Well, as some of you may know, I'm a Rubik's cube fanatic. I love them, they're awesome. Well, recently, a 7x7x7 Rubik's cube was released. But the cheapest price I could find? $100 with free overnight shipping. Man, I'm so sad right now. I REALLY want that cube, but don't want to pay $100.

Anyway, any other cubers out there felling the same pain? We wait years for the damn things to come out, and they finally come out, but cost a small fortune.

I can't even solve the normal rubik's cube, I couldn't imagine a 7x7x7 cube!

Why is it so expensive? Lack of market so they only make so many?

Just glue 7 Rubik's Cubes together.

I win.

They're so expensive because it took years of research and design to make them. There's A LOT of thought put into this mechanism. In fact, this design is said to be able to handle ANY cube size. (They plan on making up to 13x13x13.) Also, yes, there is a limited quantity. I think I'm going to buy one though. If I do, you can keep an eye out for a video.

Here's a picture for those of you having a hard time imagining it. I've solved a computer 7x7x7 before, but I want the real thing. OMG it's so awesome!

It looks like it's barely staying together.

And it looks like it's rounded.

I never could get a normal one. I some how got it from a cube to some odd shape and gave up because I could never get it back to a cube. I always wanted to get another one and start over. Any place to get one for a good price?

Ahh, you had a Square-1, not a rubik's cube. Look something like this?

I have one of those as well, much trickier that the normal cube. But, if you want to start, they sell Rubik's cubes at Wal-Mart for $10, and they come with the instructions. I own what's called a speed cube, and it's got tension adjustments and everything. :hot: Pretty cool.

And yes, the cube does look like it's going to fall apart, but it won't. The one in the pictures has been used quite a bit. Also, yes, it's 'pillowed', or rounded, to make the inner workings turn easier for faster solving.

I want to see a video of someone dropping that 7 cube. Looks like an awesome explosion of plastic waiting to happen.

The one I had I'm almost sure said Rubik's Cube on the box it came in. I also remember it having instructions on how to get all the sides the same. Only I found the instructions in the box about an hour after I tried to get it on my own. I was 6 or 8 at the time but I know it had the instructions and almost sure it said Rubik's Cube on it.

So would a pyramid be easier or harder?
