It was always speculation on whether they would have one or not. I mean, it is surprising it hasn't happened yet. They may be waiting until the July 4th weekend or possibly this upcoming Monday. Remember the last one we only had a day's notice before it happened.

Also, according to some employees they think the reason the date isn't handed out as early anymore because a lot of people would wait until the sale. Again, that is all speculation on the part of the employees i have spoken with. They don't claim that is the reason, just their guesses. With all the flaming going on lately about the B2G1, I want to make myself clear that it is all speculation that I'm placing in this post about it.\

My normal store does that now with the sticker still on it's paper. You can tell on the older Xbox games and almost all Gamecube games, if it has a sticker on the spine, it is on the insert. The good news is, I've only had one insert partially damaged by the removal of the sticker. I guess I can consider myself lucky in that respect. My local Gamestop opens in 40 minutes, so I'm taking an early lunch and picking up my stuff. I actually called them last night and had them hold about 8 games for me. They knew why, and didn't care. They were actually more than glad to help.

Wow! Great coupon, but of course hampered by the fact that the prices on the more popular games are already so high, that even with 40% off they aren't that great of a deal, or are even a bad deal. Be sure to check ebay's completed listings for the games you are interested in. In many cases I've checked so far, ebay offers better prices even considering the 40% off (plus tax), at least if you are a little ebay savvy and have some patience. There are exceptions, though. It's about time I picked up RE4, and the 40% off price is good, even compared to ebay. Also, if you don't have patience, well, ebay isn't for you, and this coupon is.

First off, Great Coupon this week and thanks to the OP for getting it out there early! Also thanks for some of the lists that were posted as well. I'll have to take a closer look and pick out some of the ones I don't have in the collection and pick them up this week.

As others have mentioned before, the GC/Xbox sections at most of the local GS are horrible. The selection is bad, the organization is non-existent and I've been seeing more and more copies of games that are disc only. They have also really jacked up the prices for the in demand games but this coupon + edge does make them a bit more reasonable.

As for b2g1, there was a speculative post a couple weeks ago that said b2g1 was coming during the gamedays sale, but it doesn't look like it is happening this month. Saying b2g1 is coming is redundant considering GS runs that promotion at least once in each fiscal quarter. Their next quarter ends at the end of July so draw your own conclusions as to what week in July it will occur. Just keep checking the deals forum and once there is some confirmation someone will post it.

That would make sense, if their regular NGC prices were in line with even ebay, which they generally aren't. Then if you look at goozex, you can often pick the games up even cheaper, even considering the coupon. There are some decent deals to be had, though. You just have to do some reasearch. Resident Evil 4 GC is a good price with coupon, for example.

Just got back from GS... Fortunately of the three stores, one of them carries a lot of the use GameCube games while the other still carries DVD's and the other carries more PC games...

Anyway, went there for only four games Resident Evil 2, 3, Pikmin 2 and Pokemon: Gale of Darkness....each were complete. The discount was great with all four + another game which came in at $91.

But then nostalgia factor came in where I wanted to buy re-games that I once owned before. (Damn, I'm never going to trade games in especially when I end up rebuying them again).

So, I ended of the four, I just ended up buying a complete Pikmin 2....damn that is expensive used:

$39.99 (with coupon and Edge) = $23.99

As for nostalgia, I ended up buying Ultimate Muscle for GC ($3.59), Gun Valkyrie ($2.99), Otogi ($2.99) and Otogi 2 ($7.79).

Part of my reason of not getting Resident Evil 2 and 3...was that I'm still deciding if I want the game since I own it on PSX. Reviews I read mention they are direct ports and unlike RE-Zero and the original RE remade for the GameCube...2 and 3 are just direct ports.

And for Pokemon: Gale of Darkness...I know it received good ratings but wasn't feeling it.

So, at least I got my priority GC game....Pikmin 2...but if anyone on here can give me a heads up if RE 2 and 3 are definitely worth it on GC... I'll probably hit the place tomorrow. Maybe...hehe...

I went into GameStop today to trade in some 360 games to take advantage of the 10 dollar bonus offer, and they told me to hold the games til Monday 9/30, they'll be upping it up to 15 dollars extra instead of 10! Is this true, has anybody else heard about this?

It would suck if they were just messing with me or trying to screw me over somehow, lol.

That will be *if* you pre-order NCAA 09 and some have stated it'll be a coupon; I dunno. Although, the trade-in values of your stuff could go down by then, so who knows.

Ninja Gaiden Black had some extras and "Ninja Dog" mode which if you died enough times it would scale back the difficulty. I picked up Black for $19.99 or $24.99 (can't remember) during the B2G1 sale. I'm not sure what the original goes for, but $15 difference seems a tad large.

Personally, unless you've played Ninja Gaiden and have no problems with the difficulty level I'd go for Black.

I'll probably grab Resident Evil 2 and 3 if they are complete and in excellent condition. I have them for the PS3 but I am survival horror collector- especially RE and Silent Hill. I would grab an Eternal Darkness if they had one since mine is factory sealed and I cannot bring myself to open it- haven't seen any at a local GS though :(

Was thinking of getting the Zelda Collector's game but I recall it being $50 at GS :cry: I am not a big Zelda fan but that is such a good collection that probably won't be put on a disc again.

When I first saw this my mouth was watering, but then the realization that I would need to blow all my gamestop credit to complete my collection set in. I'm probably just going to complete a couple series that I own except for Resident Evil , Legend of Zelda, and Pikmin. Well on the 50% trade-in bonus, they were only valid in certain areas and most stores weren't taking printouts. I can see how they thought that one was fake.

This particular coupon comes directly from the Gamestop website. If you right click on the image in the first post and go to view source or view image (if in Firefox), it takes you to a Gamestop.com URL. Actually would be a good way to print it off too to show them that it came from their website.

Did they even input the code into their system or did they automatically say it was fake? A lot of printers don't print, or people don't set them to print in the quality that allows it to be scanned. Gamestop knows this, which is why the include the discount code under the barcode. If they would have input the code, it would have worked. If they did input the code on the coupon, and it still didn't work, I don't know. This coupon is legit as far as I know. Used it twice myself, by being scanned directly from the barcode. It wouldn't have shown up in their system otherwise.

I'm curious as to if there were high value games that you picked out and the employees seen them? I'm not saying that is what happened, but you never know.

I present to you... Chronis's guide to Ninja Gaiden!!

First of all. they are all basically the same game. Just some have tweaks and bonuses that others don't have.

Ok, the original. It's the most bare bones of the bunch. Doesn't have an easy mode (Ninja Dog) so if you aren't hardcore enough to handle this game, this version probably isn't for you. Also, if you beat the game, you are able to restart to find all the scarabs which you'll need for the things I'm describing next. However, if you are interested in the 3 NES Ninja Gaidens (the ones that have been released on the Wii's Virtual Console), this may be the version for you. However, it is a bit hard to unlock all three and I think will take you 2 playthroughs. Also there were some Hurricane Pack things that were available for download on the XBL. I don't know much about that, though I think those were built into Black.

Ninja Gaiden Black is an update of the original. Overall, it is a harder than the original by adding a few new enemies and tweaking existing ones. But they also added Ninja Dog mode. If you die 3 times, you'll unlock that. The problem is that in order to play on Dog difficulty, you'll need to restart your game. And you'll be made fun of by the game. For rizzle. They also took out the NES games (thought they put in some spinoff somehere in there or something...), and they also took out the ability to play again after beating the game. You'll have to restart a new save, as in Sigma.

Sigma on the PS3 is an update of the original. It doesn't have the added enemies that Black has or the NES games, though it does have Ninja dog mode. Sigma does add 3 parts of the game where you get to play as Rachel (the chick with the "Double Dragons") though, which has a much different feel than the other parts of the game. Plus, there are a few minor changes to the locations of stuff from the other games. Also, the game looks nicer though the others looked so good it's not that much of an upgrade. Also, there is some downloadbale (for a price) stuff on the PSN.

I did see complete copies of RE2 and 3 for the GC for 30 bucks, but I didn't bite because even for 40 percent off I can't justify that right now.

Anyway, I did luck out and picked up Super Monkey Ball 2 and Predator Concrete Jungle for about 14 total. I wanted to do more with the slip but their selections are just really losing their prestige. I also did finally pick up Dementium which I've wanted for a while, so now I've got a game to play on my upcoming trip.

any game i've bought which the sticker was on the side of the art itself, have slowly peeled off with no problems. But then again, they were freshly put on there. I keep a close eye on my 2 gamestop quite regularly. I'm glad my gamestops don't stick the stickers on the art, they just slide the piece of paper with the sticker on it down the side.

So, what are the most expensive games right now on the Gamecube aside from Pikmin 2, Ikaragua and Mario Power Tennis (and also excluding Zelda Twilight Princess)? Btw, I'm glad someone brought up "Cubivore" since that was the only Atlus game they brought from Japan to the US (original title: Doubutsu Banchou). I've never seen that game ever...and everyone knows how Atlus games print-wise are...so congrats to those who found it. I have seen Atlus "Go! Go! Hypergrind" which was one of the few games released in the US never released in Japan though...

Still deciding on the Resident Evil..I know the reviews were bad (mainly because of the pricing issue for an older game which was literally a direct port from the PSX and for the 3rd as a direct port from the Dreamcast). But I realized I traded in RE3 along ago (thought I had it still) and my RE2 disks have been played so many times...probably need to pick that one up as well. Those shouldn't be too hard, so you should be able to score those games. The games you are looking for were the same games I targeted last year and with this coupon def. worth it to get it now. They won't deny you. If they do just take it to another store, but I have used zillions of the things and have never been denied. I guess this also depends on the manager and workers at your gamestop though.

I've luckily never came across it. My regular GameStop knows when they see me at around 10-10:30 on a Friday, I'm there will multiple coupons. I normally have them separated out into separate transactions as I head to the counter, and they ring them up that way. They made a comment when I got my new printer to work on the settings to get it to scan so they didn't have to punch in the code each time. So I found the perfect setting and now they all scan.

I'm normally the first one to hit that particular GameStop and get the best pickings on games normally. I normally try to get a list the night before on which games are which of the 3 locations near me and setup a gameplan. Worked so far thankfully. Also, I wanted to thank you for your list, it reminded me of a few games I hadn't thought of for the cube.

I just started using this coupon.. It says limit 1 coupon per customer. So technically I can get denied if I return to the same store the next day to use the same coupon?? So do people mainly go to different stores in order to use the coupon multiple times, or does Gamestop really not care how many times it's used since it's printed from their website?

I wish I had waited on purchasing GameCube games. I've been steadily buying the cheap ones lately, and many of them aren't half bad since I don't have the scratch for most of the $29.99-$59.99 Wii and 360 games I've been wanting. (Avoid Rocky if you can.)

I'm hoping I can find a good complete copy of Wario World since I've been wanting to play it and a copy of Crazy Taxi without water damage. The last one I encountered at Gamestop looked like someone had been playing with the case in the tub.

I'll def. check out my GS and see if there are a few sports games to pick up. As a collector, I admit I don't buy much at GS -- or at least I try to avoid used, scratched up games. The only exception would be games that clearly will hold no value like the Jak series; games I don't care much for but would like to play through. :-)

As for expert, definitely not an expert....just a guy who has to cover a lot of entertainment in Japan and write about in the US (it's tough enough having to cover and keep up with all the music, video game, film and anime releases as it is). Didn't mean to tick you off. Usually when I post very early in the morning or post on forums, I just type quickly but probably should start proofreading what I post I suppose.

As for the coupons, in the past, I would print several and use them each day. But I believe the coupons had "one coupon per visit" awhile back. But noticed they started putting the "one coupon per customer" and some employees or managers in my area have just recently started to become strict on that. So, I just go to another store or come back later and see if they say anything. I don't know if they track these things on Edge card uses or not, so I don' t know.

Online? According to a thread on another forum, the online play for the game has not been around in the past two months and people get a "maintenance" message. [Note: online for XBOX] But people are still posting quite a bit on GC and still writing about playing online on GC. If you are Wii owner, you can't play online with this game.

But definitely had fun playing the game on XBOX and now rebought it awhile back for the GC. Looking at threads on the GF thread for both XBOX and GC versions of the game, both threads are still active and people "rebuying" or just buying the game to play it. So, for $2.99, yeah...that's a great price for the game.

I'm just a fan of accuracy and not a fan of erroneous commentary. It wasn't a big deal, but I'd watch it on spouting facts if you're not really sure about something because if it's a game that's near and dear to their hearts (ala Final Fantasy or Metal Gear) here on CAG and you get it wrong, they will flame you for it.

So a local Gamestop had a copy of Marvel vs Capcom 2 for xbox in stock used and I just read it was on the 360 backwards compatible list. I used some credit I was saving for the now mythological Buy two get one free sale and this coupon and edge card and got it on sale. Come to find out its not really backwards compatible and glitchy as all hell with the characters.

Will gamestop take it back as a return for store credit? I will just put the credit down on Soul Calibur IV. I think the PS3 version, don't pay for Live and IMHO Vader > Acheivments.

I think that GS will take it back for store credit within 7 days after you got it but I could be wrong on that so I'd get other verification.

I was pleased with my trip to GS today as I scored a near-mint condition complete Cubivore for $24.99 - 40% = $14.99.
Not really anything else decent in the GC rack although there were good single copies of Metriod Prime 1 & 2 and Baten Kaitos Orgins.

Congrats to the CAGs who grabbed Beyond Good and Evil and Psychonauts, two of the best titles available with this deal in my opinion.

It's always worth a try man.

Wont work. The computer will allow you to only use one promotion at a time. That's why a B2G1 free doesn't allow the 10% off used coupon to work because a B2G1 is considered another promotion. I have seen employees override it, but it is rare. Same goes for the printout coupons, you can only use one, so you would have to decide between that coupon or the 30%. Unless of course you find someone that will override it.

There is a link to the 10% used coupon thread around page 2 or 3 of this thread. It was mentioned because I used it on a separate transaction not in conjunction with this for a WaveBird I found.

Well, IMO, for the most part the 360 has replaced the original and the Wii for the GC. However, the ps2 still sells strong because the ps3 base isnt as strong yet.

Do you have more than one store in your area? In my area, there are three (in the nearby city there are like 6-7) but for my area, not sure how they decided but one store would have the majority of the PC games, the other would be the only place to sell DVD's and another store would carry more of the used games for PS2, XBOX and GameCube.

So, for Gamecube games, the store that carries a lot of the used games has a little over a 100-200 games. The other two stores in my area probably less than 30. And fortunately for this one store, GameCube games are not as bad as the other consoles in the fact that the majority of them have the original covers or manuals.

As for XBOX, this same store with a lot of GC games has nearly as many used Xbox games as PS2 games. The other stores have about 2-3 rows but 95% of them hardly have covers or manuals.

Man, I don't know what happened, but my local Gamestop seems to have gotten a TON of mint/near mint Xbox games almost overnight (I know these weren't just converted from new games because their Xbox selection has been really weak lately). didn't play half of these games when they came out on the original Xbox so at least now I can try them out on the 360.

I got Baten Kaitos for the GC today. Ended up paying 2.34 trading in a Halo 2 Mutiplayer Mappack I got for free and a busted up game (.hack Infection) and ended up paying 2.34 for a 9.99 game. (never lend friends game w/o collateral). This is with no edge card as well.

Got Eternal Darkness in very good condition.
Wanted Skies of Arcadia but couldn't get complete copy anywhere.
No NGB, Jade Empire, or MGS:TT eventhough online shows there were some at the locations.
Every store had a Pikmin.

Everyone will say just get a Wii. But with the edge card a Gamecube from Gamestop with a controller and necessary cables is barely $30.

It has a GREAT backlog of games waiting to be played and it is also one of the best if not thee best local multiplayer console ever.

Considering the deal, I went ahead and picked up a few games despite my nether having a cube or wii for future reference.

I got one other title that escapes my mind at the moment and of course they are all complete. I did however, see a fair share of Pikmin and am curious as to what brought back this sudden resurgence of interest in the title. I mean it has always been regarded as an above average game why the sudden love? Sometimes I wonder if Gamestop picks out some random title and sees if they can artificially raise interest in a game by adjusting it's price.
