I did not spot a thread for this game, so I decided to make one (if there is, I apologize and it can be locked)

Though Rock Band and Guitar Hero have taken over as the music rhythm kings, we can't forget one of the series that helped to give the genre some momentum. For the 2008 E3, Konami had a number of different iterations of its iconic dancing videogame out on the show floor. Though this E3 isn't nearly as crowded as past expos, that didn't stop Nate Ahearn and I from putting on a show for the attendees by hopping onto the mats for some Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3.

By now, you should surely know the Dance Dance formula. The game comes with a dancing pad that you use your feet to press the buttons on to coincide with the rhythm. The basic gameplay design hasn't changed in ages and Dance Dance Revolution Universe 3 doesn't make any waves either. The game can be played online or off in a variety of modes that carry over from previous DDR titles. There's a workout mode, a quest, versus and just straight up dancing. Even the music selection feels the same. The five or so songs that were open to play were more of the Japanese pop tracks that DDR is near synonymous with now.

So, if you're in the mood for more songs and dancing after the last two Xbox 360 Dance Dance Revolution Universe games that have already released, another is on the way. Dust off your tap shoes and get ready.

As many of you know, I own both DDR Universe games and like both, although I haven't been a big fan of Dance Master mode. It appears that DDR Univers 3 isn't going to add really much new, but I'll still enjoy it regardless. I haven't heard the songlist yet, but as soon as I hear it, I'll post it (or someone can).

Anyway, definitely a game I want to get, I just hope Konami releases a stand-alone for it (I already have a 360 dance pad).

Re-hash ? Besides different music what is different with this one ?That's all Konami does with DDR, because they keep selling (they don't see a reason to change).

I wish the Xbox versions (original and 360) were rehashes. Instead, KCEH (and later KDE) had to change everything and totally screw over the franchise (hell, it won't even go full speed with videos on).

I'd get DDR if it wasn't so expensive. Some of you are really lucky getting them for $10-$30..

I found the tour mode in DDR Univers 1 so stupid. I hope part 2 and 3 don't have that...

I found the tour mode in DDR Univers 1 so stupid. I hope part 2 and 3 don't have that...It's in part 2, and it's even worse, way worse. For the Dance Championships for an area, there are 3-4 rounds compared to 1. If you fail in-between, you gotta restart the entire thing over (or well, quit I mean). It's very annoying and the achievements are not as easy to get. I completely stopped playing the Tour Mode. I doubt it will get any better in the third. :-( I wish they just left it to where you unlock songs by playing songs X number of times.
