PS3 Video Conferencing

A friend of mine was telling me about this. My friend and her husband use it to talk to her husband's parents.

Apparantly it just uses an HD camera and the chat function. My friend said it worked pretty well.

Anyone else tried it?

Using the PSEye right?

I think once I get my pay cheque on Thursday, I may try and grab one of these. It would be fun to conference with my friends as they are expecting a baby this week (Like Wombat!) so I want to start corrupting the kid early.

I tried this with the XB Live camera and it worked ok, but the resolution was horrible. One of these days I'll buy the EyeToy and use that instead :)

Also I hear the camera is great with Eye of Judgement. Which when I plan to buy I will get the camera bundle.

If you have an old PS2 eyetoy those seem to get the job done, though the picture quality sucks.

Best deal I've got on a PS Eye is whenever a 25% off PS3 coupon rolls around at GS (360 this week, so hopefully we get one tomorrow). Picked up EOJ + Camera for only $26 after discount a few months ago.

I just use the PS Eye and it isn't bad. The reason for the low quality is the resolution of the camera is low.

Video conferencing rules. I thought it was a nice touch that it's held inside the creepy white room from the old PS3 commercials.
