I got one other title that escapes my mind at the moment and of course they are all complete. I did however, see a fair share of Pikmin and am curious as to what brought back this sudden resurgence of interest in the title. I mean it has always been regarded as an above average game why the sudden love? Sometimes I wonder if Gamestop picks out some random title and sees if they can artificially raise interest in a game by adjusting it's price.

One theory is that Olimar's inclusion in Smash Bros. Brawl has spiked interest in the Pikmin series much like a natural sequel would.

Well, decided to use the coupon again... I was 2 for 3 on using the coupon. One store reminded me that the coupon is "one coupon per store" but that is fine... took it as a sign to "stop spending"...hehe... Anyway, decided that this is my chance to get the games that I really wanted. Third store was to re-purchase games I traded in (all Starfox, FF:Crystal Chronicles, Turok, Metroid Prime 2, and Zelda: Four Swords but didn't happen so, oh well...). If anything, I was pretty stoked to get all the sports games I needed for a great price. You really do save on the higher priced items and the employee was like shocked with how much I saved with the coupon.

Unfortunately, no "Cubivore" or "Gotcha Force" in stock. I recall seeing it at Game Crazy but being a CAG...I prefer the GC with the 40% off. So, pretty much I just need the games that I traded in that I want again to finish off my GC collection but in no rush... I used the coupon and happy with how much was taken off for those expensive titles.

Considered the Pokemon: Gale of Darkness (originally part of my "priority" games to get but after reading reviews, many reviews said it's just Colisseum but you collect Shadow Pokemon...so I passed. As for Resident Evil 2 and 3. Despite owning it for the PS2 and it all scratched up, I wished I bought it for the Dreamcast because it was enhanced and sold for under $20 if I recall. So, I went back and forth of either buying the DC versions on eBay or get the GameCube versions and in the end, I decided to go for the latter.

Oh, I saw the Mario DDR for GC and that was like $49.99... man, that is expensive!

I was actually looking for Pikmin 2 (Cheaper the better) a year before Brawl came out and as much as I scored the first one cheap, I figured it was expensive because it was a very good game that was reviewed well, scored high on reviewers "top 20 Game Cube games ever" and was literally a sleeper hit. Also, near the end of the Game Cube, so much interest was towards next-gen, online gaming, the newly designed DS and hopes with Nintendo rebounding with the "Revolution". Despite a few good games for the Game Cube, by the time Pikmin 2 came out... it seems like people were already waiting for the next best thing for next-gen gaming. And bypassed the game.

Actually, I remember seeing Pikmin 2 for a lot cheaper at either Gamecrazy or Game Rush (before Brawl) but it was over $20...but heck... post-Brawl, if I knew it would shoot up again to $39 used, I would have purchased it earlier. So, I'm happy for this coupon.

I have a little Gamestop story involving me using my coupon the other day:

I went to pick up Geist + Medal of Honor Rising Sun on Gamecube, the total ended up being $11.00 after the discount, no edge card (haven't re-subscribed in years, I'm thinking about it though). Anyways, the guy rang me up, but there was some problem with the line and it said my debit transaction didn't go through. He tried once again and still nothing, finally after a few minutes he got it to work, and this time was nice enough to swipe his own edge card for me since I had to wait, bringing the total down to 9 dollars and some change.

However, today I checked my checking account balance online, and lo and behold, I was charged twice for those games, one for $11 and the other for $9 something. So I went back today and told the manager there what had happened (minus the fact that it wasn't my own edge card, I just said I forgot to give it to the guy before), and he looked up my transaction from the previous day and saw that I was indeed telling the truth, even though I only had the receipt for the last transaction. So he proceeds to call someone else to get it sorted out, and the guy he's talking to on the phone is telling him that the first transaction should be voided, and that even though my account was charged, the $11 should re-appear within 5 days or so.

The manager was really nice about it, and it's not like I'm starved for money right now, so I can patiently wait to get the money back, but come Friday if it's not back in my account, I'm going to print off my bank statement showing that it never went back in my account and wave it in their faces.

Thanks for posting this because it reminded me to check my account. I had to get a credit back because an employee didn't use my Edge card discount even though I gave her my card. But checked and it was credited back to my account immediately on the same day.

But yeah, I know what you mean...when you use your card or atm and you do the whole process and then you are ask to redo it again... 100% of the time, the purchase was canceled and I had to redo it but to read your situation, definitely is a good reminder to check your account when those situations happen regardless if everything went smooth or not.

Wait...so the e-mailed coupon that you get and are told to print off...he denied? WTF? This is why I hate Gamestop. Every employee I've ever met or talked to about games has no idea what he's doing or has any knowledge of games...

That's all part of it's charm. I love the game. But hey there's a shit-ton of love for Halo 3 and GTA 4 and I'm not down with either. Same for MGS4.

I originally got Capcom vs SNK EO but exchanged it for Resident Evil Zero. I did this once I played it and found out that you use the C stick to perform moves. I also have it for the PS2 so it wasn't worth keeping.
You only use the C-Stick if you play using GC-ISM. But the GCN version of Capcom vs. SNK 2 is terrible anyway. Tiny D-Pad and shoulder buttons FTL.

I was going to get Zelda Collector's Edition for $35 - 40%, but the copy they had was a wreck. There were some XBox games I was looking at, but nothing spectacular - no Marvel v Capcom 2 and the one copy of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 was disc only.

I'm going to head over to another location with another copy of the coupon to pick up Pikmin 1 and Zelda Collector's, and probably a few more games.

On another note, they had a copy of Super Smash Brothers Melee priced at $39.99 used. WTF?!?

I noticed a lot of games are still ripoffs even with the discount. Mario Tennis for $35, Zelda discs for $35 .. sheesh. Even with the discount, you can find these games both cheaper, and in a lot better condition if you wanted to. I kind of laughed when I saw the yellow players choice tag on games, so that means they retailed new for $20, and then saw the price and it was $25.

I got Rocky ($5 original price) and Prince of Persia ($10) for Gamecube for $10.48. I was going to get Viewtiful Joe 1 and 2 for $5.00 apeice before discount, but when I took the cases up there they said they didn't have it. Really lame. I can see why I rarely ever go up here, even though its right down the street from me.

Have you played The Bard's Tale? Not sure if you can adjust the camera, it's been awhile, but I can only remember the camera being way to close to the action and it made me sick. For $3 though you didn't go wrong.
