who's getting it? I tried the demo and thought it was decent...the aiming was a little fast compared to CoD4 but it's pretty good I think. I have the Gold Edition reserved, so I'll be picking this up for sure. Anyone else picking it up?

Yeah I really HATE EA for doing this. Basically charging us 10$ more for 5 guns. But getting those 5 guns will give us an advantage because we can use those guns and spend the unlock points on other things such as the unique abilities for each class. (Healing thing for Assault and etc).

I have to agree with the KBM statement. unreal tournament 3 to me kicks ass cause it supports this. I suck at fps with controllers but I can actually hold my own on ps3 version if i'm using KBM. as a side note i am originally a PC gamer turned console.
I have both systems and played both demos. xbox live kicks ass but controls seem really loose. less 12 year old chattering noobs on ps3.

I keep going back to playing the ps3 demo so i think thats the one i will buy unless i can talk my xbox friends into getting the game. the only thing they like playing is halo 3.

Codes only work once. You can pretty much unlock them all except the pre-order if you visit their website.

You can get the guns from the Gold Edition in the regular edition once you reach Level 25 in multiplayer. The guns you get for free on the site (they are different than the ones from the GE) can be gotten in both versions, but only through the site.

After playing the demo for a bit longer, I decided to bite and pre-ordered the GE at Amazon (just in time for the $10 gift card). I honestly wanted it more for the packaging and extra DVD content rather than to get the guns early, since they don't even seem that hard to get. I don't know how it works, but hopefully since I pre-ordered it from them I'll get the code for that. If I do, the only other code I would need is one for joining the BF Veteran program (though I have no idea how I'd get that since I've never owned a previous BF game).

I've been on the fence about this one too but I think I'm gonna hold off for right now. EA has a nasty habit of making me regret buying games around launch because of how often they price cut as little as 2 months after release. I'm thinking the game will easily be $40 by September-Octoberish.

I really don't think that this is a good intro game into FPS shooters. Call of Duty 4 is much closer to what you might want, just far more polished and accessible, I think.

I have been playing the crap out of this game. i'll add you tonight, as for codes i have one that got emailed to me but turns out to be the sniper rifle. i'm using the warhawk bluetooth headset that works ok but not great.

Sweet...about time I get to start playing with people who talk lol. Sometimes I hate Sony for not equipping the PS3 with a cheap headset like MS does with the 360. And I finally got all 5 weapons...phew that was hard work. And only 3 out of 5 of them are pretty decent. I rank them in order from best to worst:

1. Uzi
2. Sniper
3. Auto Shotty
4. M60
5. F2000 (this gun blows)

Uzi and Sniper can easily be swapped depending on your class, but that's how I would rank them.

started out playing demolition exclusively but really like the assault class alot more. demolition is great for defending on certain maps (dont know the names) but people just roll in with tanks and BLAM!!! I get double kills by laying mines everywhere. the standard rifle/grenade combo kicks ass. I can take out snipers on rooftops from a fairly large distance with it.

I like the headset for the 360 also. I know sony included support for bluetooth but the one that comes with warhawk and most cheap b headsets sound like shite.

i have a old counterstrike plantronics headset that i might try again. it didn't work with sound coming out of the headset part and that bothered me since it covers both ears. i'll try again or just stick with the uncomfortable warhawk btooth.

Picked this up at CC a week or so ago...the single player is a lot of fun but I suck at finding the gold bars. Either they're really well hidden or I'm not looking close enough.

I'll send friend requests to some of you that have been posting. I've only ventured online once and got my ass handed to me!

(I always use my headset...gave up on trying to get my BT to function reliably so I just use a USB set I got in trade.)

I think it is...it's kind of like CoD4's little brother in a way, but it does do some things CoD4 can't. For instance, I like how the game's environments are fully destructible, giving you access through buildings/walls anyway you'd like. And the fact that it has vehicles is just awesome. Only downside to it is that communication seems dull right now, since EA and Sony are working on a fix for the headsets. But I thought it was well worth the $60 I paid for it.

You can't really compare this to COD4. They're very, very different games. COD4 is your classic DM with shooting that just feels amazingly great. BF can't rely on it's shooting at all (The guns feel weak and entirely random at times), but the variety in everything you can do can't be beat if you're willing to learn the ins and outs. Shooting in BF is almost secondary if you're good at your kit. If you just want to COD it and run and gun, you're probably gonna get frustrated pretty quick (Though there are a couple of maps that allow for some decent gunplay).

In short, you'll be kinda disappointed if you go into it thinking its just COD with stuff that blows up.

We could maybe get a squad or two together...Don't worry, we have CAG games that don't even use voicechat (for some games). Right now with Warhawk, voice is constantly dropping out (It might be a firmware issue, since it's bad with Warhawk too right now).

Don't worry, as long as people are interested and a group of people want to get together, it will work. If someone really wants to push an official CAG night, just let me know and I'll help them (or they can start on their own).

I've been playing online for about 2 weeks now and having fun with it. Normally I'll play anytime between 1-4pm and 3-5am on the weekdays since I work nights. Weekends are random for me. right now custom matches just let you send squad invites and i believe its up to 3 or 4 invites and you have to do them one at a time. I'm all for it but I'm hoping it opens up to more control so that you can set passwords and such.

I'm ranked 25 and trying to get all patches and trophies with each class. I have to force myself to play as recon because of the fact that on each 12 man match there are at least 5 to 6 snipers and that just pisses me off.

I play as demo and specialist mostly now. It never fails, I'll spawn as specialist and tag some enemy vehicles but there will be no demos in the map.

My nephew plays with me alot so we team up, I get alot of kill assist by tagging enemy vehicles and he plays demo. thats the way to go.

Every since I found the ump that's all I've been using. Was a support fan, but the ump is so powerful to feel a little cheap at times. Up to rank 7, was actually surprised I was that high. Been thinking about trying the demo, especialy since I've seen the trick to destroy crates using the at mine a few times.

So far the main class I've been playing is support. I've been trying to play recon, but I'm more a run and gun type of player. It's satisfying to get a head shot from a far distance and binocular kill though.

My favorite moment was when we were defending the 2nd base at Harvest Day and only the crate by the creek was left. Some snipers had camped in the forest across the creek, so by the third time I got killed I was kinda pissed. I did a really wide flank and sliced 2 snipers right next to each other then shot another one further up the hill. Then I stole their tank :)

You can do it by sending a PM to LinkinPrime (http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/member.php?u=8657) or some other CAG mod and they'll do it. That's just my suggestion, up to you though.

I wouldn't buy a headset just for this game. Voicechat is very low quality and mostly useless.

that's good to know. I try to play this game every now and then. It's a lot of fun when your team is working together. There's an amazing feeling when you pull off those down to the wire victories. Also, performed my first destroying a tank w/ c4 last night. awesome. The real kicker is the VoIP support is mostly broken as SB and I quickly found out. I mean screw trophies, I just want working VoIP for online.

I've got this game for about 5 more days now. Picked it up from the library. Loved the demo and always wanted to try out the full thing. Also want the trophies...tehe. Too bad some of the trophies take FOREVER to get. I'll just get what I can for now. Wish I could pick this game up for good for under $20. I like it a lot, but with Resistance 2 and Killzone 2 coming out soon. Don't think this holds up against other shooters anymore.

I think Resistance 2 and BFBC are pretty different and killzone 2 as well. Even after R2 came out BFBC community is really health from waht I can tell. At ANYTIME in the day (ask born) I can find a server w/ people and usually full. GS has it for $20 which is damn cheap for a high quality title. I think it's one of the best shooters out on the ps3/360.

I played this quite a bit this weekend when I could find time and REALLY enjoy the MP game. Granted there's quite a bit of "Tourettes Guy" impersonations from me, but I love the points system and how it pushes you to just get "one more kill". I'm a huge BF2 fan, and though some things are missing (parachutes) it's still a great game for $20 (Gamestop last week, Best Buy this week) and well worth the price of admission.

I appreciate your opinion, but I have to disagree. The online, to me, is as much fun as CoD4's; it's not as robust, but Frostbite has finally brought the feeling of Battlefield 2 to the consoles.

I think the online is a blast. with the vehicles and the objectives. there are parts that are clearly unpolished but I don't think cod4 can really touch the depth of gameplay and variety. I agree the VoIP isn't perfect but it's much better after the 1.20 patch.

This game is well worth the $20. I am hooked on the single player right now. The deformable environments are really fun. Maybe it is time to try the multiplayer :)

I recently beat the campaign in all difficulties, and it is so much fun. I highly recommend getting this game... This is actually the first FPS I completed since GoldenEye, and now I have an itch to play FPSs now. :P

you set up your squad invites in the menu system before you get into the game itself. Can't recall the steps off the top of my head, I think you go through the custom search and in there you hit triangle or somethng to bring up the squad interface.

It's hard to run a CAG night because you can only have max 4 people in a squad and can't set up your own private games. So it's basically like WORMS, get a small group together every now and then.

This game's CD has about 3 little scratch on it. Anyone else has this problem?

This happened to me when loading up a level in single player. It kept loading and loading. I hit the PS button to quit game, PS3 beeped a couple times, and the system restarted.
