[img-r=1]815[/img-r]Play-Asia brings another great sale with a goofy name, offering up 25% off all in-stock items that were not released in the last 30 days.

Check out highlights and the main sale page (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-17-71-2-74-1qs-49-en.html), or click the comments link below to see your fellow CAG's recommendations.

If this has already been posted would a mod please lock this thread.

Think about summer, think about the beach, the sea and all that fun! Play-Asia.com is a sea of popular games, movies, discs and toys, come catch your long time favorites and discover lots more, join the many happy swimmers, sun bathers and octopus catchers at the seaside this summer!

Get ready to hit the beaches as the Summer Sale will commence from this very moment onwards towards the 20th of July, all in stock items will be reduced by 25% (yes you've read correctly, a whopping 25%!), just spot our Summer Sales mascot, the octopus, on our many product pages and catch him.

The octopuses are running loose throughout the website and only stay on a product page for as long as it is in stock. Some products are restocked regularly so octopuses come back every so often while others have limited availability so the octopuses never return once they are caught.

To avoid disappointment, get your baskets and water tanks ready and catch them as quickly as you can spot them to avoid disappointment. This octopus catching season is only going to last for a couple of days, start catching now and save plenty of cash in the process.

Feel free to share your octopus catching experience with your friends by joining our Affiliate Program. You can earn up to 12% commission on any sales referred by you.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We have carefully selected around 300 of our top selling products from throughout our complete catalogue in this news post to show you just a few examples of how the discount looks and feels like. There are a total of more than 10,000 different products at Play-Asia.com that have been discounted, so make sure to take your time for your bargain hunting (... eh octopus catching).

A whopping 25% discount has been applied to Play-Asia.com's regular selling price. This means that already discounted products have become even cheaper. Prices listed in this news post already reflect the latest sales price. Only products listed as "shipping within 24h" availability are still discounted, while others have already been grabbed by someone else.

Please also note that to get the most updated status for a product, you will be required to add this to your shopping cart. Product pages and category listings are subject to caching and may not reflect the current situation where the last piece of an item has been picked by another customer just minutes ago.

Plenty more discounts can be found in our constantly updated Bargain Pages. http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-17-71-2-74-1qs-49-en.html

Hmm, this makes Coloris, Digidrive and Boundish bit Generations for GBA 7.43 each.

I'll have to consider those. I think I read that one of them is pretty much just Pong though.

I like the matching color for the Wii, but I just don't use corded controllers anymore whenever I use the gamecube controller to play a game that supports it. I always use the wavebird. If they would just make an upgraded white wireless wavebird for the Wii that allows you to play games and navigate the Wii's menu with it, then I would definitely bite, but otherwise, I just don't see the need really.

Picking up all three knocked one down to 6.43. I picked up all 3 as well as the Famicom Mini (Classic NES) Legend of Zelda also for 7.43.

They have some other Famicom Mini games also discounted, but none that cheap. SMB is 20.xx unfortunately.

Just copped that Battle Fantasia for $44.57 (shipped).

EDIT: Damn, those white and silver PS3 controller looks sweet as hell. I still have two unopened Sixaxis controllers from last winter though. It's not much of a loss as they were $20 each shipped (Amazon), but I'd rather have different colors. Rumble is a plus ;)

I think this is finally enough to convince to buy Ouendan. I loved Elite Beat Agents, and I bought Ouendan 2 from YesAsia several months ago. While I'm at it, I think I'm going to add two Bit Generation games as well. Looks to be about $51.53 plus shipping for all three.

EDIT: Shipping costs $5.90, so the total will be $57.43. Gotta think about it a bit more before I pull the trigger. Any advice?

I'm ordering DJ Max 2, but on the confirmation page there is a message warning that reads

Total value does not contain any duty & taxes for destinations outside Hong Kong. Please ALWAYS ask your local customs office if in doubt (Duty free import USA up to US$200, E.U. EUR 22). Duty & tax consists of your local GST/VAT rate and a processing fee. Digidrive is very strange at first. You basically just direct incoming objects into a specific area (left, right, up, down), I played it for about a week when I got it. Coloris is cool but if you have any sort of color deficiency, you might want to pass as the differences between colors is often very subtle.

I doubt they will be any cheaper though! :)

Slide Adventure Mag Kid (http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-9g-49-en-70-21px-4-6.html) for 14.93, which is pretty good. It's a cute little game in a Katamari sort of way. Comes with this big controller that plugs into the GBA port, which essentially is like an optical sensor from a mouse, which you use to move the character around.

I'm picking up Rhythm Tengoku (which I've wanted FOREVER) and the Daigasso Band Brothers GBA expansion pack. Heading to Japan in about a week and a half, so probably will get the newer Daigasso, Tengoku, and Stafi 5 (assuming they are all released by then).

The site was having ALOT of problems earlier... plus, he wasn't saying the site was bad, but the servers can only handle so many logins\visits to the site and that is probably what caused the problems.

I beg of you, next time please don't reply negatively to someone else's message if you don't have any idea what you are talking about. You don't even know what spyware is.

Are the any limitations to this sale (aside from the obvious stated in the OP)? A lot of the items I've checked out don't have the octopus and seem to be regularly priced. Also, I was really hoping to grab a Mint Green PSP with this, but I'm guessing it doesn't apply to hardware?

I picked up Daigasso! Band Brothers Request Selection, since it goes for slightly more here in Japan. My Band Brothers collection is finally complete!

I've also noticed that Play-Asia's clearance prices almost always coincide with the games on clearance at Sofmap stores. Interesting.

While very true, what makes me guffaw is that they're charging $4 more for a game that you can get at the store, and that's before shipping.

I just got Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. $33.67 is a pretty good deal! Living in Canada, I couldn't have the $29.99 deal on amazon.com (amazon.ca doesn't have it...sheesh) and I've never seen the reprint in stores around here. Shipping was only 3 bucks.

I totally jumped on the Super Robot Wars: OG Gaiden non-limited for 22bucks. Extremely nice price. Animations in this game are freaking awesome.

I bought the Ltd. Nights package for the PS2 - ~$50 shipped.

What is the easiest way to play imports on a PS2? I read something about a 'Memento' memory card earlier in the year... ???

thanks opSame, I did too. I really, really want the game on PS3, so I went ahead and got it (if it comes stateside, at least it will by the time I make more money). I just really like the demo, and the deal is too good to pass up.

My Optimus Prime iPod speakers are currently filling my office with the smooth sounds of Rick Astley. Rhythm Tengoku will be played tonight.

You do realize they're in Hong Kong right? For them to stock a US version of a game, it has to travel from China (or wherever it's manufactured), to the US publisher of the game (in the US) then back across the ocean to Hong Kong.

Never saw the opportunity to enter in a $5 off coupon I got from my last order, but I wanted to make sure the stuff didn't go out of stock so I passed on it.

So why aren't things staying on sale? This is really lame. I wanted to get Vampire Darkstalkers Chronicles and Sega Ages Treasure but they VDC went out of stock before I knew it.

Now it's back in stock and neither are on sale.

EDIT: Hell, it's still listed on the Summer Sale page but no price reduction.

You can not use a coupon on items that are on sale.

It looked like Digital Devil Saga 1 wasn't on sale. Is there a reason for this? Do you have to add it to your cart?

Sorry, I have never ordered from play-asia before

Held off on importing Battle Fantasia considering the uS version should have fixes and additional features. The 360 version is coming stateside. PS3 version, not too sure since I heard SCEA isn't too sure about letting it be released here (probably because it has no English voiceacting). Europe is getting the game though. Since I felt the price to import from Europe would be high, I decided to just get the Asia version.

Anybody know anything about the Play-Asia return policy? After I first put in that order I mentioned a few days back, I had gone to "change your order" because I thought I was going to add something, but I ended up not adding it and just resubmitting the order unchanged. Soon afterwards, I got a couple of emails saying that two different orders had shipped, and sure enough it looks like I got double charged.

I don't know if I just got crossed up while I was in the "change your order" phase and actually made two orders, or if one of them somehow shipped while I was making the "changes" (which took all of about a minute and a half after the order was originally submitted) and I'm getting two due to a quirk in their system, but I'm going to try to send back one order.

Unfortunately, I can't check the website from behind a web filter at work, and I just moved so I don't have any internet access at home right now, otherwise I would just check myself.

If it costs too much to ship back to them, or they don't take returns, or whatever, those of you that missed out on the white dual shock 3 or the white GC controllers can look forward to my future posts in the buy/sell/trade forum. :D

Also, how long is the Summer Sale going on?

Ended up just buying:

Battle Fantasia (Japan edition -- not sure why I was picky about this.. Asia version should have been fine, and was $3-4 cheaper. I guess I was thinking of resale value if "The Best" only affects Japan, and not Asia. I wanted written material to be in Japanese rather than Chinese. I also wanted to avoid networking issues, since I have a Japanese PS3. Not sure if they are actually different at all.)

Magical Vacation, for GBA. Whatever, it was $5.99 and only added $2 to s/h.
