Dang, got my 5 free MIR HD DVDs from the rebate, only took 3 or 4 months. 8-)

They didn't send a single title I asked for, though.

A Mighty Heart (WTF?)
Miami Vice
Knocked Up
The Perfect Storm
The Last Samurai

I'll be glad if I can pull $30 net collectively from Half considering Wal-Mart refunded me 100% for the player when I returned it a couple months back and I made $10 after selling the 4 or 5 HD DVDs I actually bought, not counting this newest batch.

I'd probably keep it just for cheap Universal titles if I could find a 360 drive for less than $15 and I had an HDMI 360.

I have an AC unit but I don't have it installed for 2 reasons:

1) Cost + such - It's expensive to keep it running, especially in the old building I'm in now. Also, it'd probably blow a fuse in in my studio if we did anything besides run it (watch TV/Xbox/Cook/etc)

2) saftey - It'd have to be out a window onto the fire escape. Unfortunately, that means someone could easily enter the apartment by kicking it in.

Possibly, but I think it'd be more difficult because the the way the windows lock here. They're set up to protect against that when they're fully closed and locked. And we keep them that way as long as we're not here.

That and I assume kicking in a window would cause a lot more noise.

In Boston (at least here) the windows are thick as... err... I can't think of an appropriate anology that won't get me an infraction ;)

But ya, they're that way because it drives the heating costs way down here for landlords (since heat + hot water are included pretty much everywhere in the city), they want the rooms to be as warm as possible year round, and storm-proof, thick glass is the way to do it. Every apartment I've had up here has had the thickest glass possible.

Yeah, well see my house was built around the turn of the century. However, then in like the 70's it was renovated by some Amateurs. So there are alot of things wrong with it such as:

Horrible Electrical Wiring. I am surprised it hasn't caused a fire yet.
No Insulation, at all.
All the windows are painted shut. Plus they are thin glass.
The piping is also horribly done, which causes alot of stinks and toilets to get backed up.
It also has a really small septic tank, which means that backs up also.

Ultimately it is a real mess, but it was cheap. So, I guess you get what you pay for.

lordwow
06-28-2008, 08:40 PM
The place I live in was built, I'm guessing circa-1920/1930. It's old. The apartment all have odd angles (since it looks like they split them up from bigger apartments as time went on), but the windows are pretty much the only thing in my apartment that's been updated since 1950. Except the fridge.

Boston is similar with a lot of old buildings, but they've all turned into shitty overpriced apartment buildings.

Time for UNOs! (The only restaurant in metro Boston without a wait on sat nights)

I wanna sell the PS3 because I never play it :/Lol, if your PS3 was in my possession, I'd probably play it more than you ever did in just a few weeks. ;)

My problem is, I play my PS3 way too much (I play way too much Warhawk, SingStar, Rock Band, Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds, etc.). I have it on for at least 5 hours a day, playing a game, downloading, watching a few videos I have on the HDD, listening to music from my HDD, and so on (most of it is gaming). I hate leaving my consoles on for long periods of time because I don't want them overheating. I really need another PS3 because I'll play my PS3, want to give it a rest for an hour or two. But while my PS3 is resting, I want to play more PS3 games but can't. I end up playing PSP or something, but I usually have the urge to play PS3. I'll probably just buy a 40GB (upgrade the HDD to 320GB) when I get a job so I can have two PS3 consoles to play.

I just played CoD4 for a while and had lots of fun.

TMKmang, just out of curiosity, would you say you dislike Microsoft?Well, I may have disliked a few things MS has done, but I definitely do not hate them. 360 is actually the 2nd platform I play most (I play it a few times every week, due to SingStar and MGS4, my playtime has been low lately). I'm definitely way more of an Xbox fan than Nintendo fan (To be honest, I'm just not into Nintendo platforms much, outside of a few series. I'll flat out admit that despite all the great games it seems DS has, I just cannot get into mine, and I end up regretting most every game I buy).

The main reason why Xbox platforms aren't my main platform of support is because I've had the most trouble with them (last gen, I made the Xbox my center platform until mid 2003, but after having mine repaired so many times, I switched to PS2. This gen, 360 was the first next gen platform I bought and was willing to make it my main platform, but after I had it repaired (still giving me issues even), it made me want to buy a PS3 earlier than I anticipated and I made it my central platform for most games). But despite the trouble, I still play my 360 and would never get rid of it. I might get more 360 versions of games once I get a 360 Elite (I really want one. It's like I'll start to split multi-platform games more evenly).

I want to sell off a shitload of DVDs on craigslist...how much should I charge per DVD?

Tampon,

Whatever you do, don't drop the agreed-to price by 1/3 right before the meet....

You'll end up only getting around 1/2 the original offer and a sore corn-chute

Also:

Up here, we just got our first Sonic. It opened around 3 weeks ago and has been jam packed everyday since.

I drove past earlier this evening, and the drive-thru and drive-in were of course packed.

It's so busy at the Sonic that the police have set up a 'waiting lot' a half-mile down the street from the Sonic

And that 'waiting lot' has a line to get in...

Headline on MSN:

Why Don't Jehovah's Witnesses Vote?

I didn't know the Williams Sisters were supposedly Witnesses... However that article is full of factual errors.

Arrow over your head?

As somebody who has played almost every single BF game, I have no clue what you're talking about.

I would never do that, but thanks for the heads up just the same.

Purchase Uncharted immediately. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.Koggit's not the type to purchase many console games. The last 360 game I remember him getting was GTAIV, and before that, Halo 3.

Oh course I like Uncharted a lot. I got it on release. Initially, I wasn't all that excited about it (mostly bought because I really liked Naught Dog's other games), and ended up being my favorite game last year.

Anyway OTT, I'll admit my Dad wanted me to go out and play Golf with him, but I said nope, because it was my CoD4 night for CAG, and it was very important I show up. But, I did say I'd be willing to play Golf with him next week.

When was the tee time?

So I should hang onto the PS3? You really think it will gain value?
