Some people order a Super Famicom System...

Others buy a Honey Bee Territorial Bridge...

But why bother with all of that?

Anyone who's at a stage where they're playing imports likely has a decent collection of SNES games to begin with. And chances are you own an SNES Game Genie. And that's the key importing.

Super Famicom games are not locked out of the Super Nintendo internally. It's entirely a physical shape thing. They simply don't fit in the machine. Using a modified Game Genie, you can bypass this.

Take an SNES Game Genie and remove the tabs in the yellow circle as shown in the picture. This can take a little work. You can either cut them off with a sharp knife or you can file them using a metal shop file. If you use a file, make sure you don't get the filed off plastic dust into the Game Genie. That's can't be good.

Make no other modifications to the Genie. You're already done!

The Super Famicom games will now fit into the Game Genie, and you're ready to play. Simply place the Game Genie into the machine and DO NOT ENTER ANY CODES INTO IT! Just press start, and you're good to go.

Hope this has been helpful.

This method won't work for a few games, Mario RPG and Star Ocean included. You're better off modding the tabs in the Super Nintendo itself for full compatibility.

The cheapest way to play all non US games on a SNES is to melt out the tabs that prevents games from playing to begin with and modify the system to take both 60/50 hertz.

Game Genies is kinda expensive.
