are the mgs4 welcome packages worth it?

I was thinking about buying one instead of the gunmetal. You get a sixaxis and a ds3 plus mgs4. I know it's in jp only but I do like the idea of getting another controller. Thoughts?

Honestly, no, unless you really want the silver or white PS3. Look into whether DVD regions matter for it as well (PS3 games are region free). The sixaxis will be nice for a 2nd controller, but you will probably never use it if you have a DS3 as well.

take the case apart. rub the plastic w/ a soft mild abrasive like a 3M scotch brite pad for an even slightly dull finish. wash & rinse off any dust/plastic powder residue, air dry in dust free space (or dry w/ lint free cloth, like eyeglass cleaning cloth). spray with Tamiya TS-42 Light Gun Metal Synthetic Lacquer Paint for plastics (available at most hobby shops).

Whala, you have a gunmetal gray PS3. You can even spray a custom logo on once it dries. get some thick art paper or signboard at an art supply store. put a design on it, cut it out w/ a exacto knife. tape it tight up against the PS3 w/ some Painter's (easy release, residue free) Masking Tape. spray it w/ white/black/chrome/etc..
