Out of all the RPGs out there, Vay (!?) gets a iphone release. Thats funny, sad, and great on so many levels. I have the Sega CD one, its not a bad game, a bit generic, but not bad.

Been a while since I heard anyone even mention this game. I'm probably 1 of 5 on CAG that actually beat Vay. So many sweet memories..... poor Pottle.....

An RPG on the iPhone makes a lot of sense (or on the iPod Touch in my case.) So, anyone tried this version? Any good?

Just another thing to look forward to when I get my iPhone.

The AppStore is a cool and addicting (and dangerous), but they really need to do two things: improve the review system (add discussions, for one thing, so people don't post starred reviews when they are asking a question or making a comment), and they desperately need to add demos of for-pay apps. When you buy an app and it turns out to not be what you expected, or just not very good, it's no fun. Reviews (and especially the star ratings) aren't always helpful. They need demos and they need discussions right in iTunes.

This is easily worth the $5 asking price. I've never played the original, but I'm enjoying this.

A complete copy used to sell for an easy $60 on ebay. Now it barely gets $30.

Vay was generally in the $30 to $40 range, might've spiked to $60 here and there but it was usually a rung below other rare Sega CD titles in price. Besides, you could always get Vay for under $40 at eStarland.
Is this the Working Designs version they ported?
the game got a new translation

I'm only saying cause I sold my copy for $60 several years ago. (I'm talking a decade ago)

Of all the Sega CD games to get on the iphone, Vay?
Id figure Lunar should be up on there. Well, i need to get around to playing Vay and Lunar on my Sega CD, there just sitting in a box, waiting for me to touch them.
Oh yea, did you see the character designs on the site? Talk about "fan art" material. Its really really crappy. Its looks as bad as the Dicks sporting goods anime cartoon characters. They have fan art looking characters on certian items like candy in the store. Accually, that looked better than whats on the site.
I didnt think it was the Working Designs translation, seeing how, they went under a couple of years ago. So this would come from the company itself rather than the english publisher...

The port isn't amazing, but it is pretty cool to me that someone ported a game this niche. I have to give them props for that.
