Wow the ps3 fanboys are hitting the roof over the FF13 deal. I would probably call myself a ps3 fanboy, I still think people are overreacting.

* ps3 still gets FF13, ie., not 360 exclusive.
* FF is not a game which appeals to the casual audience, thus people who want this game will likely have already purchased their system of choice, so I really don't see this as a system seller.
* I think the fact that SE is coming out with other 360 exclusives is more harmful
* Fallout again is a fairly hardcore title, and I don't see this being a huge deal.
* Rock Band 2 timed exclusivity is probably a big deal, as this game has a broader appeal than FF13, and Fallout.
* Mii's are laughable
* new dashboard interface definitly beats the old bubble gum interface, probably levels the playing field with Sony's sleek XMB.
*16x10 screen support would be nice. I am sick of my the streching when I play my ps3 on my cpu monitor.
* Copy entire games to hard disk. This would be really handy on PS3, where we can change HDD to 500GB model.

Just my $0.02. Hopefully Sony's conference tommorrow has some positives for the console.

I'm actually not interested in final fantasy. I don't play rpgs,but I wanted it to stay on sony since it is a big title, and sony needs more big titles.

I agree, my question is whether ff13 versus is still sony exclusive. The only square game that hurts is star ocean, I really liked both 2 and 3, but I still expect it will come out for ps3 eventually.

The only possible dissapointing thing about 13 not being exclusive is if it will make them cut down on content/graphics. If they make the PS3 version as they were planning then port it after I don't care.

I posted this over in the 360 area, but I'm tired of 3rd party exclusives altogether. What I found most interesting is that there is still no release date or even timeframe for FF13. If Star Ocean 4 is spring 2009, which technically means as late as June, I guess FF must be holiday 2009 at best.

BTW - I hope this announcement encourages Sony to open up a bit more on what's coming from Team Ico tomorrow!

Also, just to reply to the previous post, Star Ocean 4 has been announced for both PS3 and 360 - no exclusivity there.

Not an ff guy here. What is versus?

I imagine Sony will be pumping them to make the PS3 version much bigger than 8.4GB, so that they talk about Blu-Ray's size everytime FF13 is mentioned.

Let's not trash the competition's press conference, it's not worth it. MS showed off some decent stuff and I figure Sony will too.

You are right FFXIII IS still coming to PS3. This isn't like Star Ocean 4 which isn't.

My mistake - I thought Star Ocean was just a timed exclusive, but I guess S-E later said there were no plans for a PS3 release. Sony needs to buy out Sega and get them cracking on new Phantasy Star and Skies of Arcadia installments.

Sony needs to buy out Sega and get them cracking on new Phantasy Star and Skies of Arcadia installments.So far, Sega has put their big Japanese games on PS3, so I would not be surprised if a Shining game comes to PS3 (but they aren't the greatest theses days).

They did not say exclusive next to the game, so who knows. But like I said, it comes to 360 first, so I will buy it on 360.

Valkyria Chronicles is still PS3 exclusive, and it's an RPG.

other than the FFXIII announcement, MS didn't really have that much.
