oh yeah.....I think I heard about that.......didn't they release a bunch of old NES games for GBA in Japan recently? What other games did they put out?

I know the original Super Mario Bros. was one...that's really the only one I was interested in, considering I have all the others as Super Mario Advance games.

Ice Climbers, SMB, Bomberman, Xevious and some others
Also I just read over at planetgamecube.com that NOA is making a NES style GBA and will release some of these games over here

lik-sang has those mini-games - for $30 (shipping included).
Are you sure you want it? The display is probably squished because of the emulation - these are the original games, not ports.
And I don't think you'll find it cheaper - as far as I know, not only are the games sold in Japan only, they are only sold AS A BUNDLE of 10 games + 1 special edition GBA SP.
Some online dealers may open the bundles and mix and match to fulfill orders, but handling the excess inventory means there aren't any savings to pass on to you - quite the opposite.
Just forget it. If you had the thing right now you'd probably think the graphics make it unplayable anyway.

Are you sure? I'd be interested to know if this was true.

Where'd that come from?

But I never had an NES, I have never played the ORIGINAL Zelda!
I would also like to get Mario too, but I am afraid that I am way too cheap to grt both.
Oh, and I will probably go with Lik-Sang, for about 1,000円 more than it originally retailed for, which isn't that bad for an import with free shipping.

play-asia.com also has these.

You can see pictures of the games on www.the-magicbox.com, and the graphics don't really look squished. Also, the graphics are dated, but on the small screen it won't bother you as much.

Heh, I just scored on eBay, netting about $30 in my palpal account (sold FFX)
I was just wondering if (without any nostalgia shit) if I should get it. Is it a long game? Is it fun? Is it worth each and every dollar I spend on it?

Nope - the games are, in fact, sold seperately from each other. There'd be almost no demand for a bundle like that - going with American prices:
(10 x $20) + ($100) = $300
Far too expensive for most people to plop down at once.

Here's the gamelist
1. Super Mario Bros.
2. Donkey Kong
3. Ice Climber
4. Excite Bike
5. Legend of Zelda
6. Pac-man
7. Xevious
8. Mappy
9. Bomberman
10. Star Soldier
The graphics aren't squished, and it's likely that if you've played the games before, nostalgia will overcome any problems with graphics.

Why don't you just pick up an original Nes there pretty cheap and you can find alot of the classic games for cheap. I play my Nes still to this day it's one of my favorites systems of all time.

Graphics schmaphics. Give me SMB over Super Mario Sunshine and Donkey Kong over Donkey Kong 64 any day.

I'm not sure if the graphics would be squished, they may look a tad off due to a change in resolution.
Despite its cool factor, $20 may be a tad too much for the US market to swallow for NES ports. Maybe if Nintendo brings them out in the US for $10.
Quackzilla
03-08-2004, 11:34 AM
Actually, they will probably be $14 USD
