Best Buy RZ Member Appreciation Week Jun 22-28- look for $10 giftcard in your mailbox

While this isn't a specific video game deal I would imagine most here would end up using this giftcard/ certificate for videogames so I'm posting it here.

For those of you who are Reward Zone members at Best Buy- check your mailboxes closely this week. I just received a postcard from Best Buy announcing Member Appreciation week for next week, June 22-28.

You'll get double points on almost all purchases but the best part about it is there was a $10 giftcard good for ANY purchase enclosed in the folded postcard. The giftcard/ certificate is valid June 22-28.

While the wording says good on eligible items, there is NO list of eligible or non eligible items and the giftcard itself says GOOD ON ANY PURCHASE in store and online with a total in excess of the amount of giftcard ( i.e. $10.01.)

Basically it works the same as a $10 RZ certificate.

EDIT: There appears to be two different coupons/ certificates going out in the mailers. The one I received is $10 off anything with no exclusions mentioned and no minimum amount to purchase except for your final purchase being over $10.

The other appears to be a $10 off $50 coupon which seems to exclude "video game hardware, software, and accessories."

Just a guess but perhaps it has something to do with how much you've spent at BB in '08 and how close you are to getting in their new Premier Silver membership. :-k

Yes, you can use as many RZ certs as you would like on a purchase. They are treated exactly like cash - you can purchase anything on sale, or combine with gift cards

To answer your questions, You can use all 3 on one item, and it doesn't matter if they are on sale. You can also combine with gift card.

Surprisingly enough, I actually got the mailer (which is really a sort of advertisement for the new Silver membership level of RZ) with the $10 off $50 card. However, the fine print on the back excludes a laundry list of categories, including "video game hardware, software, and accessories", so this may be less useful to me than I had hoped.

I just got one of these in Texas and it is for $20 and not $10. It basically says the same thing -- on qualifying purchases but nothing is specifically exempted with the exception of gift cards. Strangely, it says the purchase has to be $15.01 or more. I keep meaning to go use it on Boom Blox, but I just haven't had the time.

There are two ways of looking at this. Either BB is giving $10 GC to people who don't shop at BB that often, in order to entice them to shop there more, or they are giving them to customers who have a regular spending pattern there.

Yea, actually I re-read the email that I received and it doesn't say the 2x/3x rewards are for Premier Silver members only so I would guess any RZ member can take advantage of it. The only benefit the Silver members get is 25% bonus points.

The manager of the store called corporate, explained what it was, and the coupon isn't even in their database. So, I complained, and they are issuing me a $10 gift card instead. But I read at another forum it wasn't working yesterday either....so they probably sent out this and never entered it into their database, so it's just something to fool us to go to Best Buy to buy something, and hope we will still buy it without the discount. I used mine today picking up the Futurama DVD and a CD and it worked without a problem. In fact I combined it with a price match and a $10 RZ cert so my total came to like $4 and some change. :)

UPDATE: Picked up a pink 360 battery pack. My BB had lots of crappy PS2 and Xbox games for $4.99 or $9.99 near the register. I was thinking about some trading fodder but all the candy was like $2 as filler and their candy sucks!

item 1 $10 reduced to $7.50 with cert
item 2 $5.00 reduced to $3.75 with cert
item 3 $5.00 reduced to $3.75 with cert
Total paid $15

Now you want to return item 2. You will get $3.75 back and the $1.25 in used certificate will convert back to points (1/4 of 250 points is about 63 points) and go back into your RZ points pool.

If you exchange item 2 for something else the $1.25 in certificate points will go towards the new item (as long as the exchanged item costs more than $1.25).

In either case you will not get the full value of the item ($5.00 in this case), just the reduced value.

Speaking of exclusions, watch out for Sears coupons. They exclude electronics, video games, game systems, clearance items, DVD's, automotive servies, CDs, closeout merchandise, and the list goes on. I have a few coupons they sent me, like $10 off a $75 purchase. About the only thing you can use this on is shoes or clothes. Whoopie Doo! What a complete waste of a coupon Sears always sends out. Makes Best Buy coupons look a little better.
