I have the chance to acquire a bunch of first-party DS games. Unfortunately, while they are complete in every other way, none of them have the registration key. Even though Nintendo doesn't seem to offer any incentive whatsoever to register your games, I like to do it anyway.

Even the 7 games I bought from EBGames had the unused registration keys. I was starting to get the impression that I was the only one that cared enough to register. I guess I was taking it for granted.

How easily do people part with their keys? If I were to buy this lot of games, how difficult would it be to get someone to send me their registration cards? I imagine there is someone out there with a stack of DS games, complete with unused registration keys because they don't give a damn. These are all popular first party games like Super Princess Peach, Kirby Canvas Curse, Warioware, etc.

What do the American ones do? In Europe, you can exchange them for wii points (400 stars for 100 points- one game = 250 stars. Ds or wii console = 1000 stars). Its still the same though, The last four or five used games I bought had them unscratched and unregistered

Since the closure of the Nintendo Power forums, I don't bother registering games. There's no incentive, and I never log on to the Nintendo site anymore, so I can't even be greeted by my list of games.

I wouldn't say that people selling games in online marketplace are selling the games and withholding their registration key cards, stacking them in a nice pile for collector's purposes. I'm sure either the person has them or they don't, and they would likely be confused by communications to them regarding inclusion of the keys.

I don't know of any incentives that nintendo does for america (except for some occasions like when you had to register phantom hourglass to get the stylus) but I do it anyway. I think of it as a security measure, incase any of my games get stolen, there's proof that I bought them on the internet.
