My Live Gold expired a few months ago, so I'm not sure how many people this applies to. I saw a similar deal before, but not sure if there was one recently or if this is an ongoing deal.

I guess a free XBLA game is better than nothing, but you can get a 12+1 month card cheaper than the 50 dollar 12 month online subscription.

I think they're given out at random if you're signed up to receive Xbox Flash emails. I got a 'Buy 2 XBLA Games, get Heavy Weapon for free' offer. I did the offer the first week of June (Catan and Ikaruga) and got my code on the 8th of July.

If you read the conditions, it says that it only applies to the user that the promotion was emailed to.

This sounds most likely that you get one of these free 5 dollar games ONLY when you buy the 12 month subscription with a CC through your 360 dashboard.

I got the same email. I've been thinking about renewing and was kinda excited about this offer until I saw what the selection was. I have the two good games and have no desire to own the other three. It's a shame they offer old stuff instead of giving you an offer with real meat.

I just went through the process with a subsription card I bought online from a retailer. I already had a 1 month Gold subscription going on this month from GTA IV so I'm not sure if that will effect it. Find out in a month I suppose.

I think the "sign up" and "12mo" signal this doesn't apply to you buying a 12+1 month card at a B&M store.

The best ones are easily Assault Heroes and Marble Blast (the one that's like Marble Madness). Sonic comes in third and the other two trail behind Sonic. IMO

I only put Sonic in third instead of first because the game is so common to get elsewhere and cheaper. Pure gameplay wise I think it comes in first.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but thought I should update it in case a similar offer comes along (this offer happens pretty regularly) so that people know how successful we were with it. I don't think my time on the phone is worth the $5 game I don't really want to play.
