Man, mailinator.com seriously makes this too easy. It took me just under 40 minutes to get 8,000 points so far (I made that my goal since that = five 1600 point cards at $20 each = $100). I definitely recommend having a goal since it lets you see the light at the end of the tunnel, heh. How I'm doing it:

1. Open 3 tabs (the OP of this thread, mailinator.com, points.microsoft.com)
2. Click the link in the OP and open the contest in a 4th tab
3. Have "@mailinator.com" copied and ready to paste.
4. Click through to get to the form. Since the only things it actually verifies are the state abbreviation & the 5 digit zipcode, put "az" in every box (name, address, state, etc.), then hit any number 5 times for the zip code.
5. In the box for e-mail, put in any character (single character or just a few will work fine), then paste in the @mailinator.com afterwards (so you have something like a@mailinator.com). Do the same in the other email field.
6. Paste in @mailinator.com as the password in both fields.
7. Check the third box so you get the MS Points then hit submit.
8. Once it loads, close the fourth tab.
9. In the 2nd tab, in the box in the top left, put in whatever characters you used for the email. No need to put in @mailinator.com afterwards, just put in the characters. (so if you used a@mailinator.com, just put in "a" then hit go).
10. Open the email, copy the code.
11. Go to the 4th tab, go to Redeem code, paste the code into the address bar at the top instead of the URL, then copy each segment one at a time and paste them in. Hit submit, then hit Accept.
12. While it's loading after you hit Accept, go back to the 2nd tab and where the "alternate email" is listed at the top, highlight, copy & paste "@mailinator.com" again
13. Back in the third tab, click on Redeem code so that the code entry page will be open.
14. Go back to the first tab and click the link in the OP to open the contest in a 4th tab.
15. Repeat all.

It took me just about the length of Jimmy Eat World's CD "Bleed American" to get 8000 points using that method. The only part that takes a while is entering each segment of the code, but the entry into the contest itself takes literally 5 seconds once you get into a rhythm. The only thing that might screw it up is that I used up a lot of the single digit emails, but it won't take much longer just using double digits I'm sure. :P

5,000 MS points is nothing man... Now 15,000+ MS points starts to get a bit excessive. I change my gamertag every 2-3 months. 800 MS points there. Down to 4,200. I buy 4 400 point arcade games. 1600 points there brings me down to 2,600 points. Buy 3 800 point arcade games and I'm down to 200 MS points.

I buy a lot of arcade games ;).

If anyone is really looking for someone to blame, go blame Fat Wallet. Seriously, the CAG who posted this shit on FW doesn't deserve the title CAG anymore. Most of the worthwhile arcade games are 800. Then's there DLC, ranging from everything from Oblivion stuff to Halo maps.

Honestly, I could think of tons of ways to spend my won points. However, I'm torn between saving them or spending then immediately in case of them being revoked.

A lot of the content for Bullet Witch (new level challenges, costumes) are either free or only 20 points a piece. The hero/villain pack was 500, and I got a 600 points from the Tropicana promotion. Last I checked, I still had 20 sitting in my account. I may use it for a gamerpic or something. I can't really justify downloading all that content when the 360s are so prone to RROD, and MS' content protection scheme is so damned buggy.

Well, there's that, and the fact that there's a ton of stuff on there that's just fluff. I'd never buy half the content on XBL, even if it was free. :D
