Has anyone picked up skate recently? I bought a used ps3 copy for a friend about 3 weeks ago on edge+employee discount right after the price drop, and the price was 26.99 when a new copy is 39.99. Anyway, my question is whether that was a temp. price or if a used copy is really 26.99.

GS.com doesn't show a listing for used ps3 copies.

Bought an edge card today with my purchase. Picked up Ratchet and Clank Future and Hot Shots Golf OOB. Last copy of R&C and they had 2 left for HSG. Was thinking about Uncharted but they had 20 copies of it and after the discount was around the same price used at Gamefly when it was in-stock. So I might wait and see if Gamefly has it used again maybe cheaper. If I don't like HSG I have 7 days to exchange it so maybe I'll get Uncharted anyway.

Came out to $88.63 for both games and the edge card after tax. Never really buy used games at Gamestop but figured the card would cost be around $5 and I get a year subscription to Game Informer which I've actually liked alot better then EGM lately.

Well, the Hot Shots games were always pretty fun. Folklore? It's just pretty cheap (and uncommon I believe), as well as a PS3 exclusive, so those are always good to get to at least try.

I personally have no real interest in either but there's some value to picking up those with this deal.

Wow that sucks. Luckily most of the people that work at the Gamestops around here are gamers themselves who are opposed to practices such as gutting and such, so they always take care to make sure the stickers are easily removable and people don't get "newsed" games.

This really is a great single player game in the drakkan gaming area. you fight a little on land which, astride a dragon can be really fun such as, eating the knights, fighting dragons, breathing a long firey breath all over a legion of knights and watching them Burn!! this game got bum reviews and I couldn't disagree more. the controls (both analog and sixaxis) provide great control and while there are still some collision detection problems, these are minor flaws on a Diamond in the rough!

If you'd just gotten an EDGE card, you would've saved $11.50 (I estimated the used prices of Folklore and EoJ since they're not available online... I dropped them to half price, and I think that's being generous). That makes $3.50 for the EDGE card for any future purchases. I would say that would've been worth it.

I got Heavenly sword, Folklore, devil may cry 3 special edition, Mgs4, and ninja gaiden sigma on three separate trips. for ~95 bucks. The great thing about the PS3 Blu-rays is that none of my discs came scratched up thanks to the scratch-proof protective coating that is required on all ps3 discs. Some had some markings but after a good wipe down they were as good as new. This is really great for used games.

Wow, GS trade in values are bad. You could have gotten $30 before shipping EASY on ebay for Eternal Sonata, and auctions for both Dawn of Sorrow and Portrait of Ruin bundled together hit $50 with regularity.

You may not have wanted to deal with the hassle for a lot of games that big, but it would definitely have been worth singling a few out and putting them online.

The employee looks around the PS3 and comments that it says "'manufactured Nov 2006', must be the 60GB." The fact that this guy didn't even know it was a 60gb must also mean he doesn't know the resell value of it or that Gamestop is gonna rape him up the A in the trade. Needless to say, a part of me died due to his ignorance today, so sad.

I'd suggest Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Absolutely worth it if you've never played a NG before... and still worth it even if you have. And I think it's a much better game than NG2.

I'd suggest Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Absolutely worth it if you've never played a NG before... and still worth it even if you have. And I think it's a much better game than NG2.

It's kind of crazy how different the two games are. I'm the opposite though, I found Sigma to be a bore and loved NG2.

Compared to each other, Sigma really seems like a port of a last-gen game. They really half-assed the development of that one.

Not to detract too much from the thread, I like Sigma more because the combat seems more precise and less "massive slaughter." NG2 is able to put around 15 enemies on screen at once (with significant slowdown, I might add)... at the price of tactics. The weapons are all redesigned with wide sweeping motions and knockback attacks for this reason, which makes it feel more like a hackandslash rather than NG. This is also why all the Ultimate Techniques now look like a flashy mess that you can't even see what's going on. The bosses weren't nearly as good (or as difficult). And besides the bloody chunks? I think Sigma looks just as good as NG2.

Oh and speaking of half assed development, they actually managed to make the camera WORSE. They shifted it slightly down and closer to Ryu. When there's a scripted area where you're supposed to Bird Jump up a shaft, the camera should NOT swing all over the place uncontrolled. That's just damn sloppy. This is just one example, but one where they had every opportunity to test/fix because it's scripted. Hopefully they release some kind of patch to fix this mess. I never complain about the camera, but after the original NG spoiled me, controlling NG2's camera was a chore.

Although, I did enjoy both games and I think they should be a part of every videogame library in some form or another.

Bad Company was easily worth the $70 I paid for it the day it came out. I've been gaming for 16+ years, and Bad Company is probably the 3rd game that I've bought at retail price the day it came out...it is that good. It is silly that you're willing to pay almost $25 for Lost Planet (a game I wouldn't pay more than $10 for), but you won't lay down another $15 for the best shooter of the year...yes, it is better than COD4 IMO.

The coupon is a promo code, and so is the discounted HS. So the coupon wont automatically work, it'll need to be manually overided.

Ah, I see why I was mistaken. I've been using the 50% extra trade-in coupon, but they've been doing a manual override for me which does go in before the edge card and gives me 65% extra instead of 60%.

I read online that it was a remastered hd version of hard boiled. Does anyone know for sure if it is HD or not?It doesn't look HD at all, but even worse is that you can't watch it like a DVD. It's accessed thru the Extras menu in the game and then you can only play, chapter skip forward, and pause/stop it. No FFWD or REW or back skipping to previous chapters. It totally sucks and makes watching it a drag. I was severely disappointed that they did such a shoddy implementation of this feature. Since it's now less expensive than the regular version, it's an OK buff, but I feel sorry for those who shelled out an extra Hamilton for it new and got this sorry setup.

It's *really* not that bad. I almost picked it back up in this sale, but decided it'll probably be dropping in price again soon anyway. I had it when it first came out & traded it in, not because of "teh sucky controls" but because one of the later level really frustrated me.

On another note, used the coupon one last time today. Traded in MGS4 since I beat it last night (and no interest in the multi) and picked up Lego Indiana Jones. Got .84 cents back after Edge card & coupon. ;)
