If it does, you won't know about it for awhile. Yakuza 2 came out late last year in the states, but came out in December 2006 in Japan (turnaround of 18 months).

Now, on one hand, you could imagine that Sega was hedging their bets with Yakuza 2; taking their time to decide if they should release it at all for a system that was on its way out, and a game that was an expensive cult title (kinda). So they could turnaround faster if they tried.

However, I wonder what Sega's opinion of releasing it is in light of Valkyria Chronicles' sales in the US. They surely don't feel too inspired to release niche titles on the PS3. But, were VC sales bad enough to prohibit Yakuza 3 from coming stateside? I, for one, would love to play Yakuza 3. Download the final 7-minute trailer from the JPN PSN store. Fucking amazing.

I think it's safe to say, though, that we won't be getting Ryu Ga Gotoku Kenzan in the US. Dammit.

The expectations for Valkyria Chronicles were extremely low, though. It's sold out in most places, and great word of mouth spread on the game. Stores are starting to get in more copies now. I'd imagine the potential market for a game like Yakuza 3 is bigger.

Yakuza 2 didn't even get English voice work hough (Something I don't think a lot of Japanese games need), just subtitled.

This is for Bioshock:

I had a little trouble when getting the Historian trophy (Find all Audio Diaries), turns out that one Diary from Farmers Market: Andrew Ryan - First Encounter, ends up in Neptune's Bounty -- Smuggler's Hideout messages list so that threw me off when I was doing a checklist of all the diaries I had missed.

So if one Diary is missing from your Arcadia message list, that's probably it.

Just thought I'd put that out there

There seems to be conflicting reports about EA's new NHL 3 on 3 Arcade and when it's coming out. The release date I've seen for the 360 is on Feb. 11th, but the dates for the PSN version that I've seen say it's being released tomorrow (fingers crossed). Anyway, here is a link to the trophies:

Mostly because I thought that the 2 versions would be coming out the same week. EA had on their website that the 360 version was coming out the 11th, while I couldn't find a date for the PSN version, but what I read regarding the PSN version said it was coming out sooner. Anyway, I can't wait to play it. It was made by the people who did NHL '09 and it has a Rock the Rink (PS1) look to it.

Burnout Paradise Party Pack trophies are ridiculously easy (assuming you also have a camera). The massive party one takes a while (8 players, 8 rounds) but I got all the others within like 20 minutes. Just playing by myself, instead of passing the controller as it was intended to be played. $10 is pretty steep for what the pack adds in terms of functionality.

Trophies for Major League Baseball 2K9 have just been reveled and uploaded on the site. A total of 50 trophies can be earned with this retail title. Now that we have these trophies, I wonder how the other MLB titles will incorporate trophies. Check them out!

It seems that FIFA 09 will be getting trophies pretty soon, though they'll only be for the expansion pack unfortunately. :\

UPDATE: The head producer at EA has now confirmed that Fifa 09 will have trophies for the full game, as well as the expansion

Don't quote me on this, but I think I read somewhere that the reason Afro Samurai does not have trophies is because the game was certified, and due for release in 2008, but was delayed due to technical reasons... I guess they didn't want to spend the extra time to integrate the trophies. :\

Yeah thats kinda of my point, that games developed in 2008 still may not come with trophies. Everything that begins in 2009 will ofcourse get them. Depends on the dvelopers really.

But Sony makes MLB The Show and hasn't released a trophy list yet with less than a month to go. No word has come out either. Kinda scary for people wanting a baseball game with trophies. Will they patch trophies in?

I hate when you get a trophy patch after the game has been out for months, personally.

For real, as huge as this game was, I was always puzzled as to why it didn't include trophies yet had its own in-game awards

After the release of trophies for Tomb Raider: Underworld in Japan. Eidos has stated the owners of the game not in Japan should expect a patch which will add trophies to your game aswell. I noticed on the back of the Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection case, where the PS3/PSN logos are on top on the front, it mentions that it has trophy support. I looked at some of the others and R2 has that same thing along with all of the other features it has (online support, etc.), but Mirror's Edge and Rock Band 2 don't. So it seems like Sony's standardizing packaging now that trophies are becoming standardized, too.

Tomb Raider Underworld is going to be an easy Platinum. 12-15 hours to do. I suggest going from the Easiest Setting to the Hardest Setting for a 2nd playthrough because you can carry over your Health and Treasures Collected so you don't have to worry about them.

Back in January, Ubisoft revealed the Epilogue expansion DLC for Prince of Persia. They also revealed that it would contain more trophies, which we just so happen to have for y'all.
This expansion takes place immediately after the original Prince of Persia, and has been made to challenge players with new enemies and traps.
The Epilogue expansion will be released on February 26th. No price has been determined at this time.

A thread on the Game Trailers' forum claims to have the details on what we can expect from the next PS3 firmware drop.

Nothing's been confirmed by Sony and we'll ask for a 'no comment' when people turn up for work. All this info comes from a source who is said to work "in an R&D department at Sony". Stranger things have happened...

Friends List:
- Voice Messaging is now available as an alternative to text after selecting a user on the friends list. Voice message recordings are capped at 30 seconds.
- Home Integration: Saved PlayStation Home avatar photos can be selected as photo ID for Gamer Card/Friends List.
- Trophy number and Gamer Level are listed under Friend names for quick reference.

Gamer Card & Trophies:
- Gamer Card layout has been changed to more closely resemble the PlayStation Store aesthetic.
- Past Trophy information can be viewed in detail by selecting "Recent Trophy History" option.
- Newly acquired trophies auto-sync in the background
- Server infrastructure for Trophies has been optimized. Resulting in faster retrieval time for Gamer Card and Trophy information.

In-Game XMB:
- Loading time for In-Game XMB has been drastically reduced, resulting in a more seamless in-game experience.
- "Theme settings" options while in-game is now available, allowing custom themes to be applied to the In-Game XMB.
- Internet Browser can now be accessed while in-game.
- Voice messaging and voice chat options can be used while in-game.
- Options that cannot be used in the XMB during game sessions are grayed out (but still selectable) to eliminate user accessibility confusion.

Have read a fix for the burnout nighthawk (kitt) car trophy, if you backup and delete your save file, and then get the x3 boost chain in the car, you should get the trophy then. Just restore your save afterwords.

If anyone was confused why it was not working, that is a solution.

Just in case you didn't know, Midnight Club is getting a new expansion soon, the South Central Pack. It consists of two parts - one is the Upgrade Map, which is free for all and opens up the southern part of LA for you to go exploring in.

About motherfucking time, updating your trophies in playfire manually is a pain in the ass. Anyways, looking forward to it, shouldn't be too long till we're able to compare trophies online though.

I imagine it's because they're not just making a page for every profile yet, but making just one that pulls the info for the profile that's logged in at the moment.

Things like viewing friends' trophies, better PSN cards, and APIs for other sites to use will probably be coming at some point.

Yeah as you can tell from my sig, I agree it takes wayyyy too long to update profiles on playfire. The last time I updated it was after WipeoutHD.

Sounds like a cool feature, albeit pretty useless at this point if no one else can see them

I never bothered with manual updates of my trophies. This might be neat, but I'd rather they simply speed up accessing viewing other folks' trophy lists in the XMB. I'm always into checking what nutjob stack of trophies freaky earned since the last time I checked.

Freaky's is the only list that I'd never compare with. Usually it takes an absurd amount of time to download the trophy data and pictures but with him, it just stops pulling data halfway through (either that or I'm too impatient to wait for it all to download).

Wow, this is great. I can easily see whatever trophies I have, and compare them to what's on my Playfire card for accuracy. Any trophies that are missing on my PF card I can just see them by looking here... All without turning on my PS3. :D

I'm hesitant to put in my PSN password on the Playfire website, people were bitching before about Playfire sending spam messages to everyone in your friends list since it required you to log into your XBL account through the website (even though you can't send messages through the ps website, still kinda unnerving).

Anyways, now that you can pull data from servers for trophies, probably useless now to keep my Playfire card updated.

Interesting. Playfire (And I'm assuming other websites have this ability now as well) can automatically update your trophy care through the PSN stuff.
No site has that ability yet, but once its available www.PS3Trophies.com (http://www.PS3Trophies.com) will jump onto auto updating trophy cards.

By automatically he meant you log on and they'll pull your info and update, not that it automatically updates every time you get a trophy, like XBL does.

There has been a lot of talking lately about the Age of Booty patch, but it seemed to have been lost in the depths along with the other booty you may find. Well, now SCEE has dug the treasures up from the sea and finally released patch 1.03 which includes the trophies y'all!

SCEA seems to be falling a bit behind but hopefully the we'll see the patch in a matter of hours/days ourselves.

I was confused for a second reading the Terminator trophies while thinking they were Rock Band's trophies. I was wondering why it took place in the future and all that. :lol: I'd have given it a rent anyway since it's being made by Grin (Bionic Commando and Rearmed).

It seems to be PSN game-level trophies, though I'm not sure if they'll be added to the RB2 list or kept separate. I hate expert trophies though.

The friends list that they have shows everyone's trophy levels and trophy counts, which is a nice upgrade from what the US site's friends list can show. You can even pick 10 people to be on your quick friends list, so you could maybe select the 10 people whose levels you want to keep an eye on or the ten best friends on your list.

Yeah it asks me that too. So I clicked on the "submit" which says I should enter the info myself instead of transferring from my old EU account (which I dont have) and then it tells me to register my ps3 and enter all sorts of information.

I like how you can see all your friends' trophy counts at a glance. It would be nice to have that info directly on the XMB.

Hopefully when it is activated on the US side that fruity purple color will be changed to black also!

How often do these gamer tags update? I played resistance 2 for the first time last night and got a couple trophies (and then a couple more this morning), but none of that is showing as of right now on the tag.

Bit off topic but who do you guys think I should contact about the following problem:

I was one of the people that got the early Age Of Booty trophy patch. Now with the real patch out, I have 2 entries for Age Of Booty under trophies. The current one and the early one, which has a messed up picture and a platinum trophy.

Should I try Capcom or Sony support? Is it even possible for them to remove the early trophy data? I wouldnt even care but I cannot sync with server until this is resolved, and if my PS3 breaks I would lose most my trophies
