I'm going to have to buy a new Xbox 360 since mine does not work right anymore. I sent it for repairs twice and they never fixed the problem, so instead of dealing with repairs again I'm just going to buy another one.

I really want to get the elite so I know that I'm getting the falcon chip and I like the black better. Now I have the regular 20GB HDD and I'm wondering if it's possible to transfer save data from the 20GB HDD to the 120GB HDD equipped on the Elite.

Or would it be better to just buy another Pro system and just switch out the HDD's?

If you get an Elite you can send away for a TRANSFER cable. It is free via XBOX.com....just search around on the website.

You only can do the transfer between the 20GB drive and the 120GB drive. It wipes the 20GB clean when the transfer is done.

Link to the page on the MS site:

Form you'd fill out is at the bottom of the page, and it's a PDF file.

they are really quick w/the shipment of the cable...I got the elite last summer and the cable came to me within a week from the day I asked for it.

If you don't want to wait for the cable and have a memory card you can use that as well. It takes about an hour but can be done. Also you can go to xbox.com and transfer the drm of all your consoles to the new elite and download stuff again.
