actually, it sounds more entertaing than the last 2. Ive been talking with customers the last couple of days, and most say they would probably check it out just to see where the hell its going...hey, it worked for AVP.

Personnaly, im hoping for a JP5 to be the end of the human race...that would be fun! :)

i read that yesterday and it sounds like it will absolutely rule.

i don't mean it's going to be a great cinematic achievement or anything, i just think that it sounds so over the top and ridiculous that it has to be pretty entertaining.

A long time ago when Speilberg was talking about it being the best idea for a Jurassic Park movie, I had high hopes. But the fact that neither Grant nor Malcolm appear gives me low expectations. I thought they said they'd include the river sequence from the first book...which would rule.

Argh! It's gonna suck! Its great that they are revisiting the island from JP1 but everything else seems really stupid. Jurassic Park 1 was definitely the best one and the only one worth watching in the series. JP3 is shaq-fuing stupid and don't even bother with that one.

Yes, the only major bad part of the first one are those stupid fucking kids - and yes I wanted the kid to get fried too - and the girl to get eaten by raptors.

I've never understood how Crichton keeps getting away with writing dull knock-offs of much better SF novels (he tends to throw a hissy fit if you call him an SF author) leading to awful movies.

I liked Andromeda Strain way back when, even though it had a glaring technical problem of an organism with a magical metabolism that produced mass from nowhere. The first Jurassic
Park work because it was created with a movie in mind. At the time he started it Crichton told anyone who asked that he was writing the most expensive movie of all time but by the time it was made it came well short several others like T2.

JP2 was incredibly stupid in several ways. First, they introduce a fat, balding clumsy guy who obvious existed for the sole purpose of dying horribly. Big yuks all around. Then we have the Vince Vaughn character who is a mass murderer and gets away with it. Wrapping up we have a locked room mystery that is never solved: How did the torn off hand in the bridge of the ferry get there? The T-Rex couldn't do it without destroying the room. Were velociraptors tranported to San Diego without anyone noticing? Are they now working at Qualcomm?

It just got stupider and stupider. I avoided the third movie until it turned up on cable. Even that felt like a waste of time to watch the whole thing rather than the handful of good FX shots. It's a terrible thing to have a cast of good actors forced to work around such an awful script. Possibly the worst such abuse of talent in a SF movie since Species.

OK, I've read it. I can give them credit for trying something different but this sounds like something froma Saturday morning cartoon. Guys, they already made a series based on the 'dinosaurs for Hire' comics and it didn't sell.

Grendel Corporation? Baron von Drax. Who in their right mind would name their company that? Is there a sign under the logo that reads, "Acting as a front for supervillain world domination schemes since 1907."

In a world where most animals over fifty pounds are on the endangered species list and ancient inhabitants of North America wiped out 99% of the large species with nothing more than spears and arrows, I find incredibly hard to believe that modern man could not easily manage a wild dinosaur population. I think we'd have soon have fast food restaurants specializing in dinosaur meat based entrees instead. One modern cavalry battalion could wipe out the fauna of Isla Nubar in a week or so.

i dunno, it sounds kinda interesting if they a way to pull off the dinosaurs realistically and not in a "oh my god they look fucking hilarious" way. The fact that it has me at least interested in seeing JP4 after the turd that was JP 3 is a testament in and of itself.

Part of me says, "Whoa, cool, smart dinosaurs that can kill on command. This will be bloody and violent. Cool."

But then the rational part of me says, "Wait, dinosaurs don't have to be smart because they kill by instinct. Anything including dinosaurs will be violent because they are violent creatures (excluding boring plant eaters). What a lame-ass idea."

I will say this is a horrible, stupid, ridiculous idea. It will make the JP franchise even more ridiculous than the previous two movies made it.

However, it will be good for mindless violence. And that counts for something.

I actually read Crichton's novels, Jurassic Park and Lost World. After seeing the kind of complete butchery he allows his novels to undergo to become movies, I will never buy or read any more of his novels ever again. There is nothing worse than reading a decent book and then to go see a movie "based" on it that completely sucks ass. Every Jurassic Park movie has made me root for the dinosaurs rather than the annoying humans stuck in bad movie plots.

This sounds terrible. When speilberg said that he had a great ideal for a 4th movie and that if he thoguht of it sooner he would of made this one the third movie instead... i thought it would be cool. I really hope this isnt what he was talking about.

The first JP was amazing in every respect.

After that, they butchered the whole thing. JP worked well, when it was on an island, and everything was new, and unexpected.

The 2nd and 3rd, were total exploits. Massive teams of hunters, and researchers, alongside of corny vehicles, and lousy CG dino's.

2+3, were quite a joke.

4, so far, sounds like the biggest mockery ever. I'd much rather see Cadillacs and Dinosaurs hit the silver screen, then this load of poo.

Maybe they should just scrap the JP part 4 idea and do what the batman movies are doing and just say, yeah this new JP movie has nothing to do with the last 3, with a clean slate they could then make a good movie.

Ok first off they really had me interested in it up until they get to the part where he travels to the island. I really like the idea of the dinosaurs attacking on the mainland because it plays off the theme of the first movie of dinosaurs shouldn't be around anymore because they went extinct. If they worked with that idea I would really be intrigued.

Now, on the other hand there is one glaring problem with this. That is that the whole idea behind going back to the island for the shaving can is ridiculous because in the first movie the guy tells Nedry flat out that the coolant in the cannister only lasts for 36 hours. I'm pretty sure 36 hours has passed.

In addition to this, I find it just simply WAY too cheesy that they would have trained, obediant dinos that are packing heat. Just too hokey for my taste.
