No not an RPG either but a FPS MMO. At first when I thought about the next Halo game being an MMO my nose went right up and I thought EWWWW! However the more I think about it the more I see ways it could work.

I think it would be cool if they created a huge rolling landscape that seemed like a real world. You get spawned in at random points in the world and then just go on kill or be killed sprees. Servers could support a few hundred people and have rankings. As you score kills or get killed you move up or down in the rank. When you reach a certain rank you are moved to a server of higher ranked players.

The thought of a few 100 people running around in a giant open world all trying to kill eachother is pretty cool if they handled it right. And again I love the idea of ranked servers, really gives you something to strive for.

What do you guys think of the rumor?

I don't know. I always thought a massive FPS game which plays out like a real war (sort of like the new game MAG for the PS3) would be cool if done correctly. If Bungie is working on this, it could turn out ok. It would basically be like Halo 3 deathmatch, but on a much bigger scale.

not sure what to think the balance in halo to me is a little wonky in multiplayer ,melee feels to strong last time I played it which is why I switched to COD4 and UT where its focusing on "weapons" which to me is what a shooter is about so I don't know if I'd bother to play this at all really.

not a big fan of the alleged mmo fps games that are in development...I am fine with 8 v 8. It is big enough to have great battles, yet small enough where you can easily talk with teamates and plan an attack.

I don't think it's a horrible idea. They could build an entire halo to go around, you get to choose your side (covenant or human) and fight your way to the top of the ranks. Obviously not everybody would be a master chief or arbitor.

Kotaku also posted a story today titled "Jizz Mopping Through The Dildo Wonderland," so take all info with a grain of salt.

Did anyone play planetside? It just wasn't fun at all. I didn't feel like I accomplished anything in that game. Once you had some bases covered, you'd log off, wake up in the morning, and they'd be captured by another team.

Lame.
