PSN - video rental service in Canada

Note to mods: This is Canada specific. No knee jerk reactions please.

Does anyone know when the PSN downloadable movie/tv service is coming to Canada. I was hoping we would have got it last night, like the US. I thought the fact that sony is a global distributor of movies already would allow them to roll out in all regions almost simultaneously.

It got announced yesterday, it'll take a while for this service to progress from its limited launch.

If you're really interested you could try contact Sony Computers Entertainment Canada. They are extremely small though and without direct contact information. At least as far as I could find. http://www.playstation.ca/contact.aspx

I was a bit disappointed when they said "you will be able to do this tonight", and it turned out to be only for America.

I hate when Canada is left out like this.

Apparently under the TOS, (I believe I got an email about a new segment added to it a few days ago) under "VIDEO CONTENT" it states:
"SCEA licenses digitalized content of programs, including television shows and movies ( “Video Content”) to you for your personal, private, non-commercial viewing in the United States only on a limited number of activated PLAYSTATION®3 ..."

So maybe that's why Canada doesn't have it right now?

Second paragraph, last sentence. Don't know how credible the site is...pulled it off the US PS forums as well. Either way, I don't think anyone would lie about something like that.

That sounds like to me like "probably, but Ihave no idea when, or if we are even currently working on it". But still nice find. It does make me feel a little better.

Thanks. SCEE has said it's not coming out there in 2008. We'll probably get the same treatment.
