I just picked this up for $10 on Kmart clearance because it seemed really cool to be able to play your own songs, but I read some reviews on gamfaqs, and they all didn't like it very much. What is your opinion of the game and do you think I should keep it or return it?

I haven't played it, but, yes, it gets pretty universally panned, especially by DDR players. For one, with many songs the timing gets messed up as you get further into the song (some work fine, though), for another, they pointlessly switched the placement of the forward and back arrows on the screen, which messes you up if you play any other DDR game, and lastly, you just can't expect an automatically generated set of steps to be all that fun to play, and it isn't - you end up seeing the same repeating patterns after a while. It's a miss (from everything I've read.)

Yeah, that's what I read, but they gave it ok review scores despite the fact that what they said was so terrible, so maybe its just plain fun. That's why I wanted to ask about it. And switching the steps will probably fuck me up, cuz I'm so used to ddr. Probably just gonna return it.
