The promotion is still active. Just the registration points won't be given out. You also have to be somewhat patient.

If you took time to read the FAQ, you are accumulating points every time you create one car a day(50 points each day). There is a cap limit of 2000 points that you can get with one account. They just won't be rewarded yet.

For those who could not get the points, do not lose hope. You will still be able to earn points. At the end of the promotion, which is 9/19, you'll get them.

While im sure they have ways to take points off your account if they had some form of proof you did anything, Ive gone through about 3 MS point contest and have managed well over 20,000 MS points and have yet to have anything happen to me.

Are you referring to the Live Search Club? Because that was a different set of points. And they knew people were bypassing things using macros/bots. This is a bit different.

See, I bought all the DLC for Beautiful Katamari. There's several thousand points worth of stuff in there. Oblivion has a fair bit as well, although I only bought Shivering Isles and Mehrune's Razer.

Of course. All my stuff was for XBLA games and some DLC. You would be surprised how fast you can blow through points buying 800 point Arcade games. There is alot of quality titles up there!

You must play very little games then... I'm pretty sure I've spent over 5,000 MS points on DLC for games alone. Oblivion, Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War, etc... I'm not even going to count the arcade games I bought and haven't played yet.

But that's just my way, I don't expect you Point Jockeys to understand it. *shrug*

There's something like 25,000 points worth of Rock Band DLC alone. A very rough estimate of Arcade games puts those at about 75,000. Then there's the DLC for all the other games.

Very true indeed, but my biggest problem has been that all the DLC that I was interested in last year (well, almost all) was either released on actual discs, or became free. When you remove "those two games" (apparently none of you watch South Park, nor have a sense of humor -- god forbid I should insult the holy trinity of gaming, Christ almighty) there's not a lot of DLC. 60,000 points could buy most of the marketplace without the stuff from "those two games". And while some of the arcade games are interesting, anything worth a damn (Castlevania, for example) I already own in at least one or two versions. I'm totally cool with the MS point system, I'm happy that it's there, there's just not a lot that interests me. And aside from content for "those two games", I'd have a hard time spending 5,000 points, much less 15,000. It's probably just me, and no other human being on this board has that issue. *shrug*

At any rate, I'm pretty sure there's nothing more to "topic" about. This hit fatwallet, slickdeals, and a few other private deal sites as well as CAG. The site is just sending out emails with no codes, almost like the computer has nothing else to read from.. And with reports on here of people getting 15,000+ and others selling on ebay, I would be suprised to see this as anything but buried in the ground dead. :-({|=

I'd be slightly amazed if they did hit the 24 million in one night. They probably just stopped it so they could recoup and fix the problem.

I think that it's possible, not probable that they gave out the full 24 million. With as many places as this hit, and as greedy as a lot of people got, it's always possible all 24 million went out tonight. If I had to guess though, I'd wager that they stopped the promotion temporarily to reassess the situation. Which means, again, that if/when it comes up again, it's going to be buried in the ground dead. But time will tell.

Yeah. I don't think us internet users would actually get to 24 million in one night of madness. Those who will stick with the program would be fine. The promotion started on 6/25, so I won't worry much. They'll have enough points to give to us eventually. Its possible that they will just stop with the registration points and actually make people put some effort into going to the site for points.

A couple of pages back there was one guy with 56xx emails... All from the promotion. I wouldn't be surprised if he used some type of program to get all those points. 560,000 points... Unlimited supply of MS points would rock, but I don't think I would ever use that much.

Back to what I was trying to say. Unless there were a lot more people with 5,000+ emails, then I don't think they got the full 24 million.

You have to think about it in terms of numbers. Consider there's all of us on CAG, a lot of which are claiming in the double thousand point range. Imagine if all of the lurkers on SD did it, as well as a bunch on FW.. It could easily be done. Not likely, but it could be done.

I did get 15,000 points, but I gave away 2,500 points to someone who won a COD4 private match off of my friends list and gave my brother 2,500, so I neeted 10,000 points, I bought like 8 arcade games, I still have 6,000 or so points, but Im saving them for future DLC

There's no way, even with so many folks who assume they are entitled to everything, that they exhausted 24 million Microsoft Points.

Plus, the bulk of the points (1900 of the 2000 available from this promotion) are sent later, and I'm sure there's going to be a verification process with that as well. All you have to do is sign into the site daily, and vote on the cars.

Alien Hominid is one of my favorite games on XBLA :) Also, if you ever liked StarFox 64, Aces of the Galaxy is a fun game that is reminiscent of it. Oh, and you can't go wrong with Soul Calibur, like you have listed, it's fun, and has easy achievements. I'm personally thinking of picking up Band of Bugs and Marble Blast Ultra, and saving the rest of my points for upcoming games (Bionic Commando, Castle Crashers, Feeding Frenzy 2, Fable 2 games, etc.)

I think they are making changes in response to the fraud.

There's no way, even with so many folks who assume they are entitled to everything, that they exhausted 24 million Microsoft Points.

Plus, the bulk of the points (1900 of the 2000 available from this promotion) are sent later, and I'm sure there's going to be a verification process with that as well. All you have to do is sign into the site daily, and vote on the cars.

well at least i got an extra 100 that evened me out to 1600 points... also i guess u can make silver accounts and redeem the 100 points and buy a crapload of gamerpics (i think they work from acct to acct as long as they are on the same hard drive)

I say try them. Worse that can happen is you get an error message saying that you've reached the max. The code won't become invalid or anything. You can give them to someone else as a last resort.

Yea, I am trying them all now. They seem to be working... hopefully I can enter them all, which is what I'll do now, asthe opportunity could disappear :(

Basically, you can only redeem one code this time. If you try to redeem using another code from this promotion, it will notice that you already redeemed a code from this promotion and won't allow you to do so.

Yeah, when I read your post it kinda scared me, so I just had to test out my 1600pt card just to make sure it was the site, not the codes.

theres an option on the site when u enter ur information. click on the recieve ms point box or else they wont email any point code.

Okay, so I just got my code. I'm going to go onto my XBL account from console and try putting it in from there since I don't want to link that thing to my MSN account since I never use it. Either way, as long as I submit a car and a rate something a day I can earn 100 points a day until I max out at 2000, at which point I'm done. Then they send me a code when the offer is over that I can use to redeem the points I've built up each day, right?
